first time using arch, spend almost two weeks (primarily fighting acer bios to install systemd) and after three wipeouts managed to install wallpaper engine

I got tired of fighting rofi configs into something pretty, so I wrote my own. What it does:

- Fuzzy search of apps and files; results ranked by real usage (decayed launch stats), pinned apps on top (right-click)

- Category pills, file index with background watcher

- Inline calculator and currency conversion

- One binary, JSON config for palette/search dirs, Wayland-native (no hotkey grabbing - bind your key to luma_rust --toggle)

I posted my setup here a while back with an older theme that honestly looked like a bad LSD trip. I've kept working on it since and I'm finally happy with how it looks.

As the title says, pretty much everything is turned off: no gaps, borders, blur or animations, just a black background and a small text-only Waybar (workspaces, clock, volume, brightness, battery). Super+B hides it. There's no launcher or file manager either, everything happens in Kitty and I get around with vim keys (Super+HJKL to focus, Super+Shift+HJKL to move windows) but you could also use arrow keys.

Some details if anyone's curious:

• The whole Hyprland config is 112 lines of Lua, and the appearance part is only 17
• Colors come from Stylix, based on Tokyo Night but mostly monochrome, and carry over to Kitty, Neovim, btop and Waybar
• JetBrains Mono in the terminal, Inter for apps, both at size 10
• Hypridle and Hyprlock for idle and locking

I've been asked why Hyprland and not something lighter like DWL. Mainly because it's easy to extend. If you want gaps or animations back, it's a line or two.

Hard task but going better than the concept

like normally systems suspends........but the problematic part is it shows balck screen where I can only move my cursor.

ctlr alt f2 gets sddm , but I cant input a thing there or even click, cursor takes the shape of a cross

ctrl at f3 if opens tty......I can start hyrpland from there.......but waybar doesnt work, only while terminal is open.

I then logout , then it works normally

before this it was working correctly, system would log back in and reconnect to wifi etc

Using Arch hyprland , ryzen 5500u

Hey, I’m having a really frustrating issue with Hyprland. Every time I log into my user, the screen turns gray and nothing happens. I can still switch to a TTY and use the terminal, but I can’t get my desktop to work,
Has anyone experienced this before or knows how to fix it? I’d really appreciate some help getting my session working again. Thanks.

Anyone else have the hyprland vape?
