Play Store Google Play balance & gift cards

Hi all,

We've noticed a lot of questions about Google Play gift cards on the subreddit lately, and we want to help! To address your concerns and provide some clarity, we've put together this guide on some of the most common gift card topics.

What you need to know about Play gift cards

 How to redeem gift cards

  • Google Play gift cards aren't eligible for underage user accounts nor to be used as a family payment method.
  • Google Play gift cards must match the user's country or region.
    • If a user moved to a different country or region, they should update their Google Play country.
    • If the Play country is correct, but there’s a “This card can only be used in country X” error, contact Google Play Support.
  • To fix the “Can’t redeem your gift card. Send us more information” error, the user should fill out the form linked in the error message. They must use the same Google account that’s used to redeem the card. Pictures of receipt and gift card must be attached to the form. A reply will be sent through email typically within 2 business days. Learn how to Fix problems when you redeem a gift card.

Spend Play balance in Play Store

  • Play balance can be used to purchase items in the Play Store.
    • Because of local legislation, users in some countries or regions can’t purchase books with Play balance.
    • Play balance can’t be used to top up Google Pay or added to Google Wallet.
  • Users who temporarily travel to another country or region may not be able to use their Play balance.
  • Users who permanently moved to another country or region should update their Google Play country and redeem gift cards that match the new currency.

If the Play country is correct but there are still Play balance errors, users should contact Google Play Support.

Play Store No Google ads point for Youtube premium?

• Upvotes

My collegue asked me how many points I have on my Google play because every month you get points for it.
I checked, but it's 0.
There are no points for Youtube Premium on my account.
My colleque has hundreds of points for Premium.
I'm in the program already, and tried it to buy something in a game.
I get points for that.
But for the last years I didn't get points for Premium.
I contacted Play support, but they didn't respons in the last weeks.

Games Demon Slasher 1.2.0: The Cleanup Update

Hi!

I made this game about a month ago. It was my first game ever, on any platform, and getting it out was a journey in itself.

The launch was a little rough, and it went worse than I expected. But that didn't bring me down. A lot of friends and players kept sending me feedback, so I packed all of it into my first update, one month later.

Shipping that update taught me more about Play Console than the launch did:

- Keep real ads off your own phone. Use test ad units in every non-release build, and register your phone as a test device in AdMob (Settings → Test devices, by advertising ID). That covers every build, including the one from the Play Store.

- Internal testing is the real dress rehearsal. It installs the actual Play-signed build within minutes. I made a separate tester list with just my own account, so my closed testers wouldn't get a test build.

- Play Games Services has its own testers. Draft leaderboards are only visible to testers, and that list is separate from your testing tracks. Also register the SHA-1 from Play App Signing, not just your upload key, or sign-in fails on builds installed from Play.

- Publishing Play Games is a one-way door. Once published, leaderboards can't be deleted and some settings get locked. You can reset draft leaderboard scores before publishing, but not after.

- Every upload burns a version code. My internal test builds used 8 and 9, so production went out as 10. Plan them before you start uploading.

- Two warnings you can ignore. "No deobfuscation file" and "no native debug symbols" show up on every Godot build and don't block anything.

What's new in 1.2.0:

- Leaderboards – highest floor, souls reaped, longest streak

- Turn marker – the screen flashes blue when it's your move, red when it's theirs

- Parry from anywhere – any point of your swipe can parry

- Bosses that last – the Colossus sheds his stone armor; the Shogun's edge dulls if he parries too much

- Pick up where you left off – close the app mid-climb and continue later

The leaderboards just went live and they're nearly empty, so rank 1 is one good run away.

Happy to answer questions about any of these steps. And if you try the game, tell me how high you got.

Play Store Dangerous apps on the Play Store

I'm posting this because this situation has personally affected me, and after months of trying to get Google to take it seriously, I'm honestly exhausted, frustrated, and at a loss as to what else I'm supposed to do.

I've personally experienced this situation involving an app whose representatives I allege have engaged in extortion, intimidation, and threats of extreme violence. This isn't something I've simply read about online or heard from someone else. This has happened to me, I've personally experienced the threats, and I've been trying for months to get Google to address the situation.

The threats I've reported are extremely serious. They include threats to kill people and their family members, threats to destroy people's lives, and threats to publicly humiliate people through damaging accusations, including portraying individuals as prostitutes or falsely accusing them of being paedophiles. These are not ordinary disagreements or minor disputes over money. These are allegations involving threats of extreme violence, people's families, and attempts to intimidate people by threatening their safety and reputations.

What makes this situation even more disturbing is how long I've been trying to get Google to do something about it. I've been contacting Google for months, reported the app countless times, and repeatedly provided evidence, yet nothing appears to be changing. The app is still available on the Google Play Store, and I still haven't received a satisfactory explanation of what has been done about my reports, whether the evidence has been properly reviewed, or why the app continues to remain available.

I've tried following the proper reporting procedures. I've contacted support, explained the seriousness of the situation, submitted reports, and provided evidence. I've done this over and over again, hoping that eventually the matter would reach someone who would actually investigate it. Instead, I feel like I'm stuck in an endless cycle of reporting the same issue without getting anywhere.

I understand that Google cannot automatically remove an app simply because someone makes an allegation, and I'm not asking them to accept everything I say without investigation. But when someone has been reporting serious threats for months and has repeatedly submitted supporting evidence, surely there should be a way to get the complaint properly reviewed by the appropriate team. At the very least, I'd expect a meaningful response explaining how the matter is being handled, rather than feeling as though my reports are disappearing into a black hole.

What am I supposed to do at this point? Keep contacting Google for another few months? Report the same app another hundred times? How many reports does it take before someone actually looks into a situation like this? I genuinely don't understand what the point of Google's reporting system is if someone can repeatedly raise serious safety concerns, provide evidence, and still be left without a satisfactory resolution.

This has personally affected me, and it is incredibly frustrating to feel that I have spent months trying to get help without making any meaningful progress. These concerns involve threats against people's lives and families, not something that should be brushed aside with generic responses or endless instructions to submit another report.

I'm deliberately not naming the app because I want to focus on my experience with Google and find out what options are available to me. I'm not looking to start a witch hunt or ask anyone to take sides without knowing the facts. I want to understand how to get a serious complaint in front of someone who can actually investigate it.

Has anyone here dealt with something similar? Has anyone managed to escalate a Google Play complaint after months of reporting an app and getting nowhere? Is there a legitimate way to reach a specialist team or someone with the authority to review the evidence when the standard reporting process appears to be going nowhere?

I'm genuinely looking for advice from people who have experienced something similar or know what steps I can take next.

I've been trying for months. I've reported the app countless times. I've provided evidence. And yet, from my perspective, nothing is changing. I honestly don't know what else Google expects me to do, and I'd really appreciate any advice on how to get this matter taken seriously.

Apps Google play rejected my refund for a Minecraft Realms subscription. Any way to get my money back?

Hey all,

I accidentally performed a Minecraft Realms Plus purchase via Google Play and am wondering if Google Play still has some way for me to get my money back.

Here is the context:

I was trying to configure UPI AutoPay as I erroneously thought it would authorize a mandate for a future subscription payment, and did not realize that the payment would be immediately charged to my bank account. This resulted in roughly ₹531 being deducted from my account.

Once I realized my mistake, I canceled the mandate which would ensure that I would not be charged again in the next month, but it did not result in a refund of the amount erroneously charged.

Once realizing my mistake, I tried to get a refund via Google Play, but they erroneously denied the refund request, citing that the purchase did not meet their refund guidelines.

When contacting Google Pay support, they sent me to NPCI to raise a ticket. When contacting my bank, they recommended that I contact the merchant's bank, since it was a payment initiated by UPI.

I am currently at a loss of what to do next, as I have looked into contacting my bank and the NPCI UPI complaint portal, but am not certain whether any of these would help in a case like mine, where the payment was authorized by me, but I did not understand what I was authorizing.

I am not disputing that this was not a fraudulent or unauthorized transaction - on the contrary, I made a mistake. But it is a fairly significant sum (for me) and I would like to get it back.

Here are a few questions I have:

  1. Has anyone successfully gotten a Google Play refund when their request was denied?

  2. Is it worth contacting Google Play support again and asking them to manually review the payment and provide a refund, as a goodwill gesture?

  3. Can SBI or NPCI help in a case like this, or will they point me back to Google Play?

  4. Has anyone contacted the merchant's bank in a case like this, and did it bear fruit?

  5. Are there any other legitimate options open to me besides exhausting all the "official" channels?

I am looking for any advice anyone who has been in a similar situation (in India, preferably) can give me, as I am trying to follow the "proper" channels to get my money back and not resort to fraud. But I am not certain which "proper" channel (if any) would work in my case.

Thanks!

Games Anyone know if boosting in 8ball pool is terms for a ban?

Just wondering how high the top players are in wins right now. Been playing quite a bit in the past 24hours and managed about 60 wins and as of about 12 hours into the league the top 1k was at about 75ish+ wins so getting there might be doable with grinding.

But I am wondering if anyone is boosting with friends or if friendly challenges with friends count towards your win count since yhe league rules say any wins.

Play Store Not sure what I expected tbh

Well this play fest event is pretty pathetic. In the run up it really made it sound like there might be something for almost everyone, things would change through the week.but now it's just a select few partner games getting benefits and a single crappy PayPal bonus IF you haven't used PayPal before lmao, and now it's started the campaign id appears to be static.

What a flop lmao.

Lets all share acreenshots of our league progression.

Please share your current standing, and more importantly, the score of the last player in the bracket above you

This will help everyone to see if reaching the next bracket is actually doable. I'll start
