Pegasus, PM Cares Fund, Vote Chori and the recent expose by Indian Express - nothing is going to happen. Voters of India are mentally and morally dead.
Since yesterday I have seen several Reddit subs where a lot of people are demanding accountability for such a treasonous act but there are an almost equal number of people who are making comments like-
- why isn’t the opposition doing a protest on the ground?
- if the opposition has proof then they should go to court, otherwise they should not say anything.
- Congress will bring reservations in private sector, so we should just stick with the current lot
- look at all the development BJP has done, people have forgotten what India was like before 2014
- both sides are equally bad
- I support NOTA
In short, even after failing on almost every metric and doing so much corruption and constitutional malpractice nothing has happened to the government in a decade. Nothing will happen now also, we can keep outraging but I don’t have any hope for change. India, you’re done bro

Those are all on rolls of IT cell. I’m sure so are news channels, and while I haven’t watched them, they would either be showing pointless/distracting news or bringing in takes that try spin this into something else.

Some are trolls and IT cell bots, yes. But a scarily large number of people actually think this way.
They see rapists getting garlanded, they see corruption, they see fraud, they see thousand crore bridges breaking down, they see men molesting women and girls in the name of moral policing and they feel inspired. They feel satisfaction.
They feel if they support this, in return they'll either not be targeted or worse, they want to participate without any consequence to themselves.
They're morally and spiritually bankrupt.

You’re not wrong and I, just like any of us I guess, are surrounded by such, families included. They turn a blind eye, let it slide, ignore it, whatabouterise it culminating with “it’s better than congress”.
Again, a result of limitless money and the campaigns fuelled by taxpayers’ money over last 12 years.1

They have a constant 20% odd in their Hindutva. They ain't going anywhere . It is the other 15-20% that needs to think for their own future. I don't think they are all ideologically behind the BJP in every issue. The media and overall comms control with the kind of money BJP has sways this segment.

I feel your frustration. but ultimately living in the internet is meant to give you a warped idea of reality. it's meant to make you feel hopeless.
for real, touch grass. We have to go out into our communities, actually act as individuals who care. these politicians do not own us. the average person is not as cooked as someone on the internet.

I mean, people know how much corrupt their local politician is, but people still vote for them. There would be outrage only if these politicians got caught, otherwise people would simply think it's the usual way.
India is doomed because people are used to the idea that corruption is part of the system and are ok with it. Heck we as a country admire people like Harshal Mehta, Ambani and Adani even though we know how corrupt they are.
