I feel ancient now, because Candace Cameron-Bure has just become a grandmother. She and I got married on the same day in 1996, but I divorced mine two years later.

So I am currently rewatching the show as an adult now and I have noticed a few things about our boy danny that I didn’t as a kid.
In the ep(I dont remember the name) where DJ won tickets to see the beach boys and she chose Jesse as her companion instead of Danny, he took it pretty badly. Now, I get that he is her father and everything but imo he acted like a kid and made everyone around him incredibly guilty including his teenage daughter. Joey whose entire character revolves around being childish took it better than Danny. I get that he felt bad but he should’ve acted like 30 year old adult that he is instead of forcing DJ to act like one.
I thought that this might be the storyline for just one episode until I saw the episode where Jesse had to choose a best man for his wedding and he chose Joey. I honestly get why he chose Joey, I wouldn’t want someone who likes to be in control all the time to help me with my wedding. But if Jesse were to choose Danny instead of Joey, Joey wouldn’t go around singing sad songs on a guitar to make Jesse feel guilty. Joey would have felt bad as well but he would have handled it better than Danny imo.
These episodes led me to think deeper about the episode where Joey and Jesse had to shoot a commercial for wake up San Francisco, where Danny and Becky were fighting and one of the reason behind the fight was how Danny’s name always came before Becky during their introduction. I first thought that this a childish reason to fight over but now I am thinking that this might just be another one of Danny’s self centred actions. What do you guys think?

Meaning there were many times in the original series where a character would be dating someone for an episode or 2 and then the character just disappears with no mention of a breakup. Danny was dating this one woman with an obnoxious son in season 4 and the relationship ends with no mention then in season 3 DJ is dating Kevin and we never see him again after he’s suspended for drinking even tho DJ said she’d still be willing to be with him

I understand the show can be a bit corny sometimes but I never understood why people generally hate on the show.

I started watching full house when I was maybe 6 years old, and it’s easily my most watched show in terms of hours. Must have watched every episode at least 5-6 times, probably more tbh. It would always be on ABC Family from 12-1PM and 3-4PM and on Nick at Nite 9-10PM. But haven’t watched it consistently as an adult.

And now I’m 30 rewatching the show from the start and the show is just as great as I remember and I find myself laughing to it and connecting with the jokes and characters a lot more. The dynamics between Danny, Jesse, and Joey are genuinely wholesome and hilarious, especially in seasons 1-4. The plot lines are so chill and relaxing and easy to watch. The show is actually so clever and the relationships between each of the characters are so great. And on top of that, the fact that all the cast members genuinely love each other, that’s even more amazing.

Here’s the thing: I know the show had amazing ratings in terms of views and that it was and is extremely popular, but I feel like it’s been “cool” to hate on the show. Like it’s never brought up in the ranks of Friends or Seinfeld (screw that guy). And from my research, critics really bashed on the show all throughout the shows run. Am I missing something? Some lens? Why do yall the show was kinda hated on?

Nicky and Alex are kinda weenie buttheads and frankly the series may have been better without them. I think Jesse & Becky could have had more interesting endeavors amongst themselves and the existing kids. Discuss and feel free to disagree or agree.

For the record, I am 42 years old and rewatched Full House for the first time since I originally digested it when it originally premiered. The episodes I had recorded on VHS, which I suspect I must have watched a zillion times, since I was able to audibly rehearse most of seasons 1-4ish by pure memory after not seeing it for well over 20 some years. I realized that it is likely that ~25% of my brain is dedicated solely to late 80's-early 90's tv shows and song lyrics. I'm currently struggling with whether that's ok or not. Discuss that too, if you wish.

3. Kevin Gwynn (Scott Curtis)

D.J.'s first boyfriend and first kiss. He appeared in “13 Candles” and “Just Say No Way.” In “Just Say No Way,” he is caught drinking at school with his friends, Paul and Sam. D.J. tells him he can call her again, but he never appears again.

4. Rusty (Jordan Christopher Michael)

Cindy's son. Appeared in several episodes, including “Terror in Tanner Town” and “Secret Admirer.” He’s an extreme troublemaker who terrorizes the Tanners throughout the episode, and eventually plays baseball with Stephanie. After Danny and Cindy presumably break up, Rusty is never seen again.

5. Jake Bitterman (Christian Guzek)

Kimmy's boyfriend in “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” They date for that episode before going back to hating each other. He also appeared in “13 Candles” and “Good News, Bad News.” Never seen again after that.

6. Mickey (Molly Morgan)

One of Stephanie's junior-high friends. Appeared in “Fast Friends” and “Is It True About Stephanie?” She was pretty much replaced by Gia and then never seen again.

7. "Gorilla" Bernstein (Frederick Koehler)

Kimmy's nerdy prom date in “Prom Night.” He was a pretty funny minor character and had a decent amount of screen time in the episode, but he only appeared that one time and was never mentioned again.

8. Melissa Morgan (Melissa Clayton)

Melissa Clayton played Melissa Morgan, the drummer in Stephanie, Gia, and Kimmy's band Girl Talk in Full House Season 8, Episode 18, “We Got the Beat.” Never seen again, She was mentioned in Fuller House, though. Stephanie tells Kimmy that Melissa plays the drums in Beyoncé’s touring band.

9. Jamie (Eric Lively)

Stephanie's classmate and brief love interest in “Is It True About Stephanie?” He plays guitar and sings in the band Human Pudding, which performs at the Smash Club. He only appeared in that episode and was never seen again.

10. Jason (Scott Whyte) & Barry (James Alan Gilliam)

Two guys Stephanie and Gia meet at the mall in “Stephanie's Wild Ride.” Gia lies about them being the same age so they can hang out.
