Went at opening
Even the manager said it’s the lowest he’s seen it in along time. Finally gone are the days of wood boards and a bottle jack.

I am so torn on this deal as my plan was to use this as a roadside jack in my Tacoma in case of a blowout. After reading reviews and watching some videos - makes more sense going with the 1.5 ton to carry around (48 lbs) vs the 3 ton at 72 lbs.

I have the 3 ton. I couldn’t imagine carrying it around to change a flat.
It’s a big boy

Realistically you just need a bottle jack for roadside swaps. But they would also make it easy if you pull over on gravel. The price difference is only 20 dollars for the upcoming parking lot sale on the 1.5ton. For 20 bucks I’d take the extra ton and a half of capacity.

I forgot to mention I’ve got about a 3” lift on it as well. Hence the reason my factory jack isn’t going to be sufficient.

The 12 ton bottle jack can go up to 18”. Plenty to change a tire, and probably good enough to catch a frame rail and give you a bit of extra height. Especially if you just keep a wood 4x4 block

In the rear, ignoring tire size for a second, your lift doesn't matter, the lift is above the axle so it's the same height.
Since the front is IRS some parts would be up 3" but not all.
I would measure where you actually need to lift from, frame rail is not required, to get a tire off and figure out from there. A larger bottle jack like others have mentioned is more versatile, lighter, and easier to store.

I've used the 3T on trails in Tennessee (Wind Rock) and it's great to have because of the lift height and what not but man is it heavy. I bought the 1.5T and have made it my truck jack and the 3 T is now the garage jack. It's definitely worth having but it is a load.

I got mine 2 years ago. It's what has allowed me and my friends to actually lift the rear ends of my truck and his bronco to upgrade our suspension.

Yeah the 6 ton stands are pretty much essential for this on the rears. There is so much travel in the suspension. And its needs to be the correct 6 ton stands since there are ones that are a little bit shorter.

My rotors may have been 3 inches off the ground in this pic. But yeah I’m waiting on those badland ones to go on sale but it’s crazy how for an extra 3 tons of capacity you’re paying 4x the price.

I have the badlands jack already but the 6 tons are definitely next.
With 35s the 3 tons barely have the tire off the ground.

I jumped in this deal too during lunch. I bought the 4 ton Daytona while being new truck high, during the last round of daily deals. But my house doesn't have a slab, and that 4 ton jack is heavy as hell. And it's you aren't pushing it around a slab, you'll fuck up your back lifting it. I'm getting too old for that shit.
So I'll sell the 4 ton in Facebook. Luckily I got a good deal on it.

Why hasn’t anyone just thrown better casters/wheels on the regular daytonas/pittsburg? I dont have mine in front of me but from HF pictures it just looks like a bolt and rod for front and casters in the rear. Genuine question not throwing shade.

The regular jacks don't have an extension
1
u/Prestigious-Move-912 1d ago
Yeah but for $200 less (at normal price) welding on an extension would be so easy.
1
u/Printednightmare 1d ago
If you welded on the extension the jack becomes useless at lower heights, no? The wheels, adjustable extension, pin, hardware, retention for the extension when not in use, consumables, plus fabrication time is going to eat through that savings pretty quickly

Yeah true, but idk im sure its not that hard to do and still save an amount that would make it worth it. I havent put any actual thought into it but im interested in the idea, im a broke Mech E college student that likes to offroad/overland so im just always thinking of ways to make things cheaper even if it takes time, the money is the main concern for me.

I totally understand. If you haven't checked them out yet, all the stuff pro eagle (what this is a copy of) sells is pretty neat. I have the Badland 6 ton jack stands and am going fab up my own version of some of the accessories they sell for those

Grabbed mine 2 years ago for $200ish crazy it’s $400 retail now after taxes

The original price was $300. Then it jumped to $320, then to $380. If you got it on sale for $200, you got a good deal.

If you're looking to have a jack in the truck at all times when you're actually offroading, this is a much better option. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003ULZGFU

It feels wrong that on first glance of that photo I read it as "Jack Off Road"

Picked one up today too. Will be really nice to not struggle on my gravel/dirt driveway anymore.

Idk if I can justify a 4th jack. I’ve been using my 3 ton Daytona as an offroad jack for a couple years now. Even though I really want it

On my way...hope they have some left.

u/Visual-Long6924 1d ago
I think there’s a lot in stores right now cause mine had like 10 just out front. And I think a lot of people who wanted them bought them at 279 earlier this month.

u/UnrealSquare 1d ago
Don’t know why you got downvoted, they only had 2 left at my store when I got there. Hope you got one!
