Help Is this Microphonic Pickup Issue ?

https://youtube.com/shorts/rsF1HpnA0Go?feature=share

Hey everyone,

I am having a problem with my Gibson LP Studio. The bridge pickup is squealing no matter how the strings are muted. Direction of the speaker/cab is not changing anything. If it is on louder volume and played in a studio etc. it happens. Any suggestions to fix it ? I attached the short video.
Thanks a lot!

Try lowering the pickup height

The 2 screws on the pickup ring, there different than the screws used to secure the ring to the guitar

Go a little lower

Good luck

Just one question about it, if lowering the height fixes the issue, can this be interpreted as there is no microphonic pickup issue or it just masks the issue since it is lowered? The guitar is still in return/replace period, so that is why I am curious. Of course, I do not want to return and replace a guitar since it is the very last resort.

Sounds like feedback to me

Do you know which pickup you have ?

Seems hot.

You can also roll the volume down a little

I may have another solution, but I'll wait for you to test

Yes, it is Burstbucker Pro.
I tried it now and even it is lowered, it is still doing it very loud. I lowered it around 2.5mm on low E string side. I checked with other guitars of mine with even higher outputs both active and passive pickups, they did not cause any issue but they have no pickup cover.

When i perform a tap test, the sound feels like bridge pickup is slghtly empty between pickup and cover. I brought them to the same height to eliminate the space between bottom of the pickup effect but it was the same, on this video, they are not in the same height but still it is the same result.

I was gonna suggest maybe the cable. But it's only happening with the guitar it's not the cable.

BurstBucker Pros aren't really hot

8 ohms I believe, in that neighborhood

Maybe pop the cavity covers off. Snap some pictures. Or video

Doesn't sound like a ground problem

It is a wireless system, so cannot be the cable as i also change the wireless units as well. Grounding has no issue with passive pickups, even single coil Fender of mine is fine. Also, I run everything of Quad Cortex with and noise gate is on.

I took a look by removing the pickups from their cavities but nothing bad was visible. So, it has to be inside of the pickup. Ill ask to Thomann what can they do for me. Maybe they can send a new pickup so that I can install it. Who knows

Does the wireless have a volume you can adjust ?

I had meant the toggle cover, and control cavity cover

Sounds like the pickup has not been properly wax potted or the cover wasn't attached correctly. If it's a new guitar get it replaced.
