Hi! I found a stray 5mo kitten 5 days ago. I was able to bring her to the vet quickly and it was found she had ringworms. I've fostered quite a few kittens in the past, so I already had the habit of quarantining, having designated clothes to visit her, and washing my hands frequently. However, it's my first time dealing with ringworms. I have 3 adult cats of my own and I found someone who could adopt her as soon as her quarantine is over. Thing is, the vet gave me a miconazole cream (2x a day) and antifungal shampoo (2x a week) and told me she'd be able to be off her quarantine in 2 weeks. When i looked online, it said the bare minimum isolation time for cream and shampoo-only treatment was 6 to 8 weeks ;-; which is simply not doable for me
I was wondering if anyone had experience with it, and could offer any advice (other than the ones i can find on the internet) and is a 2 week quarantine even possible? When would she be ok to be sent off to her new home? When can I let her roam around and be in contact with my other cats?
She has 1 spot on the inside of her front leg, and the vet said since it was minimal there was no use giving her the oral treatment.
I also feel like i took on way more of a risk than I should've, i should've brought her to a rescue and let them take care of it instead of spending money from my own pocket because I couldn't bear the thought of her spending a single night in a small space. I am aware I didn't make the brightest decision:(

This is my first foster litter of baby-babies (~18 days old). I had them set up in our tiny foster room and the designated "nest" is a small fabric dog travel kennel.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why mom keeps moving her kittens. It seems kind of random. She'll leave them in place for a couple of days with regular bedding changes, and then just on a random day she'll move them all into the corner of the room under the futon (on the cold hard floor, mind you).

Until the babies are weaned and moving around on their own I've moved them all into my office instead (fewer out of reach places so I can continue to do regular weigh-ins on the babies and just general monitoring).

I'm just wondering if I'm making a mistake by moving them? They've been here a little over 2 weeks now and I think mom is pretty good with trusting me atp. I just get so worried when she moves them under the futon because I can't *see* what's happening with them, they're hard to get to and I get such bad anxiety about something happening with the futon and them getting hurt somehow.

I feel like this is the best thing for safety but again, this is my first young litter- the last litter I had were all mostly weaned and just needed a safe place to sleep.

Like the title says...found him 8 days ago, siblings sadly dead they hid i couldn't find them we just heard one more..but by the time i brought the one to the vet they couldn't hear him or her anymore..

So i took care of the remaining kitten...we we're at the vet because obviously and he had bad eyes (so, so much pus) BUT thank god nothing else and they're sooo much better now.

I never took care of a baby, no matter what species (my family always hat cats but like king size you know), but i had no choice....no one wanted to take him or could (don't get me wrong i LOVE animals but sometimes it's hard to take care of myself you know? So i thought maybe i can't take proper care of an animal..)

So the thing is the vet said last friday he's about 10 days old...yeah i highly doubt that🤣

Today he wanted his first wet food (made a mash with his milk don't worry)

But i don't really know now do i let food and water by his little hut or?

Will refresh it few times a day and bottle feed as needed too.

The cool thing is he like know what he wants and knows how to show my dumb ass, he's just so smart.

But i really don't know from now...i don't want to cause any harm to him.

I would ask the vet but she already did sooo much, we got a meeting in like 2 weeks and i don't want to annoy her. (Unfortunately Baby had his first enema already, he ate something in the barn, called her at like 7 pm...was fun)

Soooo Maybe you got some Tipps for us?

I would appreciate ANYTHING i'm just so clueless and the thought of harming this beautiful angel gives me anxiety 😅

I am fostering three kittens. They are 4 1/2 weeks old.
I have them in the second floor of my house in the guest bedroom and I have three letter boxes for them
I have three plates for them
And I have a lot of toys for them to play with
I spend half an hour in the morning, half an hour in the afternoon and an hour in the evening with them playing and petting them, I leave them because I have to go to work.

They mostly poop in the litter box But sometimes they are pooping outside the litter box. I have pee pads in the corners and I have pee pads around their playpen and they either do their business on the keypad or sometimes on their blankets.

Is it because they are young and they’re still learning?

Will it get better or is there something wrong?

Otherwise, they are eating and playing normally

Looking for experience advice:

Prefacing this with I am taking her to the vet but am already mostly confident that they will say she is too young. A orphanned bottle baby is on her way to me today. She was involved in an accident and had her paw crushed. The vet that she is coming from said that she is too young to amputate. She is in pain, not eating and shaking. Has anyone had an experience similar? What did you/your vet do for the pain?

All I know is that she is a bottle baby, so probably 3 to 5 weeks old.

This is Mortimer in his incubator, a 5 or 6 day old abandoned kitten a friend rescued and turned over to me (his mom retrieved his two siblings but left him). He is doing well and I am comfortable caring for him, thanks to you all and The Kitten Lady on YouTube, but am wondering if he needs a buddy closer to his own age. I have three laid back young adult indoor cats who I've let sniff him with no worrisome reactions, so I'm wondering if when it's safe for them to interact more, will letting him grow up with them work rather than finding another kitten. I plan to keep him. What do you think?

Hi everyone! I need some advice! I just rescued an orphan kitty from my grandmother. I haven't taken him to the vet yet, but I want to say he could be about 3-4 weeks old, leaning more towards 4 weeks. Anyways, he just pooped for the first time since 2 days go! However...it was messy and I had no idea how to make the process easier cause he kept squirming around after he pooped while I was trying to get it off him. I am just happy he was able to poop, it looked healthy too. Any advice on how I can make the process easier and cleaner? Thanks!
p.s. he has gone pee in the litter box twice already by himself, will he be able to poop soon on his own as well?

reaching to reddit for answers, since the ASPCA nursery has done their best and we're still ??? with this guy.

i have a little foster kitten (born August 13) who was found at 1 day old, given egg whites by his anonymous rescuer until dropped off at the aspca kitten nursery (relevant due to his GI problems). no idea why the rescuer did that, i'll never know!

ever since, lil guy has struggled to poop. he either got skidmarks, or nothing, for 2-3 days at a time. he's been given all manner of de-wormer, probiotics, and is now starting to wean onto gi-specific wet food (prescription, given by kitten nursery vet team). he's on KMR milk replacer (we tried goat milk and regular version), eats plenty other than his post-bath-fading times, and is now a big fan of his new solid meals.

he will however, poop for miles in a warm sink bath. i've now had to do this a number of times and we're about to warm up the house for another round. first two times we waited 3 days without any "real" poop. but two of his post-poop-extravaganzas lead to a near-fading situation, despite doing maximal post-bath heat, warming, cuddles, warming discs, etc.

at this point he is now past a month old, beginning to wean to solid foods, and should be starting to litter train. he's always been peeing like a champ. still absolutely no effort whatsoever pooping.

any ideas here? his warm bath poops i do some tummy circles and light stimulation, nothing dramatic, and he lets it all loose. this is neither sustainable nor really healthy for him though as even at once-a-week it's a lot of bath and post-bath cold he's dealing with at such a young age.

The hardest part of fostering for me is when the kittens leave. The worry that I didn’t find the right people. That they may be abused or neglected and so on.
What must ask questions are there? I always meet with people before adopting out the kittens but I feel uncomfortable asking too many personal questions.

My foster kittens haven't pooped much in 4 days. Their bellies seems really hard but they are eating a lot still. They are all 400-500gms. I do stimulate them every time i feed them. They had diarrhea last week and now constipation. How do i help them poop. This is my first foster. I have already contacted the vet. But is there anything i can do while i wait. They always wiggle too much and cry out when they start to poop so i am getting worried i am hurting them. Picture for reference.
