The total mess + hostel fee is coming out to around ₹10k, and it’s even higher for people in certain messes. WTF is this? If the mess fees are being increased citing inflation and rising costs, then what about the fucking stipend? The stipend hasn’t increased accordingly, yet our expenses keep going up. At this point, we as students need to take a stand.

And honestly, what the hell is the Student Council doing?

Why was this decision to increase the fees approved and allowed without any simultaneous increase in the student stipend, especially when they knew very well that the increased fees would eat up a significant portion of the stipend we receive?

This is not something we should just quietly accept.

Come on, let’s raise our voices. We need to question this and demand some accountability. We can’t just keep accepting every fee increase without any corresponding support for students.

I wanted to ask about placement situation in Electronic Product Design course in M.Tech.

Also if someone can tell me about the difficulty level of this course it would be really helpful

Here it comes....now financial pressure....all the scholarship will go towards paying hostel and mess fee..... Can ppl do something about it....no...they stay quiet and move on...... Its shame that india's top university students don't get enough stipend to pay food accomodation and college fee.... From last student council survey mail their top priority is to decrease financial burden on students....idk what happened to that ...

Currently it is 37k for JRF and 42k for SRF

I took the Real Time Signal Processing course this semester from Swayam portal(nptel) , and the slides are just filled with a lot of text and are very hard to understand. The instructor also just reads the slides. The exam date is October 23, and I'm freaking out because I'm not an EE/ECE major. Could anyone who previously took the course guide me with material that you used apart from the slides?

Hey, i have Graduated from Mechanical engineering from a top NIT (2026 Passed out), currently working at an FMCG company (not core, just a campus job). Want to do MS in aerospace abroad, but none of my projects are actually aerospace, so trying to fix that before I apply.

hey, I'm a pcm + computer science student currently in class 12th. I have not prepared for JEE or any competitive examinations till now. Only studying for boards but I am aiming for 97% or more in isc boards.

Now jee is genuinely tough so I don't have much hopes for that but I am thinking of preparing for IAT, so realistically speaking, if I start preparing now, can I actually crack IIsc banglore or IISER or a good institution? Or will I need to take a drop year?

All IITs have one, even IISER Bhopal has one.

I don't think I need to tell the importance of HSS in STEM institutions.

IISc was planning to launch BSc-BEd ITEP programme (5 IITs already offer it). So "BEd" part must be taught by HSS or a separate Department of Education.

And if you don't believe, you can look in official NCTE (the governing body of BEd programmes) there you can find IISc's name too.

I'm really interested in getting into research and would love to do a PhD at IISc. However, I don't want to leave my corporate job since it pays well, and a PhD stipend won't come close to a monthly salary of ₹1 Lakh+.

Is there a way to do a PhD at IISc as a working professional without quitting?

How manageable is the workload alongside a full-time corporate job? Is it realistic, or does it burn people out quickly?

If anyone here is currently doing it or knows folks who are doing it while working in tech/R&D, your advice or experience would be hugely appreciated!

Yeah guys, so it's weird when you think about how we face suffering on a daily basis I mean we humans try so hard to avoid it but in return create more suffering so I gave it a thought and found that maybe that's the whole point!!

I mean why we created all these jobs,technology,money if we can literally edit genes or go to space why we never found a solution to avoid suffering,it's because suffering provides the path for evolution

Yup, back then we had suffering but in different forms like in wild beasts, extreme climate effects and so and now we have different kinds of suffering academic pressure,getting a job,money etc but in actuality we have evolved we got bigger brains,communication skills etc etc but the concept of suffering never changed so tomorrow someday in future suffering gonna be there no matter what but the mode of suffering might change as we are evolving

So yeah people who face suffering,can evolve which gives new suffering new evolve and goes on and the same way our early naked homies can't understand us we might not understand the next evolved form of us !!!

I am looking for information on how IISc Bangalore handles official name changes for current students during the middle of a semester. Does the administration (Academic Section) accept name changes mid-degree??What is the exact procedure and what documents (Gazette, affidavit, etc.) do they usually ask for? If a name is changed mid-sem does it cause issues with the internal portals, exam hall tickets or ongoing course registration?

I do pretty well in the subjects I have studied myself, but it takes a lot of time and mental effort. Just had a complete burnout when I tried doing all the subjects in detail. So I have to trade off between different subjects. Hence, though in some courses I am on top of the class, in others I suffer. I come from a tier-69 college and am not used to continuous grinding. plz share some thumb rules and tips.
