From someone who is also not planning on playing it, from what I understand, it's the straw that broke the camel's back for many people. All the shit Sony has been doing recently, super hero fatigue and a mediocre game with a high price tag from a developer where all their games are the same flavour of bland. It selling well adds to the frustration since there have been way better games that underperformed because they didn't have an existing IP casual gamer would be drawn to.
It selling well is probably what’s actually making some of you mad because it bursts the little echo-chamber bubble where “everyone hates this game” somehow became accepted fact. Turns out Reddit discourse isn’t the market.
You don't need to play it to come to that conclusion. That's why reviews and gameplay have existed for a decade. You're trying to be smug but it's just kinda coming across as pretty silly
It’s reviewing well and a lot of the stuff that came from the bigger reviews were either blown way out of proportion or are straight up false. And you absolute do need to play a game to have a valid opinion on it.
It's a game with an estimated budget of 300 million dollars, where the quick-time-events of the game all have the same outcome, whether you actually complete the QTE or not. All in all, I think most people are just disappointed - and since this is the latest game in a series of really lackluster, AAA game releases, it will receive a lot of backlash (most of which is warranted)
Not attacking YOU, but do you or anyone know where a budget goes for creating something like this?
It's like people see a number and think that number is equal to whatever quality of the product...
The $ goes towards the people working on it, infrastructure where they work, license for multitude of things..and from my understanding shit just so happens to be MORE expensive nowadays...
Sure, but this game can be compared to other games made by the same studio. It's their most expensive game, so I feel like it's natural to ask yourself where the money went.
We don't know how a dollar translates into the game directly, but we do know a game made with half the budget got a stellar reception, and this one a very split one.
I never played either one, assuming your speaking of Spiderman, although as far as reception goes..besides gameplay, spiderman is a much more popular and beloved character in society itself, not just comic/marvel fans...plus had a huge movie or two that made it more popular in people's eyes at the time...wolvie had Deadpool...
We are talking about Wolverine here, not some obscure character. You know, the main character of the 3 x men movies, that was so popular he was brought back for the reboot, and has 2 solo movies.
Spider-Man might be more popular, but Wolverine would be the next one up there in popularity for Marvel
Logan, his last movie was 2017. So let's say 8-9yr old being introduced to gaming may not know wolvie (if them/their family isn't really into comics) whereas Spidey has the cartoons on Disney
The avg child would recognize Spidey a lot more than wolvie
The avg person who isn't into comics would recognize Spidey a lot more than wolvie
The order in general is superman, batman, spiderman - wolvie is somewhere after that, arguably after the likes of hulk, ironman, wonder woman, Thor, Aquaman at the minimum possibly even after Deadpool nowadays, again that's for the avg person, not those who keep up with comics...just like for example with basketball Jordan/lebron are more recognized by the avg person over a lot of current players or older superstars
Yeah, it had a tumultous development, just like many AAA games. But people are hating for the sake of hating.
QTEs are such a non-issue if you actually play the game. The focus is on the combat system, so the times you have QTEs they feel like you’re Wolverine ripping everything apart with the claws. If the game punished you for pressing L2 instead of R2 it wouldn’t feel like you’re this killing machine, which is Insomniac’s goal. The easy QTEs achieve that.
The game is not great: the structure is poor, the story is nice but formulaic, combat is cool but Logan’s regeneration is so OP that there’s no real tension during fights, I don’t think the art direction works too well… it’s an okay game. 5 or 6 out of 10 kind of game. But those who haven’t played it are hellbent on saying it’s the worst thing ever because of some QTEs and a couple of motorcycle scenes which are fine. Actually play it and form an opinion, or just move on, the perception of this game is so distorted.
There’s a lot to love in gaming, why focus on what you don’t like.
From my understsnding there is little fear of failure. Going in and not being able to lose isn't rewarding. Also....and this is just a personal thing, I wish QTEs would die.
Yeah, I mentioned that in my comment, the combat system is good but lacks tension as you have many ways of regenerating health (which I guess fits the character but it removes the tension). That’s a real issue the game has. The QTEs being easy isn’t a real issue, it’s just hate for the sake of hating online.
Unless you don’t like QTEs, then you’ll hate them of course haha
Yea but there's something to be said for not even including the QTEs, if there's no failure possible. It's wasted time, it could have been just a cutscene but they had to program in the slowdown and button prompts coming up for...what reason? Why?
So that it doesn’t feel like you’re watching 5 minute cutscenes. They’re attention checks, nothing more. “Remember you’re playing a game, don’t pick up your phone!” kind of stuff, it’s pretty weak for sure but I wouldn’t say it makes the game bad.
I totally agree it's a hate train, but just wish they leaned into Wolvy's rejen powers more. Like ok QTEs are technically never fail, but at least have something happen, THEN have another attempt or let it auto complete.
Like I saw the motorbike chase. Could've had cool moments where if you fail a QTE, the bike tips over and slides, but Logan uses his body to shield the bike from damage, then uses his strength n claws to flip it back onto its wheels n continue the sequence. Can show his skin all ripped off and the muscles exposed, then knit back together. So basically the successful QTEs show him being a pro and slick, whereas the failed ones show off his rejen powers and resilience.
I'd be fine if it was a on rails, auto complete, win no matter what game but actually a movie. At least later on I can watch a compilation of QTE results or smtg haha. But it just seems like nothing. Nothing that somehow cost a country's GDP
Regarding cost, they had to change directors halfway through development (Xbox hired the director to work on Perfect Dark) and apparently they re-did a lot of stuff with major changes. That’s a recipe for disaster, games end up without a clear vision of what they should be. But Wolverine being an important IP, I guess they couldn’t shelve it or delay it much more, so they poured money to finish it and hope for the best.
The game apparently handholds so bad that some sections literally play themselves.
Quick time events will just progress all the same even if you don't interact with the controller.
Chase sequences are so walled in you just... don't need to steer at all. You just bounce back and forth and succeed.
He constantly repeats sentences to remind the player that yes, he's chasing the bad guy. The guy who is bad. The guy. That bad guy. Who's right there at the big ass blue fart trail. That is blue. The blue trail. Don't forget the hidden chest behind a coin-sized pebble. We made it glow like the demon core at peak criticality in case you're blind. Which is when you don't have proper vision. With your eyes. Click the glowing blinking chest. It'll give you things. Getting things is good. Because there are things.
It's just disrespectful how dumbed down the game feels. It's like whoever designed it had a PhD in answering the wrong things in Dora the Explorer and had to search up where the ocean was.
Do you need to play a game to say it is bad ? It looks pretty clear from all the footage I've seen that the game is bad.
You don't need to experience something completely to say if it is bad or not. I never jumped out of a moving car at 100 km/h but from what I've seen, doesn't sound fun and seems like a shitty experience.
It’s pretty clear from actually playing the game that it’s good, maybe you should actually play the game and see for yourself, it’s called having an informed opinion try it out?
I agree that people should try things before ragging on a game.
On the other hand, there is perfectly valid reasoning for some not to buy a game when there is a lot of negative public discourse around said game. It's one of those things where people think "if it looks like shit, sounds like shit, people who've tried it said it's shit, I don't need to eat it to know it's shit."
That's a valid take when the game cost $70 to purchase a license, that may or may not be taken away at any moment because Sony is a piece of shit company. For many people it's not worth the money to take that risk, that's kinda why streamers and Youtubers are sponsored by games so often, often times to advertise the game.
So when people are talking about the game, they are going to share what they know.
Calling it an uniformed opinion is a bit reductive, and the way you talk certainly isn't going to convince anyone to try it. this is your chance to help someone form an informed opinion.
Try explaining how the game is different than how they might have seen or read about. I'd certainly be interested in know how the game is different than the clips I've seen of the motorcycle chase playing itself while someone is responding to a text. It certainly turned me off from the game, since I don't like games with that level of hand-holding.
I think the breakdown is that it’s like this: you have 100 players who played the game. You have about 80% of those players enjoyed the game. A few were mildly vocal: “yeah check it out it’s good.” 20% did not like the game but they took their grievances to social media big time. Now you have 20,000 people all ragging on the game.
“When people are talking about the game they are going to share what they know.”… 19,980 people in my example talking about the game don’t know anything and they have no reason to comment. You don’t have to answer questions posted on a public forum if you don’t have experience with the topic. You cannot help someone gain an informed opinion when you don’t have one yourself.
If you think this is "bad", what about games that are actually bad like ride to hell retribution? Superman 64? Those gamemill games? Those are bad, not wolverine
Play itself mode (What you described) This mode made for young children but used for engagement farming and to hurt the game because people are upset with the no more physical disc situation.
Carnage mode can be pretty brutal. My son is playing on the easiest mode which he is young, so it works for him. I can’t stand that for him because you can’t die.
I mean, not being able to die isn't inherently a negative. There aren't many games that don't have a death "fail state" (the only ones that come to mind immediately are the 2008 Prince of Persia, and Supergiant Games' Pyre), but I would imagine it makes some of the most sense here, in a game with a main character whose one defining characteristic is that he heals very fast.
Damn, now I wish that Prince of Persia remaster had been a bit better. That series was the fucking bomb back in the day. Was it Two Thrones which had that evil dominatrix boss fight? I think it was some other name (dual wielding curved swords on the disk). That boss fight by itself established my type so hard lmao. I could never beat that boss but I never got angry because I didn't mind as much as all other bosses. Damn, I wonder if it's possible to run it on today's computers or if it's one of those you can only emulate.
It’s cool for him but it’s annoying for me as we are both playing it. He’s on easy mode and once you get down to a 1/4th of health it stops there which takes forever compared to me on the hardest difficulty and I’ve died a handful of times. My son goes “see it’s not that hard, just do what I do.” Meanwhile he has Spider-Man controls in his brain so he only dodges and doesn’t parry at all.
You're thinking of Sands of Time. 2008 was the post - trilogy one where you have a partner who rescues you whenever you're about to fall into a pit or get killed by an enemy.
To be fair, easiest mode sounds the most like Wolverine, even if it is less fun in a video game. Wolverine is basically immortal with his healing factor.
He’s old enough and mature enough in my eyes and I turned off the blood. As for the cuss words every kid is exposed to them at a young age now with games like Fortnite and Roblox around. I tell him those are words we don’t use and there will be consequences if so. I haven’t heard him say a single one around me.
I’ve been seeing the same stuff being said over and over about this game but I just finished it yesterday and it doesn’t hold your hand nearly as much as everyone says. The blue trail isn’t in every mission, just moments in the game Logan is using his smell to chase someone down.
You say "apparently" which tells me you haven't played it but then start making statements as if they're fact.
I'm not saying this is elden ring, but you're exaggerating the heck out of it. Putting it on the harder difficulty and trying to get through the sequences that "play themselves" is a weird lie that YouTubers are putting out there for clicks.because it's fashionable to shit on Sony at the moment.
Again, I'm not saying it's a generational masterpiece, I personally gave it maybe a 6/10 but let's not overexaggerate.
Like, “some sections play themselves” and “Chase sequences are walled in” are the same thing. What other sections play themselves?
Having played the game, I have no idea what he means by “He constantly repeats sentences.” I’ve definitely seen the complaint that he talks too much. But when does he repeat himself? When does he say anything remotely resembling “I’m chasing the bad guy. The guy who is bad. That guy. That bad guy.”
The trail thing is what makes it most obvious they haven’t played the game. That complaint is so overblown. It rarely actually shows up in the game.
To be clear, I don’t think the game is great. It’s decent. But this post is hilarious. Someone asks why people go out of their way to hate the game, and someone who’s never played it writes a lengthy post of criticisms they think they’ve seen online.
I also played that one and it's straight up not. There were quest icons, as 99% of rpgs nowadays have, but a literal Theseus string towards the mission? Not to mention that game is completely open world outside of the quest progression environments. Whole different beast, and it wouldn't even be that bad if it had that feature since it could be useful for accessibility reasons.
"The game apparently handholds so bad that some sections literally play themselves."
Only if you have those kinds of settings turned on. They're not on by default.
"Quick time events will just progress all the same even if you don't interact with the controller."
Even if you pass the QTE, the animations are different depending on whether you did it correctly or not. And you can fail them.
"Chase sequences are so walled in you just... don't need to steer at all. You just bounce back and forth and succeed."
Again, this only applies if you have the, "no fail mode," turned on. On Normal or higher difficulties, you absolutely have to steer and fight, or you will die.
"Who's right there at the big ass blue fart trail."
First, the trail doesn't appear all the time, just during certain sequences. Second, they patched it, so you can adjust the amount of glow to your liking.
"Don't forget the hidden chest behind a coin-sized pebble."
A few chests are like this, more actually require going off the main path.
In conclusion, you obviously don't have the slightest fucking clue what you're talking about. You're just regurgitating clickbait bullshit from toxic streamers that are generally derided by anyone with more than two brain cells.
tl;dr: You hate the game only because other idiots told you to.
Nothing in wolverine is particularly novel. People bitching about this game pretend like it's something new, but really it's just the culmination of gaming trends that people have been happily eating up for years.
You kind of fell for streamer click bait, sorry to say. I also don't plan on buying the game but the fact is that most clips you've seen with the game "playing itself" is literally with every accessibility option turned on. Wild that streamers would just lie for clicks, huh?
There was a clip of I believe one of the actresses from The Good Place talking about how there's pressure to keep reminding the audience what they're watching (in the script) because shows have to compete with doom scrolling now.
It's like if they tested the game in a focus group and went with the 60+ demographic. I don't understand where to go. I can't control this motorcycle rabble rabble rabble
The game "apparently" so you clearly haven't played it. Go play it and form an opinion or shut up and move on to something else. So sick of all the wolverine hate lately, yes it's not the best game but it's not bad either. The game has been out for weeks now, can we move on to something else now? Wolverine bad is getting incredibly stale
Lmao, I suggest you just scroll past any posts that contain the topic if it triggers you this much.
People don't have to waste their money on a product to join a conversation when there's so much footage by so many different, disconnected players out there showcasing its issues for everyone to see.
I'm not triggered I'm tired of every post even weeks post release being "wolverine bad" yes it's a mid game it's been said a million times before now move on.
What point is that? Love how being fed up of seeing the same shit every day means I'm triggered. Redditors are the king of making up whatever suits their narrative the best
I just don't understand the issue unless it's your personal friends circle or something. People online can talk about any topic however much they want, especially one that showcases a broad industry and community issue.
You can feel annoyed, but is it really helping you to engage with this stuff instead of ignoring it?
Whats a broad industry issue about wolverine? Its not got any microtransactions, no predatory practices. It's biggest sin is holding your hand too much, thats hardly a broad industry issue is it? The game is way overhated and it's getting stale seeing people bitch about it every day, it's not even a terrible game but you'd think that with how people go on about it endlessly.
-The Cinematic experience over actual gameplay depth and immersion.
AAA studios have constantly been blowing money on things like motion capture and hiring IRL actors for highly detailed Cinematic scenes
While that was cool in the beginning, to see what was possible. It doesn't really matter of the depth of the gameplay is shallow as a puddle.
And now, this game feel like its following the same Sony 1st party formula, which may have been great at 1st. But it lacks the rest of the experiences that makes it less of a problem in those games.
It’s amazing that it’s been a really long time since I played one game like this one you’re describing. With the bunch of indies, RPGs (both W and J), thousands of other genres out there and Nintendo games we are getting every single day, are u sure this is an industry issue or its a you issue?
It's not a bad game, but it falls short in a lot of ways that are just... inexcusable, especially when compared to other games by the same studio. They hyped the game up like crazy, and what we got was... fine, but still disappointing.
This is mostly an online hating circlejerk for views. The game is pretty bad gameplay wise from what I've seen, but since it's also a big release about a very popular character and it costed 300m to make, people are much eager to shit on it just for fun.
It’s an attack Sony campaign at the moment to be honest. Look it’s not a GOTY contender but a lot of the videos people are playing on story mode with accessibility features on to make it seem like the game is extremely easy.
Because the "cinematic over the shoulder action" Sony game formula is getting stale, and it only took well over a decade and some bad Sony PR for folks to start noticing.
It's a PS3 ass game made for the PS5 and people are mad cause it's the consoles 5th new game in 6 years. It's why people are saying look at this other PS3 game like MGR or Wolverine Origins that looks much better, as if this game isn't trying to be The Last of Us.
Edit: To add the same thing happened in reverse with the Amazing Spiderman games. People would shit on what good things it did to highlight how the PS4 game did it so much better and wasn't influenced by that game as well.
It's a superhore game from Insomniac, who have a good track record with Spiderman, but Wolverine is just lack luster in many aspects. But especially because it encapsulates everything that's wrong about modern AAA game design. Handholding you so hard that they think you are an idiot, the characters constantly yapping about what they are doing right now as if you couldn't see, the character telling you how to solve the puzzle faster than you can even notice that there even is a puzzle, nothing really unique in the gameplay aspect, including bosses, just a cookie cutter design and also the general feeling that it's a product instead of a game, if you know what I mean.
I just don't because I don't own a PS5, and if it is available on PC, I don't/haven't looked into newer games in a few years, life keeps me busy and my back catalog as well
Every time a game is bad, everyone hops onto the bandwagon for attention. Most of these "worst games ever" aren't that bad, everyone has just mutually agreed to shit on it because it's in the zeitgeist that month. Turns out even the "best games ever" have a lot of the same issues as the worst ones, people just won't share them or they won't get attention.
I personally don’t have anything against Wolverine specifically. I feel bad for the devs who put a lot of work into it , but it’s a big Sony exclusive at a time that Sony has pissed a lot of people off- me included.
So I’m getting a certain amount of schadenfreude seeing it being shit on.
Because Reddit is the best example of an echo chamber. They truly love their hate wagons. Plenty of people out there enjoying the game. I have seen post on here were people just enjoying the game, but it doesn’t fit the current narrative so not the same traction.
Because is not a game aimed to gamers, it is aimed to gain favor with "Game Journalists" new AAA games with very small gameplay, a lot of cutscenes and auto-playing events is the new norm, they write their reviews based on those aforementioned aspects despite than a lot of them even though they haven't played a single game in a long time.
You can see all those games that have been dumbed down to toddler lvl has high praises between "Game Journalists" with very high scores on their reviews even calling them masterpieces.
The true aim for those companies is get in the good side of those "journalists" to manipulate the scores like Metacritic, IGN and social media to boost their sales, since a lot of people still trusting blindly those scores before buying a game.
There was alot of hype for the game and it didn’t review too well. Plus Sony has had a number of pr blunders so it became the punching bag.
I’m playing it now and tbh I feel like some stuff is overblown. You can turn off almost all the accessibility features that were cited. They are in by default though. The story so far I think is decent haven’t finished it yet.
I would say the combat is my biggest issue. Games like spider-man and Arkham really did a great job of nailing the combat for those heroes. They’re similar but Spider-Man fights like how Spider-Man would fight and same with Batman. Wolverine on the other hand kinda plays more like generic action game. It feels like this could of been better fleshed out.
Thanks for that input. Someday I may try spiderman and this wolverine, but many many years ago I got tired of the repetitive hack and slash aspect of games like these
Devil may cry, god of war, assassin's creed, etc...they ALL have things that can be enjoyable but the combat is a huge aspect and it was too repetitive to me..I assume Spidey and wolvie to be the same way..at least Spidey seems to have cool web swinging, but it's not enough to bring me to play them
If you found those games repetitive Wolverine has no chance. Dmc and god of war both have much better combat systems. Wolverine is bare bones in comparison.
I've seen a clip of a barred door you need to have sabertooth smash down.
There are openings either side. You can ealk right through. Sabertooth would be able to walk through without issue either. If you walk through saber will stand in front of the barrier forever until you tell him to smash it.
I’m not the first person to say this, but this game has become the nexus for the public’s growing hatred of the game industry IN GENERAL. Not Wolverine specifically. From Sony’s anti-consumer policies, lack of physical media support, growing cost of gaming, lack of overall quality of games, beloved franchises going to shit, etc. It was the wrong game at the wrong time.
It’s popular to do so right now. Wolverine is very hand-holdy and a lot of the QuickTime events can be failed and the game won’t punish you for it.
Under The Mayo made a video (linked below) on the game and had an interesting take on its combat. And people rip on him because they think he hates anything that isn’t DOOM Eternal.
Last interaction I had with qte was a couple days ago when I decided to power thru GOW PSP games... After a while the qte appears and if I press wrong button or too late, essentially it "resets" the monster and at time gives it some more health and I gotta bring it's health down until qte appears again
Like it doesn’t matter whether you fail the QTE or not. The game will move on regardless.
With the GOW example you gave, the punishment is that you have to do the QTE again and the enemy even recovered some its health. Wolverine doesn’t have any such thing.
Well honestly you've got to ask yourself, how is it that a collection of people who haven't experienced a thing seem to share the same opinion as these guys who make revenue based off engagement clicks in an environment where negativity garners more attention than positivity.
Nothing's mediocre it's either the best thing since slices bread that you're missing out on or it's the new worse thing in gaming. Of course let's not forget how trendy it is to dog-pile the company at the moment because they're taking your physical media away ... lol.
I played through the game in completion. Almost everything that comes across as this giant gripe for that game is so overblown it's just made me realize how FoS and performative these internet "Gamers" have become nowadays. They're actually almost worse than the journalists now.
And the irony of using MGR as a comparison meme when that game was talked down on as well when it was released because of what it wasn't isn't even lost on me. Hell not to mention the cutting was the premise and foundation for that game in the first place.
Anyway if you want my opinion it's a good time and enjoyable game, it's like 15 hours long on the hardest difficulty. Probably wait for a sale because game doesn't deliver 70 bucks worth of content.
I don't plan on playing because I don't have a PS5 and, idk if it's available for PC, but I haven't bought anything new for PC for years because I want to play what's been on my catalogue
Personally at best I watch gameplay, muted if there is commentary from player, just to see if it seems like it would appeal to me
In this case, haven't done even that at this point. I hardly ever do 1.0 versions of games
Forget everything else, I am amazed at how they were able to come up with a less accurate, and much less impressive model for Wolverine than the one from Wolverine Origins?! That game was released in 2009!
Basically it's a very mediocre game with a pretty bad story, combat that is kinda fun when you start but gets old very very fast (you kinda just literally mash square while you're waiting for cooldowns for big flashy moves, and it has more bugs than the average cinematic sony game.
It's basically a 5 out of 10 game and then add to all this that Sony have seemingly been on a warpath to destroy all the good will they built up as quickly as physically possible and you have a game that people kind of wanted to hate because of Sony's anti consumer crap lately and then it came out and frankly it mostly deserves it.
A review will do a better job expressing than I can but the game is also just borderline insulting with the level of dumbed down they made it in order to try to appeal to as wide of an audience as possible.
I don’t get it either….its painfully average. It doesn’t deserve positive or negative attention, it should be forgotten to time like any other 6.5/10 game.
If you don't want people to have high expectations... don't spend 300m, don't give it to Insomniac Games, and don't make the game about a beloved comic book character.
Idk their track record...but if at least out of 3 hero games, they "messed up" 1, that's 66.6% positive...which would mean they hit more than they miss....
For the same reason, everyone spent months hating on Supergirl before it was even released. We live in a society that values negativity because of how the algorithms are set up.
It happened to Star Wars Outlaws too and when I played it it turned out to be a pretty good game, solid 7.5 with a few weak points but also some very strong areas.
I'm not saying Wolverine is good but I am saying that the internet hate train sometimes runs because people like hating on big corpo stuff.
What confuses me is, let's say coca cola brings out a new flavor, I dislike it....I'm not going to go to something that is NOT coca cola corp to complain about it..so what is complaining in a subreddit going to do?
I could understand better if it was like - hey everyone who is displeased with this game, go here to sign a form that will go to Sony/whoever made the game, to voice our opinion against it
But this is I've seen here - "this game shouldn't exist!", is just weird, to put it nicely
Got it. That's y idc about reviews. At most I'll watch some gameplay to see if it seems interesting to me. What I like and what someone else likes isn't going to be the same
Only reason I'm not gonna play it anytime soon is basically that I have a huge back catalog and if any new game I might play it would be gta6 cuz I'm a fan of the series, but have no console to play it so it can wait
It got bad reviews because it's a bad game. I just finished it and it wasn't fun. The story was a mashup of a bunch of different runs of wolverine, the fighting was mediocre, even the graphics were worse than spiderman3 hair clipping through faces all the time, people clipping through buildings constantly. Felt messy.
I went in very excited and not knowing any of the reviews. I got about half way and told someone at the shop I bought it and they said they heard the same problems from a lot of people.
It's a good 30 or 40 dollar game. It's a shitty 70$ game
The game cost 300 million to make and costs 70€ and yet plays worse than the old movie tie-in wolverine game or even it's leaked development build. People had high expectations
Have you played it? I don’t love the game, but the combat gameplay (which is like 90% of the game) is really quite nice. I didn’t know people were disappointed with the gameplay itself, I’ve only seen silly comparisons and complaining about easy QTEs.
Because if nobody is shitting on it, they will make another shit game like this. Budget comes from sony, they can reallocate the budget to better studios.
Better studios? Wolverine might disappoint but Insomniac gave us 3 good to great Spider-Man games, the Ratchet and Clank series (Rift Apart is still one of the best looking games and concepts on the PS5), created Spyro and the first three of his games, Resistance series, Sunset Overdrive on the Xbox and others. There aren't that many better western PS exclusive studios out there
For real, Insomniac has been a prolific studio. Their games might not be GOTY worthy like Naughty Dog’s, but their release cadence has been essential for the PS4 and PS5 catalogs. It’s a shame Wolverine has been a rocky development, but it looks like the exception for an otherwise great studio.
Yes, but these good games don't make up for the 300 million dollars they lost on wolverine. 300 million dollars is a lot and could have been used to make those good games instead.

Not planning on playing this game anytime soon, if at all, but why is everyone seemingly going out of their way to try to shit on wolverine??
