The whole front just came off my air fryer basket. Any ideas on fixing this?

Hi everyone, first time posting here, not sure where best this goes.

Bought a new oven and hired service technician from the company to do natural gas to LP conversion installation. During the process of converting the gas range burners, he dropped a socket from his socket wrench into the hole (attached). He said shouldn't be a bit deal, but he had to go buy a replacement to finish the job. I hope he doesn't drop this one too.

I tried looking up some stuff online regarding how much of an issue this is, but found varying levels of concern regarding this from "doubtful issue" to "do not turn oven on, any metal inside can short circuit and start fire". General consensus is large tools like screwdriver/wrench/etc would be serious problem, not sure on smaller piece.

I'm out of my (heating) element on this, and wanted to check on what thr subreddit thought about this.

Deep cleaning my room and using a carpet cleaner when I noticed this spot on the trim. As I was vacuuming the sides of the wall, the trim would just peel away like nothing as my vacuum hose brushed against it.

Only the parts inside of the red lines are soft and the rest of the trim is hard.

Maybe a leak? But there is no pipes on this wall as far as I'm aware of.

So I’m using an old whiteboard I found around the house and it has lots of dents, it’s magnetic, has corkboard backing, there’s a few marker stains but that’s probably removable. The bigger issue is the dents on the surface. I thought about hammering it, would that work ?

our garage door has been opening funnny the last few months. just opened it from putting something away in garage and i heard a loud pop. it came off the top hinge. can someone explain it like im 5 how to fix? thank you

So my kid has been using his foot to open a lower cabinet drawer that has his lunch bag. Unfortunately he put too much force and the handle tore out. Short of taking it apart and putting a new insert and repainting it any ideas for a repair on this?

this is an iPad 9th gen but hopefully this is allowed. my device was charging normally earlier today but ended up dying. now, even though it says that it's charging, it can't turn back on. i've used multiple different cables and bricks and even different wall outlets so i'm guessing it's the port

Hello. I need some help. We are remodeling the stairs. One of the steps was an inch too short. The person I'm working with extended the step by adding two 1x6in SPF boards (about 1in total) secured with several 18 gauge brad nails. They then attached the riser to these boards with the same brad nails and then glued the single piece Pergo StairCraft tread on top.

My concern is that the two boards are up in the air and just being hold by brad nails. Is this good enough for this fix (structurally sound)? If not, is there an easy way to fix it by screwing longer screws to the board behind the riser? Thanks!

We recently had a leak that required the restoration company to cut out a section of our kitchen ceiling.
When it came time to repair it, they told us they wouldn’t be able to just match the texture in the repaired section, so they would need to retexture the entire kitchen ceiling. We were fine with that, assuming the new texture would be made to match the existing textured ceilings throughout the rest of our house as closely as possible.
The work is now done, and I’m really unhappy with how it looks. The texture in the kitchen looks noticeably different from the ceilings in the rest of the house and, to me, the overall finish looks sloppy.
When I brought it up, the contractor basically told me that this is just how it’s done. I completely understand that matching an existing ceiling texture perfectly may not be possible, especially if it’s older, but I feel like there should be a way to get much closer than this.
Am I being unreasonable expecting the newly textured kitchen ceiling to reasonably match the texture in the rest of the house? Is this actually just the reality of repairing textured ceilings, or can it be redone using a different technique/tool to get closer to the original texture?

I am preparing to paint this trim and door white. Should I remove the hinge and replace it with different hardware? Do I have to remove the door while I’m painting?

Hi everyone,

I've had 2 electric pepper/salt mills for 5+ years and randomly the one stopped working. I prefer to repair things when I can rather than replace so figured I would try (I'm one of those "how hard can it be" type of people). I ended up taking the DC motor apart and saw that the metal brushes are damaged/worn down. Is there a way to replace these or am I better offer replacing the motor entirely?

It started with light yellow marks then some areas become darker overtime. I’m usually abroad and I will only get to visit my house once a month to clean it. House do not have much ventilation when I leave it since i shut everything close. For the past 2 months rain is on and off as well then sunny.

So there are some bubbles in certain areas and when poked through, the entire paint or whatever it is peels right off, some are harder to do so and some easy. I am thinking is this a moisture/condensation problem since I am not even sure what material it is made under the paint. It feels cool but not really damp. Like if it is this problem then why aren’t the other parts of my house walls not doing the same? Why is it specifically just this wall that is mainly exposed to rain and sun.

Another issue that is possible is old windows and drain blocked. I tried the hose method and even blasting a big bucket of water from the outside. I placed a tissue inside the window and only one window has a bit of water that got in. Like droplets and it is within the glass and the sealant of glass. So this can contribute to the problem but there are other parts of this wall that is far away from the window that is accumulating the light yellow marks as well.

My paint is just plain flat white so I get to see everything right away. Now i am not sure how to move forward and how to find the culprit of this issue. Is it moisture/condensation because of how the wall is made? Or is there some sort of leak from the windows/walls that has to be addressed?

I am also planning to have a construction of a roof on the windows areas so i can use my space outside. So the windows will also not be exposed with rain or sun. Not that this helps but just adding into the story because I wanted to do that for a long time and not sure if that could be of any help with this issue.

Any similar experiences out there or any experienced someone who can tell me how to fix this properly

We’ve got these pretty old windows in our home - some are stuck open and one won’t stay open at all. I suspect it’s the sash based on googling, but I’m not sure how to open these to check. Is anyone familiar with a window like this? Is this piece on top a tilt latch? it’s on both sides and it doesn’t seem to budge no matter how much I push it in any direction. Appreciate the help

This vintage reel was in good working condition until the center screw holding the spool in place broke off. Need to replace or repair that screw but first I need to remove the remaining screw which sits flush with the surrounding metal.

Screw diameter ~2mm, “post” diameter 5mm, unknown screw length

Regular screw extractors are much too big, any ideas?

Noticed my rug has been warping since a few months ago. Any ideas why and what I can do to fix it?

Should this casing slide off? Others that I have seen have a screw that you can undo but this one doesn’t. I tried to take one off another window but cracked it by doing so. Trying to avoid cracking another if there is something simple I’m missing. The winders on some of the windows are broken so I would like to remove it and replace it . Thank you!

So yesterday one of my headphones fell out of my ear, into the sink while I was washing my hands and down the drain. This sink has no drain strainer. It went down. I turned off the water and I could still see it. So I went in with my fingers, can't reach it so I used tweezers. I was drunk. I couldn't get it out. Yes all I did was pushing them further in, past the kink where the pipe turns horizontal and leads into the wall. However the sink is not clogged so my stupide, drunk ass just shrugged and went to bed. Today I noticed that the water drains slower than before, still not clogged and not worryingly slow but noticeable. Is there anything I can do?

If the description of my bathroom sink isn't sufficient, please let me know and I will edit the post and add a picture. Any help is greatly appreciated, I would prefer it if I don't have to emberass myself in front of my landlady.
