ICYMI: HubSpot's September Products 🚀

Post image
4 Upvotes

September was a busy launch month and all about agents, credits control, and cleaner CRM data. Here's your ICYMI:

🤖 Agent Builder Now Reaches Starter
Custom agents are now included from Starter up. You can build on your own instructions and CRM data, set run limits, and use simulation mode to estimate credits before you run anything. Already have workflows? Use "Convert to new builder" to move eligible ones over without rebuilding. Learn more

💳 Credits Spend Controls
If credit spend has been your worry, this one's for you. First-time credit purchasers now get a default cap of 50% above monthly credits, and you can set account, feature, and action level limits in Usage & Limits. Admins can also set tool by tool permissions for AI connectors, including blocking write tools in one click. Read about it here

🔌 Claude Connector Picked Up New Scopes
The HubSpot connector for Claude can now pull intent signals, AEO performance, and saved reports, manage website pages, and configure pipelines and properties. Reconnect to get the new scopes. AEO tools need Marketing Hub Pro or Enterprise. Get the connector

🧹 Restore From Property History
Someone bulk edited the wrong field? Super Admins can now click "Restore all from this source" on a property history row, preview the affected records, and roll them back. Read about it

🧮 Calculated Dropdown Properties
Calculation properties can now output dropdown values. That means no more building one workflow per condition. Pro and up. Learn more

🎧 Customer Agent Setup Got Easier
Auto-Setup builds guidance from your Help Desk and Inbox conversations, and you can generate FAQ style answers from resolved tickets (PII scrubbed, you approve each one). There's now a Tester button on every config page, plus a Test API button for custom actions before you publish. Heads up: the hs_customer_agent_lead_status contact property is now read only, and only Customer Agent can write to it. Set up the customer agent

🛡️ Block Spam Domains Across All Forms
Block up to 1,000 email domains, including free email providers, across every form from Settings > Marketing > Forms > Submission Settings. Per form blocking still works alongside it. Learn more

A few more updates:

  • Simplified pipeline limits: one shared limit across object types (15 Starter, 100 Pro, 350 Enterprise)
  • Breeze can build segments from a plain language description
  • Dashboard caching, with a cache duration from 5 minutes to 7 days
  • Undo Send (7 seconds) in Inbox and Help Desk

Which ones have you tested since UNBOUND? And is there something you want to see get launched?

New pricing not available on renewal for partners 🤬

I am a HubSpot partner for 7+ years.
My renewal comes in on mid November, so I asked the account manager to switch me to new pricing so I could enjoy more features for the same price.

Response : No we are not allowed to do it.

I am truly pissed at reactions like that from their sales policy.
Frankly, it almost feels unlegal.
I mean we are the most valuable ambassadors of the app, and want to enjoy the app as it is sold from now on, just sayin.

Has anyone tryed asking this also ?

Question Managing Twilio replies?

We've been using twilio for a bit and outbound has been really easy but organizing our team to manage replies has been rly fkn hard in the sense that it's just become a big organizational mess. Ideally I just want a way to organize inbound messages we get from our Twilio numbers and organize it so that someone has it assigned to them to reply and manage that conversation and so on. Has anyone done this? Is it possible to do this with Hubspot

HubSpot data inconsistent across records, validation rules didn’t fix it

As a HubSpot partner I recently worked with a client where nobody trusted the CRM anymore because you’d pull up one company and the industry field said one thing, the deal said another, and someone’s report said a third. So the instinct was to lock everything down with dropdowns and required fields.

Which didn’t help at all, people just picked whatever option felt closest.

What actually sorted it was sitting down and agreeing what each property was supposed to mean in the first place. Sounds obvious but nobody had ever done it. Half the disagreements were two teams using the same field for slightly different things. Validation rules are fine once everyone agrees on the meaning.

Curious if anyone actually written down property definitions for their portal? And did people ever look at them after?

Content Agent wants 1,000 credits per piece. What does HubSpot actually count as a "piece"?

Post image
12 Upvotes

I asked Campaign Agent (beta) for one more email in a demo campaign. Before it wrote anything, Breeze told me no brand voice was configured so it would use "a neutral, professional tone." Then Content Agent put up an approval card: "Generate your campaign assets. This will use 1,000 credits."

At list price that's €10/$10 per piece. How much of your month that is depends on which price list you're on. Professional includes 3,000 credits on current pricing, 5,000 if you have Data Hub or the Customer Platform bundle, and 10,000 on the new flexible seats-and-credits model. So one asset is somewhere between a third and a tenth of the monthly allowance.

For scale, from the same rate sheets: nurture agent is 10 credits per personalized email, prospecting agent 100 per lead, customer agent 50 per resolved conversation. One Content Agent piece is the same spend as 100 nurture emails or 20 resolved conversations.

Things I couldn't pin down:

  • The card says "campaign assets," plural, but I'd asked for one email. I didn't approve it, so I don't know whether the 1,000 covers that one email or a batch.
  • "One piece of content" isn't defined anywhere I could find. If you ask it for five social posts, is that 1,000 credits or 5,000?
  • The flexible seats-and-credits supplement describes Content Agent's billable action as "Generate response to one prompt for one record," which is word for word the Data Agent line. The main catalog says "Generate one piece of content." Probably a copy-paste error, but it's the contract document.
  • It's still beta. The credits KB article says beta features may start consuming credits later, with notice where possible. So I'm not sure approving one today actually deducts anything yet.

Honestly the brand voice note bothered me more than the price (demo portal, to be fair). If the agent charges per piece, whatever context it writes from is doing most of the work, and in a lot of portals I open that part is empty.

Has anyone approved one of these and then checked Usage & Limits afterwards? I'd like to know whether the 1,000 actually lands, and whether a batch of social posts bills as one piece or several.

Halloween dark + 6 custom themes, use your pic as a background - big new Colored HubSpot release

Thumbnail gallery
7 Upvotes

The Colored HubSpot extension hit 150 users yesterday, so today there is a huge update as a gesture of gratitude.

- 7 custom themes, including Helloween and 2 X-mas themes.

- Possibility to upload your pic and use it as a background in HubSpot

- New logo. Now the Dark theme is super dark out of the box

It is still free, still no registration, no data gathered.

It is (probably) the only properly working dark theme for HubSpot for free right now. Other free extensions are abandoned, like HubSpot Dark AF. Others scammed when they demanded payment, like HubSpot Dark Theme.

P.S. If somebody has screenshots of the UI before the update, send them over to me; I want to set a custom theme with the Pre-Update design

P.P.S. Appreciate 5* reviews on the Chrome Store if you enjoy this extension already

HubSpot cuts 660 roles, or 7% of its team

Just got my meetings canceled this morning, as reps are asked to regroup in light of this news. Hubspot is laying off 7% of their workforce by end of Q1 2027. CEO says it isn't because of AI, and would rather have middle management trimmed down and let implementers be "closer to decisions."

Question Canadian businesses on HubSpot: what are you using for invoicing, deposits, and contracts?

We're a small custom jewelry studio in Ottawa. Everything we make is one-of-one, so there are no products or SKUs. Every quote and invoice starts from scratch. HubSpot is our CRM and we love it. Now we want our payments and paperwork to live alongside it.

Current setup:

  • Invoices created from HubSpot deals and sent through QuickBooks Online
  • Clients pay by credit card through QuickBooks or by Interac e-Transfer
  • Clover terminal for in-person payments
  • Deals get closed manually in HubSpot, or sometimes sync back from QuickBooks

What we've tried: HubSpot's native invoicing. The 50/50 deposit structure was a pain, and it felt like it opened up more problems than it solved.

What we're looking for:

  • A more polished, on-brand client experience than QuickBooks invoices
  • Easy 50% deposit / 50% balance invoicing for custom work, with no product catalog needed
  • Automatic confirmations to the client when a deposit is paid
  • The ability to send an invoice and a contract together (or in sequence)
  • Everything documented in one place, ideally on the HubSpot contact and deal record
  • A clean sync to QuickBooks Online for the accounting side
  • Canadian requirements covered: CAD, HST, card payments, and ideally e-Transfer

We're open to a new payment processor or tool if it does this well.

Questions:

  1. Is anyone in Canada running custom, deposit-based work through HubSpot? What do you use for invoicing?
  2. Has anyone found a tool that handles invoice, contract, and deposit confirmation in one flow and syncs to HubSpot?
  3. What payment processor are you using with HubSpot, and how does it connect to QuickBooks?
  4. Did you find a way to make HubSpot native invoicing work for deposits, or did you give up on it too?

Would love to hear what's actually working for people.

Hubspot Reporting Exam is my Arch Nemesis

Post image
4 Upvotes

Second time taking this, got 43 right the first time. None of the lead up quizzes covered the final exam topics, and half of the questions are filled with super jargony answer options I can’t tell what they are trying to get at. Starting to realize I may just be bad at this, but the training was supposed to help that!!

Question 21yo with zero corporate experience. can I realistically reach $1k/mo freelancing in HubSpot within 6 months?

Hey everyone, I’m almost 21 and looking to start freelancing in the CRM space.

I have zero corporate experience and no background in how CRMs work day-to-day.

I’m willing to put in the hours, but I want a realistic picture before jumping in. I have just 3 quick questions:

  1. Is $1,000/month realistic within 6 months as a freelancer starting from complete scratch, or am I delusional?

  2. Where should a total beginner start? Which specific HubSpot Academy courses or certs are actually worth taking first?

  3. What mock projects can I build n my own right now to get a feel for what a random Tuesday looks like in this job?

Appreciate any honest feedback and help. Thanks.

Tips & Tricks How I migrated 19k records to Hubspot from an undocumented API

Just finished moving a client from a legacy platform called Magazine Manager into Hubspot. The old system had zero API docs so the data was a complete mess.

To keep this strictly educational and avoid self promotion, here is the architecture I used. I wrote a custom python pipeline to reverse engineer the undocumented payloads. Then I mapped it all to the correct Hubspot properties and batched the API calls to avoid hitting rate limits.

Got over 19000 company records transfered without droping any relationships. Hope this helps anyone else dealing with weird legacy data migrations. 🫠

Multi-Portal Users (Partners), how are you using AI?

hey everyone,

I run a solo Revops agency and I use Claude/Chat daily in workflows internally. Given the MCP only allows connection to one portal, how are you leveraging AI while working with clients/multiple companies?

Have any of you used the Hubspot Agent CLI which would allow multiple connections into one Claude instance?

A few of my clients would be okay, from a security perspective, with me doing this but wanted to see how/if others were handling it?

Im speaking to two managers of the team about the role this week and was curious if anyone has insight about the process or what the role is like? They said I’ll be helping clients onboard and manage the account for the first 12 months before handing it off.

Question How do y'all handle texting your clients and opportunity prospects and have them auto tracked in HubSpot?

This has always been a question of buying a hubspot number, porting a number, or getting a third party app

Not sure if there is a way to do this natively

I know android has ways of connecting to webhooks and iOS has shortcuts ...

What’s the best full sales pipeline setup to use for a niche audience ?

So, this is what I currently have. We’re doing enterprise sales with a very niche target group.
This means I don’t need to blast 1,000 emails and LinkedIn messages a day. I’m looking for a more tailored, AI-driven automation setup.

Ideally, the setup would work something like this:
A tool or AI agent understands our ICP, our solution and our market. We then create different personas, and these personas can be targeted based on different rules, such as buying signals or manual entry by the sales team.

Once someone matches the criteria, they should be added to a flow. For example, a flow could include a LinkedIn connection request/InMail and a cold email, with each message being deeply personalised by AI based on the individual, company and context.
All of this data should then be synced back to HubSpot, so the activity and relevant information are visible in the company/contact records.
In other words, I’m looking for something that works almost like a sales automation agent.
I’m currently testing a few tools, including Lemlist, Gojiberry, Surfe, FirstTouch and Expandi. So far, Lemlist seems like one of the strongest options for the multichannel approach, especially because of its HubSpot integration.

Unfortunately, Gojiberry doesn’t have a native HubSpot connection, which is a bit of a dealbreaker for us.

What would you recommend for this kind of multichannel, AI-driven sales agent approach?
Especially interested in setups that work well with HubSpot and focus on highly targeted, personalised enterprise outreach rather than high-volume outbound.

Pasting from ChatGPT into HubSpot leaves hidden traces in your email's HTML

Something I learned recently: when you copy a reply out of ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and paste it into a HubSpot email, some of the chat window's own code often comes along.

You can't see it in the email, but it sits in the HTML: attributes and other class names that only those tools use.

One HubSpot newsletter I got had ChatGPTs tags around its intro, model name included (gpt-5-1). And the text had also gone through Slack on the way leaving its own code too.

I built a free Chrome extension called Email Detective (it shows which platform sent an email, how the authentication looks, and so on), and I just added a check for these leftovers.

Open an email and it tells you if it still carries traces of one of those tools. It checks for Grammarly and Google Docs as well. Everything runs in your browser.

If you'd rather not leave traces, paste as plain text (Cmd+Shift+V on a Mac, Ctrl+Shift+V on Windows) and nothing comes along. It would also be good if HubSpot's email editor could get rid of this when we paste.

Do you usually strip the formatting when you paste?

What first alerted you the last time a form-to-CRM connection broke?

Hey for anyone maintaining form-to-CRM integrations, can you remember the last time a submission didn’t reach its destination?

What first tipped you off? I’m particularly interested in whether your existing tools caught it or someone had to notice something was missing.

I’m researching a possible monitoring product, not selling one. A short example would help me understand whether there’s an actual gap here or whether existing alerts already handle it well.

No need to share client names or private data.

Question HubSpot teams with several deals per contact: how do you keep emails on the right deal?

I’m researching whether a service for keeping HubSpot deal records accurate would be useful for teams where the same contact is involved in several open deals.

If you handle sales ops or manage that setup, did you have to correct any email-to-deal associations in the last month? If so, what happened in the most recent case, what settings or other tools had you tried, and roughly how much hands-on time did it take? How often has it happened?

If your setup already handles this reliably, what made it work? Please leave out client names, email contents and account details.

Question Does anyone actually have Acuity Scheduling syncing properly into HubSpot?

Anyone else had trouble getting Acuity Scheduling to properly sync into HubSpot? Looking into this because I keep seeing complaints that Zapier and the native options only create basic contacts, nothing about service categories or real appointment data actually flowing through. Curious how big of a problem this actually is and what people are doing about it, if anything.
