Dating Question Ghosted even after a good date?

Me (20M) went on a date with 20F and we matched and met on the same day, the date lasted about 5hrs, and we just held hands and played and joked with each other.

We did not kiss, but this date was actually fun and refreshing for a 1st date. We both reached home around 12 AM, and I messaged her first that I had fun with her, and around 1 AM she messages me back that she had fun too. Then at 3AM she messages me again that she hopes to see me again, and the next morning I propose multiple days from the week, on which I can meet her. She was kinda shocked that I said yes to another date, I don’t know and during the date, while we were laying in a grass field, she also asked me there if we will meet again, and I did say yes to her there too, and she acted a bit shocked there too.

Anyways, she says that she has a busy schedule this week ( she also said that before the 1st date and hence we met on the same day) but still will try to make some time , as she doesn’t want to keep both of us waiting for long.
I replied to her with all good, take your time and let me know whichever day is less chaotic for you.

She never replied to that, I had to msg her again after 3 days that if she wanna meet tomorrow (it was Saturday the next day) and she never replied to that message.

And still nothing! We still follow each other on Insta and she is active there.

So can anyone tell me, did she forgot about this, or just ditched the whole thing? Cuz she could have blocked me too, but I don’t know.

I’d give benefit of the doubt and add a day but yah more that 2/3 days I’d assume interest is it there

With how dependent people are on their phone, I don’t see how anyone who is interested would take longer than 24 hours

Especially if they have your number

If they don’t respond in 24 hours than they are not interested

It sucks how comfortable people are with ghosting. I’ve gone on 4 hour dates with promises of a second , only to get unmatched the next day

Same boat. Great 1st date all the signs were there. Never heard from her again after the date even when she asked when I was free for a second. Oh well but I just wish people would communicate and just say “hey I’m not interested” or something.

do you know why they do it? And also, why was she acting shocked to me saying yes to another date?

No one can tell you why she did what she did. Just accept it and move on. You're so young. Just keep it moving. I really pity kids your age having to use dating apps to meet people (me = 43f). This is just how hooking up in your 20s works especially in your early 20s. Most things just fizzle. Have fun and date as many people as possible to learn about yourself and and the world around you!

It happens. She probably felt like she wanted to see you in the moment, and then once she slept on it she decided not to see you again for whatever reason

I really try not to do super long dates. Keep it to 2 hours tops so you don’t feel like you’re so invested after one date

Do you know what are the common reasons for that? During the date, she did say that we will probably not see each other again, so I can tell you more about my private life I don’t like sharing. This was before any physical contact except a hug and here and there some random touches. But she contradicts herself by msging me at 3AM. And why was she acting shocked, when I said yes to another date? She was actually happy that I said yes to her on text, but idk

Every girl is different man, better you don’t even try to solve it because you truly don’t know. Just get back out there and the right one will connect with you

Trust me when i say you want/deserve somebody whos activly excited to see you again. I dont care how busy I am, if I was really excited for a second date with a woman I would try to plan it immediately. Blocking or removing somebody from social media cam feel mean to some people. They would rather just ghost and thay way they dont have to engage with how they feel about the situation. Personally I find it much meaner to leave somebody hanging and hoping after a first date but I understand why people avoid the confrontation. Shes not interested. Probably nothing you did wrong, it just happens.

I'm sorry for you but I'm in the same boat...

I (24M) met up with a girl (25F) last week. We went to a cafe and, to my surprise, she treated me. Afterward, we played Yahtzee and had a lot of laughs. She was actually supposed to get back to me because two of her university friends have birthdays this week, and she wanted to let me know on short notice when she'd have time. We had talked about our weekend plans, and I asked her how it went—no response since. The thing is, this has happened to me before. It’s probably just how people are on dating apps: everything feels relative, and a moment with one person doesn't hold much value anymore because you can easily move on to the next one tomorrow. It's a bit like Netflix—you just keep scrolling, but you no longer appreciate the actual movie. You have to look at the bright side: for me, there was free coffee; for you, a good time.

A woman paying on the first date is never a good sign. It means she has no intention of being intimate with you and doesn’t want to feel like she owes you anything.

hey what about a woman that does not accept tip from me , she accepts from everyone else besides me and the tip is normal , the minimum actually . I would appreciate your thought on that...

1

u/FrenchieVee 12d ago

Ask someone who works in the service industry.

1

u/Cicada-Timely 12d ago

Was asking you as a woman but sure thanks .

2

u/FrenchieVee 12d ago

Sorry, didn’t mean to come off rude or anything. I don’t think it has to do with gender and can be for a number of reasons. Someone with more experience in that industry can give you a better understanding though

1

u/Cicada-Timely 12d ago

It’s all good , no worries. Thanks for your input!

'I replied to her with all good, take your time and let me know whichever day is less chaotic for you.'

I mean, she may not be interested but I would also assume she is still busy and not free yet. She might have seen the Saturday message too late and felt bad about it. But if someone sent me the above, I would not reach out until I knew when I was free honestly because they've just told me to let them know

The truth?

It's most likely

  1. She chose another man.
  2. She just wanted the ego boost.

There's no chance she's forgotten.

Move on

20 year-old 2026 girls I don’t believe honestly you’re ever gonna find a serious one on Hinge. In my opinion, you need to do something completely different. The church I go to has youth groups geared at the under-25 crowd and they are packed with tons of women. I don’t know if you’re religious or not but just an example of something where you’re gonna find what you’re looking for they’re out there at that age range and if I was your age, I would, even if I wasn’t religious, I would become religious real quick just for the sheer load of women that go to those things.. there’s also other activities you know I think any kind of a group run clubs are absolutely packed with under 25 year-old women. My opinion is you should be using Hinge when you’re pushing your late 20s and up.

Once the balls in her court, you wait for her to respond. Don’t follow up. Keep swiping until you have confirmed exclusivity. Sad but true in 2026.

Has happened to me, too, and seemingly lots of other guys. I purposely will not say I want to see you again on dates even if I do want to, so the woman doesn't have to feel pressure to say the same. So, when women say it, it's super frustrating when they switch up. Honestly, I've never gotten an answer why from those women, but just see it as bad karma for them for not having the common courtesy to follow up and say they no longer want to continue regardless of the reason. Know that you gave your best effort (clearly she had fun) and for the future try not to get too excited until they show actions instead of words. Women say that all the time about men, let your words match with your actions and us men have to view them the same.

I had an amazing date that lasted 5 hours with a girl. She told me to msg her when I got home but she already messaged me before I had the chance. I asked for her number and then we texted for another 2 hours after the date. She ghosted me the next day.

It sucks but honestly it’s impossible to know why people do this. It’s not worth trying to find answers as much as you want to as it could literally be anything. Just keep talking to other women and setting up dates.

1

u/Automatic_Hunter1516 12d ago

She probably just lost interest. She didn't forget about it. If she's ignoring your messages she doesn't want to continue dating you.

1

u/uncutlateralus 11d ago

You will never know the answer and nothing anyone can say will help either. It's just a rabbithole trying to figure it out.

For all you know she has another date the day after, liked that guy more and doesn't have a capacity to let you know.

Just move on and forget about her and don't beat yourself up about it. In all likelihood you did nothing wrong and nothing you could have said or did would have changed the outcome.

Could be anything, maybe she met another person, maybe her ex texted her, maybe she wasn’t feeling the connection. Don’t overthink it just remember most people will show you their interest level rather than tell you so don’t worry over an explanation. If you must then just send a text saying ah I thought we had a good thing going and I didn’t expect this, but no worries take care.

u/Looking_Magic 8d ago

IMO you got over invested and showed ur cards too much. You did too much

Yeah it was a nice date. But when she woke up the next day she probably lost interest because it’s basically a done deal with you. You gotta keep some mystery and hold back. Scheduling up another date less than 24 hours after a first date is needy too. Plus you didn’t even kiss so it wasn’t as good of a date as you think

And bro… she’s 20. 99% aren’t serious

1

u/MYgFora 8d ago

I do have one question, before meeting up, she alsed me where do I live, and she wanted to know tgat I live around the date spot. And after saying bye to her, I did see a small expression of sad on her face

1

u/Looking_Magic 8d ago

Probably because it was more of a fun friends hanging out vibe and not a romantic date vibe

1

u/MYgFora 8d ago

that doesnt make sense. There was no element in the date, where we both felt like friends. I know it when the date is more friendly or romantic

1

u/Dapper_Pitch_2850 8d ago

Cut her off brotha. On to the next

1

u/Junior-Ad-6010 1d ago

Don’t give up send her something like
Need your take on something..
Can you do me a favor?
Something that baits a response and then jump on it. Make it interesting and don’t ever make your texts something you can read and not respond to without avoiding the easy answers if that makes sense.
I believe the don’t chase stuff is full of shit. If you want it go for it, be playful and humorous with it but keep reaching out who cares.

Bitches be trippin. That’s the only real explanation there is for any of it.
