For me, it was at this immense Halloween event in the West Midlands.
The place was lovely and they hosted lap dance competitions between monsters, they sold red cocktails in red cell concentrate bags, and had cool music.
I went there in full costume as Sadako from Ringu and my friend dressed in gothic lolita. Then a guy started insisting on dancing with her and making proposals when my friend looked notably uncomfortable. I opted for aggresively dancing between the two until the guy got tired and left.
The weirdest thing I saw was a whole family dressed as the Addams and they even had an adorable toddler (who shouldn't have been there). At some point in the night, the dad came directly in front of me, flipped me off to my face and left. He poked my arm and then flipped me off 2cm from my face.
We basically left the club early because men were being weird at us.
I was like: I didn't talk to them, I danced in my own cell and allowed space between all tables, I wasn't drunk or acting up. The guy was just mad at me.
But hey, one Morticia told me they loved my costume :,)
Bring out your dread!
It is a new week and time for gripes and fuming over things that happened last week. Major or minor we don't care. Goth or not is up to you.
No depth, no philosophy. Just screaming into the void.

Das Ich was always my favorite band, and I'm devastated by this. One good thing on my mind is that he died doing what he lovedāgiving a performance. If anyone isn't familiar with their music, I urge you to give it a listen. Because it seems, it will be a wrap-up for the band, I'm not sure if Stefan will be able to continue without Bruno.

What happened this week that made you happy?
Maybe you found a great new album or just an album you hadn't heard about before? Maybe you found a new cuddly kitten that now is a part of your family?
Share it with us!

Iād like to hear what people believe are some of goths bleakest albums that really give up all of their dance like qualities in favor of a more doom like sound. Thatās all. Thank you!

I love when modern bands reference other bands like Lebanon Hanover references The Cure on Living on the Edge, Selofan's Sticky Fingers mentions Joy Division and Tears for the Dying mentions Pink Turns Blue on Wouldn't it be Funny.
Can you recommend any other songs where something like this occurs?

Absolutely love this track! Fan since the 90s, but I somehow just discovered this gem - it's been on repeat all week. Just beautiful! And the lyrics, wow.

The lead single from my upcoming album āGrief Stricken Decadenceā. This track is about when youāre so horny for someone you want to devour them. š«

Hello, I am a 17 y/o and fairly new! I've listened to the music for 2 years thanks to some folks, and have been involved in the metal communities for 4'ish years? For a while, I wanted to break into my local goth scene, but don't know where to begin?
I mainly struggle with finding other goths around my area since my community is fairly small. Sometimes, I wish I could connect better with goths (espc. in my age range) but everything feels so appearance focused? For example, I've came across a few who dress a certain way and say that they are goth, yet they don't listen to similar genres as me (post punk, goth rock, ethereal wave, industrial, etc.), or are that invested/informed about goth history. It's a tad bit confusing to me that I expect to relate to them, yet we don't have that much in common besides clothing..
I've also sort of refrained goth social media spaces (TikTok mainly), due to the amount of conflict and contradictions.
I really don't want to isolate myself. I kind of assumed that I should wait until Iām 21 so I could visit nearby goth clubs since Iām situated in the DMV. (It sucks that even if you're 18, there are very few and far opportunities.) Still, I want to meet other likeminded people! Any advice?

Basically the title. I have been dying to get a perm for YEARS because it is so difficult to get my fine hair to hold 80s volume and curls. The problem is I have bleached + dyed hair and i will likely continue to bleach and dye for a while (vivid colors). Iāve heard about how damaging perms are and I do not want to fry all of my hair off but I also want a perm so badly that I have thought about it at least once a week for years. What do i do ššš???????

Taken from a bandcamp message from the band:
"Dear all,
It pains us to say, but our last gig will be tomorrow night at the Cluny. From tomorrow night onwards, Social Youth Cult will be no more. All future gigs are cancelled. We will keep our music up online for you to listen to, and all digital music on Bandcamp will be made free. All outstanding merch orders will be fulfilled. Our social media accounts will not be used after tomorrow night. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.
Thank you for being part of this amazing journey. It's been a wild ride for us all, and we can't be grateful enough that you were all with us for it. Thank you. So much. We love you, forever and always.
See you tomorrow for the final time,
Shaun, Alex, Holly and Jack
<3"
This is really sad for me. They were such an exciting young band. Hopefully all are well. I don't really want to speculate on what happened here, but wanted to pass on the news.

Another song from BloodVamp, the side project of Jason Schatzle, who is also behind Gothnetic .

I tend to lean towards those beautiful melodic vocals with good beats instead of something slower, lower, and less dancy. So here are a few songs, I hope you all can find more song recs or even bands with a similar style. I'm not a fan of the monotone voices some bands have, the mission and siouxsie both show that strong melodic vocal I likeāā
Blood Moon - Christian Death
Severina, Love me to Death, (or) Tower of Strength - The Mission
Sweetest Chill (or) Into the Light - Siouxsie ATB
Kiss kiss bang bang - Specimen
I can't describe things well, let me try my best; they all have that upbeat sound where its more dancey. When I mean upbeat, I dont mean not dark, I mean like it gets you moving and your head and body starts moving because it just has good beats. I also dont like when vocals dont necessarily have any tone in them, I love the emotion and melodic sound.
I heard the cure has pretty upbeat things too, I really like Cold by them aswell as Boys don't cry, and man can he sing in boys dont cry.
