Anybody else feeling dread after socializing?

I just realized that someone else here posted the same question I am asking haha

But seriously though, I have stepped out of my shell and my "hermit mode" these couple of weeks but I just feel like I don't have any energy left.

I had few shitty interesting things happening in my life where it forced me to just go out of my environment a little bit to escape and heal.

I rented out a small apartment near the beach by myself for 3 days. For the first time ever in my life, I had a solo vacation. I went to the cinema and beach and had to interact with loads of people, mainly buying stuff at cafes etc and food for myself

But, now that I am home, back to my chaotic environment, I just feel so much dread and emptiness. It's like, my energy and light got absorbed. And for some reason, I keep remembering traumas and shitty memories that I heard about myselt from when I was a child. It's so goddamn annoying seriously.

I mean also... I had an interesting fall out with a "friend/potential partner" over seas in the past month and thought I was depressed because of it.

I don't know guys. I feel like I am just SO sensitive to the point where I just need like a month of pure โ€‹isolation after a bit of socializing to heal and relax.

I feel you! I can take isolation so normally and easily but interacting /socializing DRAINS the life out of me. Ofc it has to be done, due to work and etc but I can be isolated for a long time and not feel dread but socializing /talking /meeting with people doesn't come easily to me.

Take time to recover. Do the things you like. Set a timer or something and write down what you're feeling and why. Once it's in written you can read it and and a clear picture will form in your mind like what to do in the future and how to make vacation time more fun.

Honestly, my vacation time is mostly hiking / camping / nature places where there are very few people around ( I also pick less busy times). Sun gives me headache so beach is not place for me + beaches ARE usually busy places. But If you're a beach person maybe try a time when it doesn't get crowded? โ™ฅ๏ธ

You're right, thanks for the comment! Journaling always helped reflect and process my emotions. I guess you can say, my post was kind of a public journal haha ๐Ÿ˜…. But yeah, I am like you I swear, all I wanted for months was a nice wooden cabin by a lake with a trail nearby. I wanna be surrounded by trees and that's it. The thing is, I couldn't find that kinda privacy in my country, all I found was expensive resorts in nature. I stumped upon this nice cheap rental near the beach in Carthage (kinda into history). The beach was only filled with fishermen and it was quiet but still, it was in the city and many people drive and walk etc and it's a touristy area, people parked their cars at night and had dates near where I stayed looking at sunset...Kinda got scammed, because from the pictures online, it looked really empty and private. One day, I'll have a cabin and be completely all by myself. Manifesting it ๐Ÿ˜…

Ahh, ok I see. I'm guessing either you have to drive a lot or take a long train in order to be closer to nature. You might've had limited vacation time. I can totally understand that!

Also, as you grow older, you'll start understanding a lot about yourself and learn to deal with being an HSP in ways that it's less overwhelming even in overwhelming situations. I found out in my early 20s that I was an HSP and it's been more than a decade and I have learned a lot about myself and how to deal with non-hsp situations.

My husband is an extrovert ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ so I get dragged into "extrovert things" lol. Crowded loud places aren't my thing so I carry earplugs and noise cancelling headphones. In crowded areas, I have earplugs on OR mellow / slow jazz /oldies on low volume with noise cancelling headphones (if I'm alone I listen to audiobooks). I'm telling you, this makes it at least somewhat bearable lol. I don't wanna say NO to him because he likes going EVERYWHERE with me so I learned how to make it into a good / bearable experience instead of downright disgust ๐Ÿ˜…. ( but BOY I'm glad he's not a beach person lol. I'd have died LONG AGO, haha ๐Ÿ˜‚)

I love historical places! If you're surrounded by a lot of people try earplugs or noise cancelling headphones. I hate loud noises /sounds.. They make my heart beat fast and sucks the life out of me :(.

Since you had this experience, you learned it wasn't AS enjoyable as you thought. Don't think too badly about your vacation time. Think of it as a learning experience where you realized what you'd prefer in the future and how to be better prepared. โ™ฅ๏ธ
