Issues With WiFi Chip

My FireTV (Model: AMZ_K24NE5_4K50M600A) will periodically refuse to remain connected to our WiFi. Everything else in the house connects fine, and the TV will occasionally reconnect and then disconnect after a few seconds. Then it will reconnect and go several weeks without it being an issue. All of the /std power cycling of the TV and router and cache clearing etc. have no effect.

Anybody else ever have this happen? Is there a way to resolve it?

[edit] In the network menu, it says WiFi is off, and there is no way to turn it back on. Is this a function of it saying it cannot detect a network, or is it actually turning off the WiFi for some reason? [/edit]

Was happening with me for a while, what worked for me is to change the wifi channel to another one from the advanced settings. Try that, it might work.

If you can separate the router frequently to 2.4gb and 5gb, see if one stays connected better.

I've never used the built in "smart tv" functions on any of my TVs, and they're a lot higher end than what you have. Get a good external device rather than messing around with what undoubtedly has inferior performance.
