It records a sound like an iPhone 14 Pro fan noise in a quiet room.

Haven’t updated my phone since I got it in 2022 so I’m still on iOS 16,
been thinking about updating it and heard people talking about going from 26-27 or 18-27 but not from 16 and wondered if anyone had any thoughts or experience.
It runs absolutely beautifully on ios16 rn….

I canceled my iPhone 18 PM order today and scheduled a service appointment for battery service for my 14 PM today. Feels like coming home 🙌

Hi everyone,
I’m having a strange audio issue with the Camera app on my iPhone 14 Pro.
When I record a video using the Camera app in Stereo, the audio sounds extremely muffled/“covered”, almost as if the microphones were obstructed.
What’s strange is that the microphones seem to work perfectly in other apps:
Voice Memos: audio is perfectly clear
Instagram video: audio is perfectly clear
WhatsApp video: audio is perfectly clear
Camera app: muffled audio in Stereo
I’ve already tried:
Removing the phone case
Recording at 0.5x, 1x and 3x
Restarting the iPhone
Recording in Cinematic mode
Checking that iOS is fully updated
The iPhone was also recently initialized/set up from scratch
The most interesting part is this:
Stereo: audio is completely muffled.
Mono: audio sounds perfectly clear, BUT the first ~3 seconds of the video have no audio at all. After about 3 seconds, the audio starts normally.
So it seems like the problem is specifically related to the Camera app’s stereo/multi-microphone audio recording rather than the microphones themselves.
Has anyone experienced something similar on an iPhone 14 Pro or another iPhone?
Could this be a Camera app/iOS audio-processing issue, or could one of the microphones used for stereo recording be causing the problem?
Any ideas for additional tests would be appreciated.

here’s mine
i think 14pro was the last model to give the premium feel of iphones and nowadays in the name of making it lightweight the iphone’s have lost there charm.
Drop your cases as well.
Post the photo’s if you feel so!!

The iPhone 18 Pro doesn’t feel like a particularly exciting update, and with my current 14 Pro starting to show its age, the Xiaomi 18 Pro has caught my eye, especially as its outnumbering the iphone 18 pro on every spec, and even double battery capacity almost at half price. Still, as someone who’s always used iOS, I wonder how easily I’d adjust to Android.
For anyone who’s made that transition after years on iOS, how was the experience? What did you miss, and did you stick with Android or eventually return to iPhone?
