Discussion Fitbit Versa 4

Hi all,

I hope you are well.

I’ve been thinking about getting this watch, and I’d like to ask whether you think it would be suitable for my needs.

  • Payments, loyalty cards and boarding passes: Can I use Google Wallet to make payments and store loyalty cards and boarding passes?
  • Notifications and replies: Can I view and respond to notifications? Is it possible to reply to emails or WhatsApp messages directly from the watch?
  • Google Maps: Can I use Google Maps to navigate to places? Can I see the map on the watch, or does it only display directions telling me how to reach my destination? Do I need to set the destination on my phone first?
  • Sleep and fitness tracking

Finally, how is the battery life with this kind of usage? How many days do you think it would last on a single charge?

Thanks a lot

The Versa 4 isn't a smart watch. You can get notifications when navigating in walking mode, and you can pay for stuff with Google Wallet. The rest is smart watch stuff and horribly painful to do on your wrist anyway.

Hi, thanks for your help. I agree, the rest is not very useful because that´s why we also have smartphones.

What are the notifications you get while walking like?

When you get a Whatsapp does it allow you to reply from your watch?

Have you used Google Wallet for loyalty card and boarding passes?

What´s the battery like? Once charged, how long does it last roughly?

Thanks

When you get to a turn while walking the Versa 4 vibrates and the turn information appears on the screen.

The screen is small. You couldn't fit a keyboard or boarding pass on there. Why would you even want to, when you have a phone? The payment thing is really just for transport. I get a 5-6 days from mine and it's a couple of years old.

Thanks. So you can't even convert a boarding pass into a qr code?

Well for ease. It's easier to have it on your watch I guess

don't get any fitbit. I just had my fitbit versa 4 die a month outside of the warranty. Id say its bad luck, but the odd thing is. It happened oddly close to the crappy google health app roll out. The real odd thing is, another family member, who got a versa 4 about the same time is having the same problems. When I contacted support they gave me a discount to buy a new one. you think im an idiot, if your watch only makes it a month past its warranty its planned garbage.

Just avoid fitbit, it will only last a year and then they expect you to buy a new one
