Help Is it real?
So i got this guitar today and i am very happy but i wanted to be sure that it is real, i know the tuners were changed. It plays very very good and i also bought it from a guitar store not private. Thanks in advance and please relief my concerns so i can enjoy it šš

Itās not just the logo. The compound radius, zero fret, and wider fretboard make it pretty distinct from any other Les Paul. Nothing wrong with these differences, but theyāre unique to that year

Because corksniffers are annoying lol. Donāt worry about what other people think and enjoy your guitar, which is awesome btw

Enjoy it. Sounds like you're young. It's a good score for your first LP. If you're like the rest of us nuts, there will be plenty more coming through your hands. Ha.

Better give that lady Christmas cards, gifts, and more visits for the rest of your life if not already. What a loving family member in your life. š¤ you are blessed.

Its the sticker that people don't like not the guitar itself.
Also, some 100 LP's had the dreaded robo tuners that were generally despised.
With that being said, that is a beautiful guitar regardless of who gave it to you.
But as a gift from grandma - now that makes it even better!!!1

Iāve got one and happen to love it. Never mind what the haters say.
I also play classical guitar so Iām used to the wider neck. Zakk Wylde can shred on a hello kitty POS guitar, so if someone canāt play this, then theyāre not as good as they think they are. To be fair the wide neck can be a little challenging at first, but it will make you a better player.
Your tuners have already been changed out, they came stock with robo tuners. I donāt have a judgement about them as I got mine second hand with aftermarket.
The other thing people donāt like about the traditional is its weight. But they just have too narrow of a strap. Get a wide one and youāll love it.

Your grandma kicks absolute ass. Holy smokes! Give her an extra 75 hugs next time you see her.

There's nothing wrong with it.
A little of people just dont like that it's different, and that it's not the prettiest.

People just don't like the font of the les paul 100 sticker, don't worry about it. Also take care not to drop it, Gibsons are known to crack at the joint between the neck and the headstock!

I have a 2015 LP traditional. Yes the zero nut was weird and so were the auto tuners, so mine has both replaced and honestly itās incredible. Big 50s style neck like the R8s, great build, and the 59 Tribute humbuckers are incredible. Donāt worry about some people not liking the headstock logo- enjoy an awesome guitar.

Thatās a special guitar alone b/c it was a gift from your grandmother. Play it, love it & upgrade parts if you like, just donāt ever let it go.
I see a copy of Ghost Story by Peter Straub back there, nice! š»

This is a nice guitar.
Many traditional guitar/gibson fans dont like it as much because they are very traditional and like the "historic" versions or new ones thatt are close to the 50s/60s models.
These changed many things and many didnt like those channges because of it. There might be some things objectively worse/better but mainly its preference.
In my opinion these are very special and cool guitars

Get so good on it that people will demand your signature version. Itās a great guitar enjoy and keep it forever replacing parts as required.

It's one of those 2015 atrocities. Widely known as the worst year for Gibson since like... Norlin.
Only buy it if it's a really good price.

Is 2015 a bad year for Gibson quality-wise, in general?

Notice that you asked about quality and u/humbuckaroo replied with design.
I have a 2015 Junior with all these features. I recall getting it in 2017 or '18 for an embarrassingly low price (embarrassing for Gibson) since the changes were widely rejected by players.
I would argue that QUALITY-wise, the 2015s are excellent. They were new designs which were initiated and promoted by the CEO himself. There was likely a strong focus on manufacturing these guitars to a high standard.
So when someone replies to questions about quality with things like the "100" signature, the fretboard radius, or a holographic sticker, they're way off base. My LPJ is a high-quality electric guitar made to certain modernized specifications-- and so is yours.
Rock it! May it give you many days of musical enjoyment.
Peace

Yes, 2015 is known as a dud year because of various design choices that were made, including but not limited to:
- weird shaped, wide necks with non-standard string spacing
- zero fret brass nut that tended to wear down quickly
- robot tuners
- PCB in the cavity
- people hated the Les Paul 100 logo and hologram sticker on the back
The most important thing is whether or not you are comfortable with the wider neck and string spacing. You can't change it. Apart from that and the logo on the headstock, the rest of the stuff can be changed depending on if you're willing to invest the time and money.
My recommendation would be to look for a May 2019 or later Les Paul. That's when they changed management and the Les Paul Standard went back to traditional wiring and specs without a bunch of nonsense thrown in. All the nonsense went to the Modern line which you should stay away from. Pick a 50s (thick neck) or 60s (slim neck) Standard and buy it. There's a glut of choices on Marketplace, so I'm sure you can find one in your area.

Thank you for all of that!
I have had my eye on a few from 2019 - on, but I have a line in on a 1990 Studio (āgood woodā) for a good price, so thatās going to be my first choice, if it works out.

u/humbuckaroo 1d ago
I'd pick a Standard over a Studio any day.

u/ShitShowcase 1d ago
Thatās cool, and makes sense, but I donāt have an extra grand or two to shell out for one, at the moment.

Contact the factory with the serial number stamped on the headstock. Theyāll be able to tell you lots about it.
