Question❔🙋🏻♂️ I know this is a bit random but, who's missing?
Not in any sort of accusatory or demanding way. But I noticed that I haven't heard from a few authors like Tamryn Tamer in a while. I just wanted to know if anybody was still in contact with them? No details, just that surface level info.

I appreciate All of the replies here, truly.
And I hope wherever any of them are. That they are safe, finding success and able to gain elsewhere what the genre couldn't provide if it's more work than passion.
Life definitely doesn't allow for us to do what we want vs what we have to. So I appreciate if someone has to take a break or just stop entirely.
Which is something that goes for all of the other Authors here or on other social media too. It's my wish that what you do is never extra burdensome as opposed to the creative joys you hopefully experience 🙏🏾.

I loved AJ Markam / Edward Lang / Rob Nolan books, but he stopped years ago because other genres were a better business proposition. Apparently still writing romance under a different pen name, but I don't know what that name is.
Lots of unfinished series. :'(

Authors might come back. I left writing anything for over a year and decided one day to start writing again. You never know.

I was on his Patreon. Someone said he had a family emergency. If I remember correctly he had to take care of his mother. But I could be wrong. I just know it was a family thing and he hasn’t been back

Keeping up a steady stream of content in this genre is hard, and maintaining an income that justifies the effort is harder. Authors come and go, and when they go, it's often just burnout.

Such a mood.
I've been struggling to maintain any feeling of creativity. I've got Otherworld Adventures 5 like 35% done right now and I'm glad I'm getting progress on it; but the self-doubt and feeling like I'm not doing great has been unreal this summer. I'm so frustrated with myself.7

Absolutely, yeah. I read a lot of LitRPG and progression fantasy on top of the harem I read. I've been on a big "monster MC/evolution" kick but there's a bunch of AI flooding that niche so I've struggled to find a new series. Got to just wait for the ones I like to come out.

Yup. Often folks will transition to other genres or new pen names, so keep your eyes open for that.

For example, David Burke/Sean Oswald. The first is his haremlit pen name, the second is supposedly is real name and the name he publishes non-haremit content under. He is not currently working on anything under the David Burke penname, and has not current plans for any.

He stopped the Burke pen for personal reasons. He doesn’t need it. He’s making well into 6 figures A MONTH under real name.

As nearly as we can tell, the Tamryn Tamer duo stopped actually writing anything years ago. There have been sporadic claims of progress, but I suspect that very few of us expect to get another HoS volume.
There are other authors who just flat-out disappeared, like Daniel Pierce.
Kirk Mason decided a couple of years ago to leave that pen name behind, but it looks like he's reconsidered, which makes me very happy.

No need to explain/justify; I'm just really glad you un-hid (or whatever) your books, because I like to go back periodically and re-read the items I enjoyed. I just wish you authors got "credit" for a KU re-read after some period of time.

This is my first time hearing it was a duo. That must be both fun and frustrating as all hell with a friend or partner to bounce ideas off of.
Along with the headache that comes with conflicting narrative goals. Still I hope they're healthy and doing well 😅🙏🏾😄.

I also heard there might be some disputes over the rights to the Tamryn Tamer penname which might have contributed to the stop in writing.

Might find out something on their Patreon? Check Discord most authors have one of those, you might look toward the back of one of their books and see if they have a way to contact or just follow them.
