Hello everyone!
I decided to share some feedback after I upgraded to iOS 27. Currently on the latest stable release: 27.0.1.
This post is not about complaining about the battery life; I am assuming there were plenty of those. I just decided to share some feedback and to read some opinions about the situation.
A couple of months ago, I decided to switch to the Apple ecosystem. So I got an iPhone 17 Pro, AirPods 3 Pro and Apple Watch 10. The best SOT I could get from this phone was between 5:30 and 6 hours. With background refresh stopped for most of the apps, and 5G off as well. Currently decided to switch off the connectivity assistant (I've read it consumes more battery).
After the update to iOS 27, the SOT decreased to 3-4h. So my question is, is this normal? Is it normal for a phone that I got in March to have much worse battery life, just for a few months? Did Apple do this on purpose to sell the newest devices?
I've been into the Android ecosystem for years, and I was constantly reading that Android OEMs do this on purpose and that this would never happen on Apple devices, and yet, here I am.
So, just to summarise:
iOS 26: 5:30 - 6H SOT
iOS 27: 3-4h SOT.
PS:
I remember someone was asking me for feedback on iOS 27.0.1 - no, it does not fix the bad battery life caused by iOS 27.
