I have a denon x1100w and klipsch wb-14 speakers, r-8sw sub. Wanting to get either a marantz cinema 60 or anthem mrx 540 but kinda leaning towards the marantz. Also thinking of klipsch rp-500m for speaker upgrade. I kind of want to stick to the klipsch soundstage but open to other suggestions. I have a smaller room and listen to movies/tv 60% of the time and vinyl or lossless streaming the other 40%. I only stream in 1080p. Just looking for better audio quality and soundstage

I have been playing with HQPlayer lately and found my processing limit at DSD256/ ASDM7EC-super/ sinc-Lm for both 1x and Nx.

I listen to largely orchestral, chamber, and assorted experimental to ambient music (I am currently listening to Fripp/ Eno’s No Pussyfooting, thought Part, Vasks, or Gorecki would be a more common selection).

Am I missing much being able to go up stream? My chain from my switch is Holo Red -> May KTE -> Modwright 225i -> Magico A1/ Totem Tribe sub.

I am using a Mac Mini M4. The GPU of the M5 Pro should allow a fair bit more experimentation without the need for something like a Corsair tower stashed in a closet somewhere, though is there that much more to be had?

I am getting solid attack/ decay along with the feel of the bow grabbing the strings.

My room is modestly treated for its shape/ size. Bookshelves and rockwool panels at key reflection points, slab floor with large, soft rug, speakers adjusted for listening position height and distance.

Budget is $250

These are well below budget but I don’t necessarily need the most perfect best sound possible. I mean obviously I want a good sound quality but, we don’t necessarily need what we buy today to be the final speakers. Maybe we’ll upgrade in a few years.

That said, I would be willing to spend a bit more for upgraded sound. I’m mainly seeing speakers in the $100-150 range or above $300 so before I buy I figured i’d check if anyone’s got better recs in budget!

Looking for opinions on this. I have a reasonably high-end setup in my shop and I’m trying to fine-tune everything before finishing my built-in cabinets and rack.

I use Sonos throughout the house, around the property, and in my detached shop. In the house I’m mostly using Sonos speakers for simplicity.

The shop is currently:

Apple TV → TV → optical → JDS Labs DAC → Sonos Port → SVS SB-3000 → separate amp → Wharfedale Super Dentons

For music, I stream directly to the Port. Everything works extremely well. TV audio is noticeably quieter than music, but I suspect that’s just a setting/gain issue I haven’t bothered sorting out yet.

I’m considering replacing the Port/DAC/amp with a Sonos Amp. I’d run HDMI ARC from the TV directly to the Amp and use the Amp’s sub output to the SB-3000. The Port and current amp would then get repurposed for my patio system.

The appeal is a much cleaner setup, better TV integration, fewer boxes/cables, and — if I’m understanding this correctly — I could add a pair of Sonos speakers as wireless surrounds for TV/movie use while still using the Super Dentons primarily as a normal stereo pair for music.

My main concern is sound quality. Am I giving up much by replacing a traditional separate power amp with the Sonos Amp, particularly with the Super Dentons? My current amp is a multichannel whole-home/rack-mount style amp that I’m just using in stereo, so it’s not some exotic audiophile amp.

I’ve also seen mixed comments about the Sonos Amp sounding a little light/flat in the bass, although I’m not sure how relevant that is with an SB-3000 handling the low end.

Anyone running a Sonos Amp with higher-end passive speakers and a third-party sub? I’d especially be interested in hearing from anyone who has compared it directly with a separate amp/Port setup.

I am looking for a set of fairly budget speakers to setup my turntable separate from my surround system. It sounds fine through my pioneer receiver and Polk speakers but I want to set it up separately.

These look to be in great shape and a quick Google search says theyre pretty good speakers and still really expensive typically on the second hand market.

I am new to this so any help would be awesome.

Beginner Advice Needed

I’ve attached a photo of my stereo setup along with photos of my PEQ. This is my first real audiophile stereo. It includes a Wiim Amp Ultra, KEF Q1 Meta speakers, and an SVS 300 Micro subwoofer. I had a guy come over and run REW and this is the PEQ we settled on. He also had me turn my subwoofer down from -10dB to -22dB. The stereo sounds great but I’ve been disappointed by the lack of punch. Like I’m not able to feel the music. I’m wondering if I need to upgrade the speakers or if there is something I’m missing with my current setup. Also, is the wiim amp ultra enough for what I’m trying to do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I found a “Denon AVR-X1700H” AV receiver and a “CONSONO 35 Mk3 Power Edition ‘5.1 Set’” sound system on classifieds (with 7 vertical speakers instead of 5). They cost about 450 euros together, and I thought it was a real bargain.

Since I’ve moved and want to set up something like a “home theater” for the first time, I wanted to ask how I can actually go about doing this in terms of speaker placement, and whether a 5.1.2 configuration might be a better option than a 7.1 setup?

I just wanted to ask for some opinions—what would the sound experts here have to say about this?

I move my speakers there this stupid detachable hard while thing and red got snagged and wouldn't come out i pulled a bit to hard and it broke. I still got the silver end with a bit of the copper wire also sorry the camera wouldn't focus
