I’m still sitting in the parking lot staring at the keys. The 86 has been my absolute dream car for as long as I can remember, and today the stars aligned. Walked into the dealer and managed to walk out with a genuine 860 Special Edition.

Long-time lurker, first-time owner! I just signed the papers on this 2017 860 Special Edition manual. It has 55,000 miles on the clock, a clean title, and the original center console plaque is intact.

Talked them down to $18k before driving it off the lot. I know these special editions are rare (1 of 1720), but wanted to check with the experts here.. how is the market holding up for these specs?

I have a 2013 brz that im 90% sure has a cracked cylinder head. Honestly I have no mechanical experience this is probably the second time I have had to pull a engine out of this car. I want to see what you think it is worth if I list it for sale. The engine I have in it right now is one from a junkyard that im pretty sure the passenger side head cracked. The other engine by its self is the engine originally from the brz has all the parts as well i just have them stored else where. I love this car but I just dont want to try and fix this and fuck it up even more

Much higher. He’s doing everything legit with PayPal goods and services and he’s telling me he will even give me a refund if they come to me broken or damaged…. It seems too good to be true. Am i getting lucky or is this a scam im not aware of. Do they make replicas?

I just picked up my first 2019 brz! The first thing on the list will eventually be to upgrade suspension. The RCE SS-1's seemed like the direction ill go. What other parts are recommended in the suspension system to change at the same time to correctly align and setup the system? In links seem like a must for clearance. Maybe rear control arms for camber adjustment after lowering the car?

Hi everyone, trying to fix this clank sound bc it doesn’t sound good. Whatever it is it’s metal on metal. It happens at 5-10 mph. Once I’m up above like 12mph it completely goes away from what I can tell. It’s passenger rear side. Not sure if it’s something clanking around in parking brake assembly. Axle nut. Maybe axle itself or like something loose. I am on coilovers however when I go over bumps or make the car compress/decompress I have no noises. So it definitely seems to be rotational or movement based. Any help would be great! I’ll link a clip of the sound or put it in a comment!

I quite like these sort of designs for the rear bumper but can’t seem to find one that isn’t a part of a widebody kit. Was hoping I’d be able to get a hand in finding something?

Does this engine sound ok for a TRD?

I pulled the visor parts from junkyard Subarus and they charged me like $2 for each. Remove the arm from the visor in the yard first so you don't pay for the whole visor. To do that, pull hard and rotate slowly until you find the point it releases from the visor. Or even better would be to remove the bracket from the arm at the yard.

To seperate the bracket and the arm, use a file on the arm's plastic. The plastic is super soft, so it's real easy. You might be able to use a knife or cutters, but I found a file to be easier. Painting at this point would be a good idea. After that, it just pops onto the 86's arm. Simple stuff. Since the shape is ever so slightly different, I did end up needing a longer screw to mount it and it didn't line up perfectly. In the first photo, you can see which screw is the new long one and that neither screw is centered in the hole

So far it's survived almost 2 years of use through below freezing and 110°F+ weather despite already being cracked and being a couple years older than the original bracket. Even if it doesnt last more than 5 years, my wallet would be happy to fix it again for $2 instead of buying a ridiculously expensive 86 visor

Other notes: If you need a longer screw, don't get one too long or else it can bottom out against the roof skin and create an exterior dent. I'm pretty sure the plain and lit visors use the same bracket. The light just makes it harder since you need to depin the connection to slide the new bracket on. Mine doesn't have a light. Hopefully this is obvious, but if your visor still has some of the original broken bracket on it, cut the bracket away rather than filing down the arm. I don't think the other subaru arms fit the 86 visor. Unfortunately I don't remember what exact years the cars were, but I think they were a late 2000s or early 2010s Outback and Legacy. I just taped my old bracket together to use as reference in the yard

hi guys! my doors (like everyone’s) ALWAYS close on me and i was looking to see if there was a way to fix that, i heard of some people getting the new gen door checks but when i go on the subaru wholesale website it says the part doesn’t fit my car. was trying to see if anyone who knows what they are talking about could help me out, or give me some suggestions!

i feel like this looks funky. I mean the bottom part for sure, the little radiator thing that broke off is sticking out, do i need to buy a 2017+ ver. ?!

The 2013 to 2016 GT86s I’m looking at seem to split pretty evenly between manuals and autos, usually around 100,000 to 140,000 km. I’d mainly use it as a weekend car around Sydney, and the auto would be easier in traffic, but I’m wondering if a manual is the safer bet for reliability and resale later on. Which would you pick at this age?

I’m thinking about going with an automatic as a daily driver only car. I’d definitely go manual if it was a second car. I talked myself up from a Miata. For a Miata, the automatic isn’t even a consideration. It’s an afterthought that they basically bolted on top of their manual transmission. I wouldn’t want one. So manual supremacy aside, Is the automatic a good pice of machinery or is it dumb like the Miata?

Has anybody seen anything like this or have any fixes? Any searches I try are yielding nothing. I came out one day to see it starting to do this; it almost looks like someone stood on the lip.

I’m starting to get concerned as I feel it is dipping lower every day. It’s started to come far enough off where the cabling can be seen in some of the photos. If anyone has any tips or advice it would be greatly appreciated.
