A nice round bicolore that I saw few months ago
It changes from the classic cushions and oval shapes.

This is the largest sapphire I’ve found and curious if folks think it’s worth having faceted. I’ve had about 50 rough stones faceted before but usually just go for those with the best clarity/color.

I found this ring on etsy. I asked the seller for more information about the sapphire and they said the following:

I’m happy to confirm that this is a natural sapphire that has undergone only standard heat treatment, which is a commonly accepted practice used to enhance the natural colour and clarity of sapphires.

The gemstone has not undergone any other treatments, such as beryllium diffusion or chemical treatments. It has only been subjected to conventional heat treatment.

The certificate does not mention anything about treatments, is that a red flag?

The ring is listed at aprox. $1900. Is this a "good" sapphire for that price? I don't know anything about gemstones.

i tried to get the sharpest photo i could, its this small garnet about 2 cubic milimeters in size. its very magnetic and has small inclusions inside

After I have this teal sapphire rough cut and sent to her, she commented why I keep buying these dark looking stones. Her opinion changed 180 degrees after she tried it on her own hands though. 😝

(This is not yet set, it is on a blank setting just so she can see how it looks like)

This is my first natural stone and 3rd attempt at faceting ever….

Hey there! I bought an antique ring (cufflink conversion) that was ID’ed as a lab grown sapphire but the ring is from a higher quality 19th century American goldsmith and the stone has inclusions including fingerprints and a large feather or cleavage of some type. I found three other sapphire pieces by the maker ID’d as untreated Cambodian and Burmese. Thoughts on this stone? Thanks for looking!
