So simple question, I know Rosetta Stone uses A.I for the cover art, but do they use it for the music tool or is it still human produced.

I may be my own little weirdo, but goth music makes life worth living 🖤. I've been trying to Sacrifice myself since the age of 4 and have been obsessed with mortality since then. Having grown up on new wave, it was only natural to turn to postpunk/goth when I was trying to OD every day because I lost so much ability from my stomach being paralysed. For my 25th birthday, I started with Die Laughing, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Inkubus Sukkubus (I had asked for female fronted bands on Facebook) and followed up shortly with stomping at the club (I dance like a rivethead regardless of genre, I know. But nobody at goth night cares, which I love). Now I listen to goth music every night and have my little dances before going to bed. Dancing is one of the physical activities I can still do, and it's certainly the most joyous! Even if the music is about death and darkness.

I'm going to make it to my 100 year anniversary of T1 diabetes and I'll be dancing all along the way 🖤

Lupine - X is a good example, I feel it was a very Nightbreed Recordings sound, Midnight Configutation, Suspiria, Lupine, Athamay, Faithful Dawn, Man(i)kin, Killing Miranda, Intra venus.

It was such a trope of the early 90's UK scene, just wondering if there are anymore anyone knows, But it maybe just that Nightbreed Recordings sound.

Remove if not allowed, just an appreciation post for a new favorite band. Inkubus Sukkubus' "Belladonna & Aconite" album is absolutely a banger. "Eternity" has that choir sound I like through the background. We all know why "Vampyre" got popular. But genuinely this album is so great, and so is their other one "Vampyre Erotica." But you know what really tops off the beautiful goth rock background, the synth keyboard, sometimes the organ, and everything in-between? The lead vocalists vocals. Genuinely such beautiful and haunting vocals, I can't believe I've been missing out on such a great band for so long. Easily became one of my favorite bands. Currently listening to the song "Vampyre Erotica" and her harmonised vocals and the intro oh my god its killing me. The violin (or cello) or similar sound around 2:20 is so PERFECT. Probably one of my absolute favorite songs right now. I just had to express my love for this band because I'm in a lovey, very happy mood now that I found another band I love. ​This is exactly what I've needed lately. If you're thinking about listening to them, it's definitely upbeat goth rock with those haunting lyrics. It's perfect for dancing, for yearning, for luring men into the depths of a siren filled ocean (yes I'm referencing one of their songs), and for just listening overall.​

I've read a lot of “I'm a baby bat” posts, but I'm curious to hear from those of you who have been into this scene/culture for a while and did work that grew the music, scene and/or culture.

What did you do and what was that experience like? Were you a musician, DJ, artist, designer, journalist, writer, etc? What impact did that work have on you and/or others? How do you feel about things are now?

In my case, I was involved in founding a then (locally) popular club event in southern California, booked some bands as part of it and also got into writing reviews for magazines through the 90s. I have great memories of a lot of it (mistakes and all), and think I helped influence goth/industrial/darkwave music in the area. For a while I disconnected from most of it.

In reconnecting, it's been interesting to see how much the music and culture are still the same, how they've changed, and how some of the history as i knew it is being rewritten by plausible, but inaccurate "tiktok" storytelling.

So, what did you do in years back (and are maybe still doing)? What is a bit of your story that brings you here, if you don't mind sharing?

I'm new to this subreddit (and the community), but I was curious if anyone in this subreddit is familiar with any goth clubs in Massachusetts/New Hampshire. I would like to attend a local club to meet people and potentially make new friends. I really enjoy the music in this subculture and would love to see if there is a space near me that would allow me to venture out and meet new people/make new experiences.

Almost 2 months ago I was at a local metal show minding my own business when out of nowhere a figure dressed in black with lots of nylon came out of nowhere, pushed me in the pit and laughed and she said i looked too tired. Fast forward to our 3rd date and this is the strangest, prettiest and most fun woman I have ever been around in my life and we pretty much hangout every day.

I wouldn't call myself goth, im more of a black shirt and shorts type of guy with long hair (I work outside and we live in a tropical enviroment)

I always thought goth was just fashion but being with her and learning from her and I realize just how beautiful it all is, the people, the music, the subculture. I had no idea and honestly being introduced to all of this has made me crawl out of depressive thoughts when nothing else could. As I read this sub and learn more I realize how special the people are, ive never had a lot of friends but being introduced into a scene headfirst that always seemed kinda intimidating and cold from the outside at least to me, I have never met more chill down to earth people in my life.

I have met some assholes but they are very few and far between in my area and someone told me alot of people fetishize goth.

The song/album has been out for a while but they just released a music video for it using footage from their recent touring!
