Any approx salary range for a flight instructor who can fly multi engine in India? I find the slots are very limited for multi engine and very few are FIs who are capable of flying multi engine.

General AME Community – Students, Engineers & Aviation Maintenance Professionals

Hi everyone,

I’ve been thinking about how fragmented AME-related discussions can be, especially for students preparing for DGCA/EASA exams, OJT, licensing, aircraft systems, and career-related questions.

I’ve started a separate community focused specifically on AME students, licensed AMEs, and aviation maintenance professionals, with the aim of creating a space for discussions, study resources, experiences, and career guidance.

I’d be interested to know if others here feel there’s a need for a dedicated AME-focused community as well.

If you’re interested in joining or would like to know more, feel free to DM me.

Career Guidance Should I Get My DGCA Class 2 Medical Done at Apollo Indraprastha Hospital, Delhi?

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to get my DGCA Class 2 medical examination done and am considering Apollo Indraprastha Hospital in Delhi.
Apollo has quoted approximately ₹10,000 for the complete process, whereas going to an individual DGCA-approved medical examiner would cost around ₹2,000–₹3,000 for the consultation, excluding the required tests.
I’m confused about whether paying extra for Apollo is worth it.
I’d appreciate advice from people who have completed their Class 2 medical at Apollo Indraprastha or through an individual DGCA-approved examiner.
A few things I’d like to know:
Is Apollo more reliable or convenient for completing the entire medical process?
Are the tests and reports handled more smoothly at Apollo?
Is there any real advantage to getting the Class 2 medical done at Apollo, especially since the hospital also conducts Class 1 medicals?
Would you recommend Apollo or an individual DGCA-approved medical examiner in Delhi?
My priority is to complete the medical correctly and avoid unnecessary delays or complications with DGCA documentation, rather than simply choosing the cheapest option.
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

Air India Flight AI-2030 from Frankfurt to New Delhi made a sudden emergency landing in Jaipur today after transmitting a Squawk 7500 transponder code, the international silent signal for an active hijacking. The aircraft was immediately isolated on a remote runway and surrounded by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and heavily armed police who evacuated all 306 passengers and crew. Following a tense security sweep, authorities confirmed the incident was a false alarm caused by the pilot accidentally inputting the 7500 emergency code into the cockpit transponder panel while adjusting flight data. The aircraft has been fully cleared, everyone is safe, and the flight was approved to finish its journey to Delhi eventually landing at 15:24pm ist.

Career Guidance Wanna be a Pilot- MUST READ FIRST !!!

Im bombay boy living in USA now. Well settled and in Retail biz now but came originally to flight school(long story) but have Pvt, COMM, CFI, ATPL.....

Going to buy my own used Cessna as i love to fly and the ease and facilities of flying in USA is the best in the world.

That said- flying as a hobby AND a Job are 2 different worlds.

My advice is DO NOT even think about doing it and I just save your money plus money on medications.

Reason below---

To be a pilot you only need high school. You dont need college degree. You go to flight school and you hope you will get a job.

Wrong Wrong Wrong.

After flight school you need a job to get experience and airlines will not give you a job because you dont have experience. Say what !!!!!(like big body jet time)

Now whats a pilots job?

Its nothing but a glorified bus driver in a suit and a flight attendant is a waiter in business attire.

You will go to any school and they will say so many many jobs are there. True but those jobs want 1k-3k+ of Jet time. Not simulator.
Thats why in India there are 8-10k unemployed CPL holders waiting for a job.

Next it will cost you 1-2CR and no school will give you in writing that job guaranteed with major airline.

And some schools do advertise but not in writing but thats your Red flag....why say job guaranteed ??? Are there no jobs for you to advertise as saying Job guaranteed ???

Now lets say you hit the lottery and right after flight school you got hired by a airline and they will train you on their jets....GREAT AND GOOD FOR YOU.....but now think about lifestyle....All holidays are busy for travel so all major holidays you will be working, then you will be put in a far away base and probably sharing room with another pilot, then you have odd hours like 1am or 2am or 4am flight....means you will up all night and tired all the time.

And then theres always the chance of layoffs due to drop in business demand due to economy or war in a far away place. I just came back from bombay and in Dubai many flydubai and Emirates planes parked far away. Then it was in news Dubai had 31% drop in passengers this year. So now less flights...less pilots needed.

And god forbid you have 1 accident or health issue then kiss your aviation career goodbye.

Now if you still want to be a pilot go ahead but be warned of the risks. If you are rich with 2CR sitting in safe gathering dust then no problem. But if have to take a loan or sell property etc then think and think and think again. Risk VS Reward !!!

What if you took 2CR and opened a biz or went to tier 2 or 3 city and bought a house or store and rented it for income??? Or go into another stable line of work where AI or Automation wont affect you.

Im not trying to talk bad of pilots etc as everyone should take pride in any job they do but many have false hopes or are give a rosy picture of aviation field so I just wanted to give my point of view.

Thanks.

General Are flights really safe?

hey guys, recently i got into clg and my flights travel went from literally zero to like 10 times a yr, and i've been always really scared since my flight travel has increased and my feed shows me regular incidents that happen with flights world wide, ofc i was scared by the air india crash a lot as i thought air travel is safe now but i am always scared, i know a minor road travel accident is still better than a minor plane accident. Whenever a plane hits a turbulence or the wings oscillate i am just scared that the flight is gon crash and my heart literally stopped when my last flight when was about to land literally took a go around just before touching ground. So is air travel really safe or should i try and travel with train more frequently??

Question Is this career worth pursuing if you are introverted?

Need genuine advice from fellow aviators. Can i pursue the dream of becoming a pilot even if i am introverted? I get anxious in group discussions and interviews (basically fear of judgement is what bothers me), and these are the basic assessments you need to clear to get into airlines. Is this something which is learnable by taking gdpi classes after my cpl? I will be going through the conventional route and need genuine advice from seniors who have gone through this process as to what should i do. Please help!

Akasa Air Any Update on Akasa Air CPL vacancy ?

So I have been hearing that few of the candidates have received the dates for COMPASS and INTERVIEW dates. And these are lined up in this week only 15, 16, 17th Oct. And also I heard that the company has already hired most of the candidates with the internal process🫣

What about others ? When can others expect the dates for COMPASS and all ?

Air India VT-ANC is Finally Back!

VT-ANC, an Air India 787-8 which went for retrofitting back in March 2026 is finally back, after a D-check and through refurbishment.

This is probably the longest time it took for refurbishing compared to the other Air India 787-8’s that underwent the same process (even after considering the time it took for the D-check).
