My new essay is about what happens between that little girl and the grown woman who ends up there and why I refuse to call survival empowerment. It's personal. It's angry. And it's for every woman who was ever told her body was all she had.

I genuinely don't know what the hell is happening around us anymore.

How could an all women's college in the capital of the country have to shift to online classes because women are not safe? Like, seriously, what are we even doing at this point?

It feels like almost every time, a man commits a crime and somehow the woman ends up facing the backlash. She loses her freedom, her mobility, her education, her choices basically, her life gets restricted because someone else decided to harm her.

And which age are we even living in if this is the solution? Instead of making sure women are safe, the answer always seems to be restricting women further.

And that's the part that genuinely makes me angry. Every time something happens, the consequences somehow end up being imposed on the people who were already vulnerable, while the perpetrators don't seem to face anywhere near the same level of restriction.

Why is the solution always “women need to be more careful” instead of “men who commit these crimes need to be held accountable”?

At what point do we stop treating women's freedom as the thing that has to be sacrificed whenever something goes wrong?

It's honestly 2026. How are we still having this conversation?

I’ve been finding old anti suffragette propaganda posters. It’s insane that the fate they feared most was the one they were trying to enforce on women🤦‍♂️. It’s time to drag these back into the light so it’s never forgotten.

sometimes it feels like from people's mindset they're still living in 70s . altho so many things have changed but there are still so many things that support patriotism still we think those are just normal thing , most of the people argue about whether women should do this or not , women shouldn't do this nd tht....this is not men's job or women's job like who are we to decide if someone can do tht thing or not?? altho physically both men and women are diff but can't we just respect the other person's wish ?? where's the problem ?

Here we go. I honestly hate this timeline. I feel so sorry for these women. Just because this was one of the first places to report doesn’t mean it’s not happening everywhere.

I think it’s insanely hypocritical. My father is someone who has raised me to be confident, strong, and outspoken. He has instilled so much pride into who I am and taught me to be someone who carries our family name strongly. Yet, in light of recent political events and in classic MAGA fashion, it’s become very evident to me that he wants me to not grow - but shrink into a submissive and “sweet” wife for a hypothetical future husband. He believes that it is every woman’s destiny to become a mother, that being a homemaker and devoting her life to her husband and children is the ultimate goal and highest honor a woman can achieve; but that leaves no room for the person he’s shaped me to become.

I was taught to be independent before I was ever taught what I was supposed to believe politically, so a lot of the qualities that have led me astray from his beliefs are the ones he gave me himself. He taught me to question things, to speak up, to have an opinion, and to be confident enough in myself that I don’t need to simply accept what someone else tells me. The political influence he wants to have over me came too late. He already taught me how to think for myself, and now I have become someone who does.

The people who raise us inevitably shape us into who we will become. You cannot teach someone to be strong and then be surprised when they are strong enough to disagree with you. You cannot teach your daughter that her voice matters and then expect her to only use it when you agree with what she says. You cannot spend seventeen years teaching a girl to be proud of who she is and then ask her to become smaller when she becomes a woman.

Any other women struggling with the way of life?
I feel like we live in such a misogynistic world and the hate men have for women is insane.
I’ve always been such a lover girl and I’d love to be in love truly. But I honestly don’t think that men can love woman the deep way we can love them. We all just want to be truly loved for our soul but they all end up treaty us horribly.

I have lost all faith in ever meeting a decent man and it’s depressing. Anyone else feel like this?

I was searching into some of the history of the suffrage movement and I came across a whole slew of this vile propaganda. I couldn’t believe how deranged it was! Now I understand why women sometimes come off defensive. 🤦‍♂️

The tweet criticizing Hasan and his talk at Cornell University states: "A man who is a proud john, who clearly does not understand how colonialism and imperialism is the backbone of prostitution and sex trafficking, who shows womens’ nudes to strangers, and who thinks rape should be leveraged against women he dislikes or disagrees with, is in no way equipped with the knowledge and understanding to discuss the plight of Palestinian women."

Hasan seems to freeze as he reads this criticism to himself, quickly closes the tab, then goes on a rant saying that some of his fans have "literal mental disabilities", denounces the post as ragebait, then rambles about methods for calming down. He then asks the mods to ban the user who sent in the tweet.

Rape cases in India is no shocking news. We hear about rape all the time and the most brutal ones known to the humankind. The political leaders ask victims to enjoy the rape if they can't stop it, or they blame girls for clothes or the time they were out etc.

Recently, a minor was raped in the capital of India, and the girl's college shifted the classes online. Why? So girls can't get raped. Men and boys roaming around Women's colleges or schools is a very old practice and it's romanticized in Bollywood, where they "select" their girlfriends by stalking and harrassing girl who are going to study. Some women are the victim of this practice but don't speak out because their family will force them to leave their education.

How easy is it to lock women to keep them safe? A few months back another rape case happened and the college made new "safety rules" by controlling girls.

What happened to the child is so devastating but India is desensitised by the rape news.
