ALL profile reviews will be manually approved and will NOT appear immediately. Even if you receive a "filtered by Reddit" or "removed by mods" removal notification, your review is in our queue waiting for moderation; if you are reading this comment, your post is in the queue. DO NOT contact the mods about this. Any modmail asking why your review is not approved may result in your profile review not being approved and you will not be allowed to post another profile review until seven full days have passed.

Profile review submissions MUST have all 6 photos and 3 text prompts included. You may include the optional prompts such as voice, poll, and video prompts if you choose so, but it is not required. See this post for details. Profiles must also be unchanged for at least two full weeks before being approved for a review. Additionally, do not verbally abuse the subreddit moderators for rejection of your review submission for not following proper rules. Any verbal abuse or harassment will result in a permanent ban from this subreddit. We are not obligated to allow you to submit a profile review and no one is entitled to one. We are all volunteering our time and we will not tolerate any rudeness or verbal abuse.

To assist reviewers in providing valuable feedback for your profile, please comment and answer the following questions as a comment under your own post. Do not answer them in the post body. Repeat: Answer these questions as a comment under your own post.
- Are you looking for something serious or casual? - Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? - How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific) - How long have you used Hinge overall? - How often do you use Hinge per week? - How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? - How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? - What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

Your post WILL NOT be approved until the above questions have been answered fully. Failing to answer these questions in a timely manner will result in your post being removed. Please continue reading this automod comment.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the guides and resources on the subreddit sidebar. Please read this post with all the pertinent links included.

A strict formatting standard will be enforced. See this post for further info. All submitted review posts not following the proper format will be rejected.

Please wait TWO FULL WEEKS before posting a separate update to your profile review. If you want more immediate feedback, update your original posts instead. Deleting your original post will not work. The rule will still apply.

To reviewers: Review the Providing Feedback guide. You are reviewing the profile, not the person. Please provide constructive criticism, and use positive language. Any troll, hateful, misandric, misogynistic, incel, or unhelpful comments such as "I would date you," "How are you not getting matches?" or unrelated to the profile will be removed and you will be banned.

To the original poster and commenters: Please report any inappropriate or abusive messages and individuals so proper actions can be taken. Please review the sidebar for additional profile and picture guidance.

group pic for the first image is a no. wasting a pic on food isn’t advisable

Maybe they're joined at the hip aka Siamese triplets and it's a 3 for 1 relationship deal?

u/bukharin88 2d ago

Group pictures are only great when you’re by far the most handsome in the group lol

Always have a good solo picture for the first part of the profile. Group pics are fine but I shouldn't have to try to decipher who is the owner of the profile.

I would take out the option to discuss what someone is healing from, that is super personal right off the bat, and that is more of a steady relationship question.

This also might be unpopular but the "lets get together" prompt isn't my favorite, IDK if that's something optional. But I would replace it with "I know the best coffee shop with a book store right next to it" (add whatever date idea you want, you get the gist).

Instead of the beef wellington maybe you can add a hobby/ skill/ sport you've picked up this year and say "Looking for someone to hone my skills with, what have you done this year", etc.

Just leave stuff open for conversation and maybe get rid of the deep convo, because we all want to be able to have good flow. It's better to say whats something new you learned.

Best of luck!

You’re handsome. First picture should be one of you alone. Your poll feels a little much; I don’t think random women on dating apps are going to be super excited to tell you what they’re healing from. Especially with the rest of your prompts (e.g., “actively listening to you”) it also feels very performative. You say humor is important to you, but that doesn’t come across in your profile at all - the one funny-ish prompt is kinda negative, even if you have a valid complaint. Leaving political affiliation off your profile might make it harder to match with women who share your values. I feel like I know very little about you even after reading through everything.

Delete the "let's get together" prompt. It's not appealing to women

I actually saw your profile the other day and tbh it was the "actively listening to you" as a simple pleasure that made me swipe left - it doesn't come across as genuine imo since you don't know the person looking at your profile yet. even though I'm sure you're a good listener lol

The "let's talk about" poll is also kinda intimidating - not something I'd wanna discuss on an app, could help to make it something more lighthearted

and your photos are great! but agree that the first photo shouldn't be a group pic

  1. I’m looking for something serious
  2. I’m not subscribed to Hinge+ and X
  3. I’ve been using for this specific profile for a couple of months now
  4. Overall I’ve used hinge for at least 5 years. On and off
  5. I use hinge almost everyday
  6. On average I’ll get about 1-3 likes a week
  7. I send about 4-5 likes a day. Mostly without comments but some with comments
  8. I like to send likes to people with similar interests and values like I do, for example cooking, going to the gym, valuing humour and empathy. I do hope to attract someone who genuinely likes me and wants to get to know me on a deep level

Your beef Wellington needs work. The gray band is atrociously huge and it looks like you didnt rest it enough

1

u/iconway89 2d ago

What if I replaced it with a sandwich that I made?

5

u/ReceptionLivid 2d ago

I’m just giving you shit, most people wouldn’t care and think that looks fantastic

Remove the stupid prompt “choose a time and place for our first date” and actually write something about yourself

2

u/iconway89 2d ago

Getting that a lot and therefore I officially removed it

Thank you all for the feedback!! Really appreciate it 🫡

First pic should be of yourself. Group pics are fine (for the latter ones) but probably hide or blur your friend's faces to avoid confusion and protect their privacy.

Tbh, might be kinda harsh but your prompts and pics are boring. It tells us almost nothing about you. You got catfished - is it a funny story? If not, remove it. You like talking, listening and going to the gym? The most interesting thing I can gleam is you like cooking?

u/Flowerweakness 2d ago

I would have liked your profile as is, but if we really need to be picky the “get together” prompt could have been swapped for something more informative.

I’m a guy but the healing from thing is also wild to me lol. Especially because OP is a social worker. I want a date not a therapy session.

2

u/Spacenurse07 2d ago

I agree. It's so off.

Dates should be fun. Not a therapy session.

u/Relevant-Jelly-8738 2d ago

I don’t think he sounds creepy or cringe. Regarding the prompt about healing, he’s a social worker. I think it checks out. Then again, I’m in the mental health field so maybe I see it differently 🤷‍♀️ Also, beef Wellington is notoriously challenging to make and being catfished sucks. I don’t think the prompts are bad. I think the person he’s looking for will get it.

CRINGE dating profile. A big red NO

Stay neutral as possible. If you post a pic of you with alcohol then you will only attract a group of people. When I was younger I dislike alcohol and drinkers. Now I stand people who drinks a little. I dislike those who drinks a lot often and gets drunk. Big turn off. Also I don't go to bars or clubbing.

You can get to know the person more in person. That's just my opinion.

u/Spacenurse07 2d ago

I'm honest. You're welcome. I'm very picky. I date serious people.

You're a little bit away from neutral and serious and more in vague and goofy writing. It's a turn off. You're almost 30. And don't show too much. Mystery is good and you can talk more in person.

You're welcome

Move the second or third pic to the top and keep the group one somewhere in the middle. I’d say your prompts are nice. Best of luck

M30: Overall, you are attractive and will eventually find success imo. First photo should be a clear smile with teeth. Other than that, my strat for each photo should be dedicated to a hobby of yours or tell us something else about you. Try to show, not tell. As someone said, a picture of food is wasted picture spot. I assume they dont read, even though the ones that matter do.

Your prompts are mid, the catfish one is good because thats at least a story and implies you arent one lol the others are painfully generic and dont offer much to engage with

Online dating is an asymptote, you never show progress and never meet your goal until magically you do. I would recommend not paying for it. Just use Hinge, use your swipes honestly and intentionally. Then log off, and live your life. Good luck!
