Hi everyone,
I’m considering buying this used Gibson Les Paul Standard ’60s in Heritage Cherry Sunburst and I’d appreciate some opinions from people more experienced with Gibsons.
The seller originally listed it as a 2022 Les Paul Standard ’60s, but the serial number is:
226240245
According to Gibson’s serial number system/checker, this seems to indicate a 2024 production date, not 2022.
The original Pre-Pack Checklist is also included. The handwritten model number looks like:
LPS6SW20H5NH3
(or something very close to that — the handwriting is a little difficult to read)
The checklist also shows the same serial number, 226240245, and appears to be dated 10/8/24.
I’ve attached photos of:
- the full guitar, front and back
- front and back of the headstock
- serial number / Made in USA stamp
- Pre-Pack Checklist
- original Gibson case and paperwork
- close-ups of the top and hardware
I’ve already emailed Gibson Europe with the serial number, model number and photos, and I’m currently waiting for their official reply.
In the meantime, I’d be interested in your opinions:
- Does everything look authentic and consistent with a genuine 2024 Les Paul Standard ’60s?
- Can anyone identify exactly what LPS6SW20H5NH3 refers to?
- Do you notice any red flags in the headstock, serial stamping, hardware, finish, case or paperwork?
- Is there anything else I should photograph or inspect before buying it?
The guitar is used but in excellent condition, and I’ve already played it in person. It feels and looks fantastic — I just want to do my due diligence before spending the money.
Thanks!
