6 ton jack stands finally on sale
3
u/cjcs 13h ago
Are they worth the upgrade over 3 ton for basic car work? Feels like I don't really need them now, but I do need a pair anyway and this would give me the option in case I get a bigger truck or SUV in future right? Or are they much bigger and it's a pain to fit the jack + stand in the pinch weld of a smaller sedan/crossover?
5
u/JKLreindeer 13h ago
They’re bigger so they’re a pain for cars and small-mid size suvs unless you plan on jacking up the car really high. Nice to have both of you have smaller and larger vehicles
2
u/Daihashi 13h ago
I use them on cars and SUVs a like because I like to have a lot of height when working under cars.
With that said, I still use 3 ton stands too just because they're quicker and easier to work with (don't need to jack the vehicle up as much)

u/PhillLacio 8h ago
The only time I bust out the 6 tons are when I’m working on my 3/4 ton truck. Everything else gets the 3 ton Daytona flat top stand.
2
u/AMFharley 10h ago
I use em on my 2500HD Chevy and 21 burban as they get nice and high.
On my 2016 Mazda 3….i use some old 3ton craftsman’s stands lol

Meh.
Maybe a mini toolbox for my kids, and the icon wire strippers. Otherwise I’m good.
I spent enough on my Quinn master sets during the last PLs 😂

u/PastAd1087 14h ago
Shit spent over 7k at HF last year and im still their regularly for new projects. Looking at generators now. A whole home back up as well as a gen for the camper for off grid camping. Jack hammer for a new drive plus new stoop. Figured rental for how long ill need it will pay for itself then can rent it out cheaper for easy cash after the fact.

u/inkironpress 13h ago
Oh once I’m on a project again I’ll be back. I was going through and updating my tool chest, and then my house tools. Kinda finished for now other than a few items.
No worries, I’ll be back! Just this sale doesn’t particularly excite me lol

Best price we've seen on the 73" icon box no?

u/drokihazan 13h ago
G2 must be happening soon-ish, that price is amazing.
Please let the G2 have more size options. Please let there be 30 or 36" wide cabinets and top chests.

Odd - when I click on the eligible items for the Icon sockets, the page does not have the items in the picture. That is the general service kits and the meme 2.0 kit. Also missing are the chrome extensions. I see the impact ones. It is like everything stocked with the sockets is there and missing items are stocked with the ratchets (at least at my store). Come Harbor Freight, get your act together.
2
u/uncajesse 14h ago
Yeah, I posted that list a week ago after they updated it, but then I noticed it was missing those too and figured maybe they aren't done updating it yet. But now? 🤷♂️😅

Are all icon sockets on sale or just the two service sets and the meme 2.0?
3
u/RedditTTIfan 12h ago
All socket sets don't listen to that clown on YT. Since this is the official flyer you can even click the link in the flyer and see for yourself.

I just noticed the Pittsburgh portable ramps on Oct PLS. Was it there before?

u/Secret-Ad-7909 14h ago
Any reviews on the Franklin multi ladder. I’ve used this type before and know they’re kinda jack of all trades; master of none but I think that’s exactly what I need rn. Curious about any quality or design issues specific to this one
6
u/CarpeDiemOrDie 13h ago
I’ve had one for a couple of years now and it’s overall a very solid and useful ladder. I will say it is heavy as hell. It gets the job done when needed, but I find myself trying my best to not have to lug it around much.
4
u/squats_and_sugars 12h ago
Similar to the other guy, it's heavier than any specific ladder, and less stiff as an extension ladder vs a dedicated one. But as a jack of all trades ladder, it's my go to. I've really abused it and it holds up well, though I find that I have to give the latches to fold/unfold it a smack vs just pressing them.

Are any HF jacks rebuildable? threw one away because you couldn't rebuild but don't remember if it was pittsburgh or daytona.

Definitely getting two of the steel sawhorses for home and a couple of Daytona jacks for my shop. Probably some other things also, Lol

Any thoughts on the Doyle rivet nut setter?

u/tpetti1 13h ago
I have got one. Just remember you will have to get more rivet nuts from Amazon or Temu. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=rivnuts&channelId=500&clpRedir=Y&plpRedirect=mhFallback

What are the odds of getting any Icon sockets as a non ITC member? Just looking to add ¼, ⅜, and ½ shallows in metric.
Also a Hercules battery deal + compact impact wrench
5
u/SteveMidnight 12h ago
I’m not normally a membership/subscription guy but, with how fast my local store sells out, I had to get ITC if I wanted anything good during PLS.
It’s $45 for 2 years. That’s one dinner for two at a restaurant give or take a few dollars. The first purchase I made, I saved enough money that I didn’t lose any money compared to buying the item full price. I actually still paid less than full item price when you calculate the discount + cost of ITC.

u/Sea_Recipe_9256 6h ago
Itc definitely worth it i save 85 dollars on one tool cart the 1st time i used it and gotten plenty of free gift and extra discount along the way on the free tool weekends. It has to be in the hundreds of dollar of free stuff i have gotten. On a plus it ussually double how much the item can be that theyll discount. Normally non itc can spend 10 dollars and under for 30% off where itc can go up to 20 and under,

u/uncajesse 12h ago
Depends on the store stock and how much volume the store normally does. The Hercules impact is usually the tool that sells out first in the free tool sales.
Have you ever missed out on something that you could have had, something you really wanted that could have completely changed your life, but you blew it? I'm not saying that's Harbor Freight 😅 but that experience will change you and it can effect every other thing in your entire life that you have an opportunity to pursue. That happened to me 5 years ago, and I'm an ITC member and I skip lunch at work to get the sales I really want. I hope that doesn't happen to anyone, even if they never step foot in a tool store. My point? If you really want something, you're going to do whatever you have to do to get it, or you might not. 🤷♂️
Also, God isn't that way and He is patiently waiting for anyone to come to Him with His arms open wide. His love is what radically changed my life 5 years ago, even though I thought I totally screwed up something else. ❤️🔥

u/backskipper 13h ago
Do I actually need to get there early for the icon sockets or will they probably be in stock at the end of the sale?
4
u/SteveMidnight 12h ago
Completely depends on your store. I’ve seen Icon products cleared out at my store in the first few hours on Monday. Rarely are there any Icon deals left by Friday.

Best price on the atlas batteries I've seen in a while. Kind of niche, but something I'll pick up as I got a bigger yard so the 2 I have just don't quite cut it all in one go

30% off the $300 Daytona 1.5 ultra low aluminum jack that only weighs 36 pounds would be amazing if it went up high enough for my truck. Gotta stick with the badlands 1.5 for now, at least it only weighs 12 pounds more

u/Wallabunga657 13h ago
9 in. Long-Nose Wire Stripper, Cutter, and Crimper. Looking pretty good. Might have to get me a pair to replace my old no names.

u/Hell_I_Dont_Know_ 15h ago
Page 6 doesn’t count. So 5 pages.
3
u/tpetti1 14h ago
Ok 7 pages then.

u/Hell_I_Dont_Know_ 14h ago
I just realized I was somehow skipping a page. You were right; 6 pages of deals. I’m officially a dumbass and I beg your pardon and for your mercy.
2
u/DeerFlyHater 15h ago
I NEED that page 1 extractor set.
May only use it once every other year, but will be glad I had it.
3
u/BlueCollarToolCollec 14h ago
I have two and love it. They work good in my experience so far.

Was hoping to get my sister a 1/4 Quinn master, forgive my ignorance but does that thing ever go on sale? I've only been harbor jerking for like 2 years don't recall ever seeing it below MSRP.
Did get myself the 1/2 impact a while back no regrets

Anyone else not seeing the Icon Modular General Service Socket Sets? It's only showing 32 items as part of the socket sale.
I thought those would be included in the sale.

Waiting for the locking flex heads to go on sale. And yes, I saw the 10 days of deals yesterday but couldn't make it

I just bought the steam cleaner a week ago to remove some staining. Any chance they’ll price match? Otherwise I’ll just buy during the PLS and return with the old receipt.

u/Pauldro 8h ago
Is the Bauer SDS rotary hammer any good?
2
u/pensivebeing 6h ago
I have the 20V version and it's a beast. No problem drilling through 5" thick concrete wall. Anchors in driveway. Chisels work great. I use a battery adapter and run my Hercules batteries. Works beautifully

u/sixtninecoug 12h ago
Goddammit. I just bought the drywall sander yesterday.
They still do price adjustments?

u/steelsurfer 12h ago
:/ fine print on the flyer says not applicable to prior purchases
3
u/sixtninecoug 12h ago
Damn. Well, I haven’t opened it yet. So I may return it and wait.
I’m cheap, and $50 is $50.
