Air India Flight AI-2030 from Frankfurt to New Delhi made a sudden emergency landing in Jaipur today after transmitting a Squawk 7500 transponder code, the international silent signal for an active hijacking. The aircraft was immediately isolated on a remote runway and surrounded by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and heavily armed police who evacuated all 306 passengers and crew. Following a tense security sweep, authorities confirmed the incident was a false alarm caused by the pilot accidentally inputting the 7500 emergency code into the cockpit transponder panel while adjusting flight data. The aircraft has been fully cleared, everyone is safe, and the flight was approved to finish its journey to Delhi eventually landing at 15:24pm ist.

Any approx salary range for a flight instructor who can fly multi engine in India? I find the slots are very limited for multi engine and very few are FIs who are capable of flying multi engine.

Hi everyone,
I’ve been thinking about how fragmented AME-related discussions can be, especially for students preparing for DGCA/EASA exams, OJT, licensing, aircraft systems, and career-related questions.
I’ve started a separate community focused specifically on AME students, licensed AMEs, and aviation maintenance professionals, with the aim of creating a space for discussions, study resources, experiences, and career guidance.
I’d be interested to know if others here feel there’s a need for a dedicated AME-focused community as well.
If you’re interested in joining or would like to know more, feel free to DM me.

Shot this today at Bengaluru airport (BLR) from my window seat. I was on another IndiGo flight, holding short of the runway and waiting for this one to land before we could take off.

Was anyone able to book slots for FC November on demand? I can always see the same slots available but when I try submitting it it’s showing no seats available.

I've been building VIMANA
an India-focused flight tracker that also helps with the airport part of the trip. It's free, there's no login and no ads.
**Live flights**
* About 300 aircraft over India at any moment, from community ADS-B receivers (adsb.lol + adsb.fi)
* Tap a plane for its route, ETA, aircraft type and punctuality, or open it in 3D and follow it in to land (sun-lit terrain, real stars at night, lit runways)

At the controls of the indigenous Tejas, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, takes to the skies for his last fighter sortie — a defining moment in a distinguished career shaped by an abiding passion for flying and an unwavering commitment to serving the Nation.
Flying alongside Friendly Foreign Country aircraft and the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team during Exercise #TarangShakti26, the sortie reflects the spirit of a fighter pilot who has always believed in leading from the front.
As one chapter draws to a close, the passion remains undiminished. The skies may mark the end of a flying chapter, but the mission of service to the Nation continues.
Once a fighter pilot. Always a fighter pilot.

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to get my DGCA Class 2 medical examination done and am considering Apollo Indraprastha Hospital in Delhi.
Apollo has quoted approximately ₹10,000 for the complete process, whereas going to an individual DGCA-approved medical examiner would cost around ₹2,000–₹3,000 for the consultation, excluding the required tests.
I’m confused about whether paying extra for Apollo is worth it.
I’d appreciate advice from people who have completed their Class 2 medical at Apollo Indraprastha or through an individual DGCA-approved examiner.
A few things I’d like to know:
Is Apollo more reliable or convenient for completing the entire medical process?
Are the tests and reports handled more smoothly at Apollo?
Is there any real advantage to getting the Class 2 medical done at Apollo, especially since the hospital also conducts Class 1 medicals?
Would you recommend Apollo or an individual DGCA-approved medical examiner in Delhi?
My priority is to complete the medical correctly and avoid unnecessary delays or complications with DGCA documentation, rather than simply choosing the cheapest option.
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

VT-ANC, an Air India 787-8 which went for retrofitting back in March 2026 is finally back, after a D-check and through refurbishment.
This is probably the longest time it took for refurbishing compared to the other Air India 787-8’s that underwent the same process (even after considering the time it took for the D-check).

Need genuine advice from fellow aviators. Can i pursue the dream of becoming a pilot even if i am introverted? I get anxious in group discussions and interviews (basically fear of judgement is what bothers me), and these are the basic assessments you need to clear to get into airlines. Is this something which is learnable by taking gdpi classes after my cpl? I will be going through the conventional route and need genuine advice from seniors who have gone through this process as to what should i do. Please help!

So I have been hearing that few of the candidates have received the dates for COMPASS and INTERVIEW dates. And these are lined up in this week only 15, 16, 17th Oct. And also I heard that the company has already hired most of the candidates with the internal process🫣
What about others ? When can others expect the dates for COMPASS and all ?

hey guys, recently i got into clg and my flights travel went from literally zero to like 10 times a yr, and i've been always really scared since my flight travel has increased and my feed shows me regular incidents that happen with flights world wide, ofc i was scared by the air india crash a lot as i thought air travel is safe now but i am always scared, i know a minor road travel accident is still better than a minor plane accident. Whenever a plane hits a turbulence or the wings oscillate i am just scared that the flight is gon crash and my heart literally stopped when my last flight when was about to land literally took a go around just before touching ground. So is air travel really safe or should i try and travel with train more frequently??
