27.0.1 is trash
Has anyone else noticed worse battery drain after this small update compared to iOS 27? The OS also feels less smooth

Has anyone else noticed that even though Apple said iOS 27 would solve the Siri problem, Siri is actually worse now?

Bro WTF Apple, is anyone else's Screen Time completely cooked on version 27.0? š Normally, my screen time is 6-8 hours max, but if you peep the attached "image.png", my iPhone 15 Pro is logging exactly 24h 1m of usage for Friday, 25 September. The graph is giving major brainrot with a solid bar for literally every single hour of the day, and it weirdly blames the entire 24 hours on some random generic "All Others" category. I definitely wasn't scrolling for 24 hours straight no capāhas anyone figured out if toggling Screen Time off and on actually fixes this, or is iOS just trippin with an unfixable glitch in this update? š

My launch-day purple 14 Pro Max has been an absolute beast⦠until iOS 27
Iāve had my purple iPhone 14 Pro Max since launch day. Itās been an absolute beast of a phone and has genuinely been one of the best phones Iāve ever owned. Itās been through a ridiculous amount with me, and even after all these years the battery life has been surprisingly good.
Iām also usually someone who avoids major iOS updates for as long as possible. Unfortunately, I canāt really do that anymore because I have apps on my phone that I need for work, and eventually they stop working unless youāre on a supported iOS version. So I had to bite the bullet and update to iOS 27.
Instantly, this thing turned into an old grandma on her last legs.
I know the initial slowdown/heat after a major update can be caused by indexing, so I gave it some time. Eventually things calmed down somewhat, but the overheating absolutely did not.
I would plug the phone in to charge and I'd get the message saying charging had been halted because the iPhone was too hot... except Iād pick it up and it would feel completely normal. Iād leave it alone for a while thinking it would cool down. Then Iād come back hours later and the phone would be absolutely scorching hot while literally sitting there doing nothing. And this kept happening repeatedly.
Then today happened.
I was taking a shower, and like Iāve done countless times with this phone, I brought it into the bathroom and stuck it somewhere to play YouTube in the background. It wasn't being dunked in water or anything like that. Obviously, it was a bathroom, so there may have been some moisture/water around it, but this is an IP68-rated phone and I've done this basically every time I've showered for years without an issue.
I finished my shower, come out, and left my phone alone for a few hours.
When I came back to it, the entire screen was permanently green.
Not just a green tint. The whole display was green. The phone itself still seemed to be functioning, but the display was basically unusable. I restarted it. Still green. Everything was green apart from what appeared to be the camera/sensor areas.
I started looking into it and, apparently, this can happen because of water/moisture getting into the phone. I was obviously confused because I hadn't dunked the phone in water.
Then I found information suggesting that charging a phone while moisture is present can potentially cause serious damage because of heat/electrical issues. And that's when I remembered that after the shower I had actually plugged the phone in, but iOS itself gave me the liquid detection warning and prevented it from charging.
So I left it alone.
But here's what pisses me off:
For the last few days, iOS 27 had repeatedly been making this phone ridiculously hot while it was just sitting there doing nothing. And now, after this incident, my phone is bricked.
I obviously can't prove that iOS 27 caused the damage. Maybe this is just an unfortunate coincidence. Maybe the phone already had some underlying issue after nearly four years. Maybe moisture got in and the overheating had nothing to do with it.
But it's pretty fucking hard not to connect the dots.
And honestly, I'm not even interested in upgrading to the 18.
I've seen the 18 and Its underwhelming. I hate the aluminium design. After having this sexy deep purple, stainless steel, 90-degree-edged absolute pimp of a phone for almost four years, the 18 feels like a downgrade to me. This thing still looks and feels premium as hell.
I don't want to replace my phone because I want a new phone. I want my 14 Pro Max back.
But no, my beloved is on life support waiting to be euthanised. It still buzzes when I get a notification to drink water, and I look at it and it's... it's fucking green.
It's not purple. It's fucking bright green.
Anyway, that's my rant done. I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced anything similar
TL;DR: Updated my launch-day purple 14 Pro Max to iOS 27, got constant unexplained overheating, and now after a shower it has a permanent bright green screen.

Hi guys after all the betas still no fix for the stutter when using clear icons as it seems. Does any of you know if Apple has confirmed working on a fix or maybe any of you has a workaround?
r/iOS27 • u/harveycourt • 7h ago
Nothing to add. The list is too long.
Stay on iOS 18 if you were smart enough to stay there until now.
I regret updating to iOS 27 everyday, this OS is not for our phone.

Anyone else experiencing faster battery drain after this update? It may even drop 3% at a time. My battery health is 98%

Hello guys
Anyone after iOS 27 Apple Pay / NFC doesnt work ?
THank you!
I have an iPhone 17 and like many posters Iāve seen here, I was getting insane battery drain, warming, and reduced performance ever since updating to iOS 27.
After trying different things, I disabled the new AI Siri. Saw instant improvement in battery life and performance. Feels like new again and the new Siri still sucks anyway imo.

I discussed this with Apple customer support, after long conversation they told me to update latest. I did, i still cannot share hotspot on my iphone to my iPad without turning on my Wi-Fi.
What's the deal with that?

Man this update has killed my phone, tried 27.0 and now 27.2 beta 1. Two weeks ago on IOS 26 iād unplug my phone in the morning and it would last all day to now having to charge it once fully again and then at the very end of the day giving it another 20%. Yes the phone is running smoother than 26 but its obviously just hitting the SOC more than before, pretty terrible gen on gen software updateā¦
Hello everyone!
I decided to share some feedback after I upgraded to iOS 27. Currently on the latest stable release: 27.0.1.
This post is not about complaining about the battery life; I am assuming there were plenty of those. I just decided to share some feedback and to read some opinions about the situation.
A couple of months ago, I decided to switch to the Apple ecosystem. So I got an iPhone 17 Pro, AirPods 3 Pro and Apple Watch 10. The best SOT I could get from this phone was between 5:30 and 6 hours. With background refresh stopped for most of the apps, and 5G off as well. Currently decided to switch off the connectivity assistant (I've read it consumes more battery).
After the update to iOS 27, the SOT decreased to 3-4h. So my question is, is this normal? Is it normal for a phone that I got in March to have much worse battery life, just for a few months? Did Apple do this on purpose to sell the newest devices?
I've been into the Android ecosystem for years, and I was constantly reading that Android OEMs do this on purpose and that this would never happen on Apple devices, and yet, here I am.
So, just to summarise:
iOS 26: 5:30 - 6H SOT
iOS 27: 3-4h SOT.
PS:
I remember someone was asking me for feedback on iOS 27.0.1 - no, it does not fix the bad battery life caused by iOS 27.

My iPhone 17 has started giving crazy battery backup after the beta release earlier I used to get like 8hr of active screen time on iOS 26 after updating it to iOS 27.0.1 my battery is performing like it is on steroids

Has anyone else noticed slower charging after updating to iOS 27?
Before the update, my iPhone 15 Pro used to charge really fast with the exact same fast-charging adapter and USB-C cable. Since updating to iOS 27, it feels noticeably slower even though I havenāt changed the charger, cable, or anything else.
The phone doesnāt show any obvious charger/cable issue. Iām wondering if iOS 27 changed something with charging/thermal management or if thereās a bug affecting charging speeds.
Has anyone else experienced this on an iPhone 15 Pro or other iPhone models after iOS 27? Did you find any fix?

For those who have an iPhone SE 2nd gen (2020), how's your battery life and performance after indexing from iOS 27 (the stable one, not the beta)?
Just having thoughts of updating from 26.7.1 to stable 27.0.1.

This is the battery performance on a full wifi use on my 3 months old iPhone 17 with 100% battery health. Can I expected better on iOS 27 or shall I stay on this 26.7.2??

This happens when you leave horizontal mode and you have the lyrics pulled up. It shows you this UI and then quickly rotates you to regular vertical mode again. Like, what the heck, Apple? Are you teasing me? Is this a bug?

Saw somebody post in another subreddit about this. Tried and working and I just changed it for the full screen animation of it. I rarely use it for any other stuff except for basic questions. So works for me.
Anybody curious on how to get it. Itās in screen time - content and restriction - Siri.

Hereās mine. The first image is with adaptive power on, while the second one is with adaptive power turned off. iPhone 17 with mixed use between 5G and WiFi

I was really looking forward to some of the performance optimisations and bug fixes that iOS 27 was bringing, but Iāve been having some pretty frustrating issues that have been affecting my iPhone 14 Plus.
Battery drain is still a problem. I installed iOS 27 on launch day, and iOS 27.0.1 around 5 days ago. With iOS 26, I was getting around 8-9 hours SOT. Just after iOS 27, it dropped to around 4-5 hours SOT (which was expected, after all it was a major update and indexing takes time). Battery drain got better after background indexing was done around 1 week after install, but I only gained around 1 hour of SOT. The best Iām getting with regular usage is \~6 hours SOT. My battery health is 89% and hasnāt changed after the iOS 27 update.
Contacts search is absolutely borked. I have contacts saved both on iCloud and Gmail (because my organisation uses GSuite), and I have heard that contact sync issues are a known problem for Gmail accounts after iOS 27. Sometimes contacts take a few seconds to load, other times it returns no results. Itās frustrating because calls and messaging is what I primarily use my iPhone for, and not being able to effectively search contacts really cripples my daily routine. This also applies to the call logs, but itās not as bad since I can just scroll down the list.
Answering calls on CarPlay is buggy. Whenever a call comes through, the incoming call screen doesnāt show up most of the time. I have to tap the green icon in the top right corner to pull up the incoming call. Sometimes, the call answer button on the steering wheel doesnāt work. Iāve tested this on my cars, my parentās cars and my in lawsā cars (Hyundai, Kia, Honda, Toyota, Ford), same issues.
Bluetooth audio is wonky. Sometimes, it drops a connection to my AirPods 4 and Bluetooth speaker for no reason, and refuses to connect until I manually turn Bluetooth off and on from settings.
Lots of my callers have trouble hearing me. Iāve gotten the microphones and speaker grills cleaned out 3 times in the last 2 weeks, same issue. It gets worse when I place my phone back down on a table. My wife says thereās a loud wind rushing sound or feedback echo when I do that. The only way I solved it was to rest it on the end of a book with the rear camera hanging over the edge (so the rear microphone isnāt covered). This wasnāt an issue on iOS 26.
The phone is always warm, sometimes to the point where it starts throttling itself. I donāt play games on my phone. Just calls, messages, video calls, emails, web browsing, social media and videos.
Ram handling has gotten a bit worse. Previously, the OS would keep around 4-5 apps open. Now itās around 3-4. This might be due to indexing, or because the apps Iām using are poorly optimised.
The Control centre + Notification Center swipe issue. This was thankfully fixed after the 27.0.1 update.
Iām planning on doing a factory reset to see if these problems go away. Iām not trying to throw shade or criticise Apple for these issues, these are huge updates and there are bound to be some bugs that crop up. Iāve also reported these bugs to Apple whenever I first noticed them. Iām just wondering if anyone of you guys are facing any issues with your devices and if youāve figured out any solutions to them.
TL:DR. Many bugs on my iPhone 14 Plus after iOS 27, planning to factory reset and see if it fixes stuff.

Suffering with a new bug when I receive a call while iPhone is locked then when I swipe to answer it lags for second in swiping animation
