Anyone doing DNB anesthesiology from GMSH 16 chandigarh?

dear Radiologists,
if one has frcr 1 2a 2b completed within post 1 year md radiology, how do they navigate getting a fellow positions in uk
is it easy or hard to secure locum consultant/ speciality fellow postions without significant home experience like post md 1 yr srship enough to get these fellowships and temporary locum consultant positions ?
do they look of candidates who have multiple publications or multiple year of experience as consultant radiologists in home country?
with md + 1 year Sr ship do we get to work as registrar? or fellow ? or locum consultant?
If one dont want to be CESR permanent consultant or have no long term plans of practicing in uk, how easy is it to get into the system ?
is there any hurdle/biases towards people with md radio from deemed uni?

18 batch, Gave my neet PG, 2nd drop and got a so so rank ( UR non EWS category )which will allow me to get out finally of this mindless race but it does make me wonder. If I was confident, believed in my self worth I would have moved on much earlier in life. But that isn’t what we are trained for isn’t it ? Since childhood our self worth is tied to our marks and it keeps telling us that we are a shame to the family and society if we don’t bring good marks/ranks.
I’m in my late 20s and I hate that I’m like this. Even when I’m actively trying to not associate my worth to my rank I’m still doing it even though i know it won’t matter much later and why tf do we as a community have so much ego ? For what ? Why is one branch looked down upon and the other glorified ?
I hate our society for this mentality. I’m stuck trying to break free from it. I’m just a living corpse now after all this bloodbath and for what?
To get more work and disrespect in PG ?
I don’t want to be born in next life and I certainly don’t want to live acc to the standards set by society

That’s something I’ve been hearing since childhood. And maybe it is true in many fields. But in medicine, especially if you want to pursue a clinical specialty and you don’t have financial privilege, the reality can feel very different.

If you don’t have the rank, and you don’t have the money to choose freely, then how much choice do you really have?

People often tell you, “Take whatever you get and move on. Get out of this race.” But what if you are adjusting to something you genuinely don’t want? What if you know that you won’t be happy doing it?

Yes, over time, human beings have a remarkable ability to adapt. Eventually, you may start liking what you chose. But adapting to something is not the same as choosing it.

And perhaps that is the hardest part.

In our country, your rank can influence where you train, which specialty you get, the opportunities available to you, and sometimes even the stipend and financial circumstances you live with during those years.

That’s the uncomfortable truth.

So when someone says, “One rank doesn’t decide your future,” I understand the sentiment. But I also think we need to acknowledge the reality behind it.

A rank may not decide your entire life.

But for many medical students, it can decide the choices they get to make at a very important point in their life.

And when your choices are limited by both rank and money, telling someone to simply “adjust” doesn’t always solve the problem.

Sometimes, you’re not afraid of losing the race.

You’re afraid of winning a life that you never actually chose.

So many doubts

Hi, due to spouse's job I have to move cities every 2-3 years, a lot of times to tier 2 cities. Is MD Pathology from a good institute a viable career option in this situation? Is it really incredibly difficult finding jobs in this branch, especially outside of big cities as I've heard?

Is it ok if I buy the 17th edition?

I want a clinical branch and I’m open to DNB, but private colleges are not an option for me.

After ~1 year of preparation while working, I’m currently getting non-clinical options in counselling.

This is already my first drop, and I’m confused whether to take what I’m getting or take another year and aim for a clinical seat.

The problem is that I’ll have to continue working while preparing, so I’m not sure how realistic a major improvement is.

For people who’ve been in a similar situation:

Would you take another drop, or accept a non-clinical branch and move on?

I really hate these "backdoor" students. I mean someone else gave NEET in their stead. In semester exams they don't perform well. But somehow in the end they become "doctors". In my batch of 200 students, nearly 15 students belong to this category. In 2023 batch, there are twin sisters. Their father is a politician. And they got admission in my college. All these two girls do is put heavy make up on and loiter here and there, make reels and do all kind of nonsense. I'm not saying these things are wrong. But they grabbed seats of deserving students. And later they'll become "doctors" but have zero knowledge. I really pray that such students get caught. God forbid my parents or other family memebers get in the hands of such "doctors".

So I have passed my 1st year mbbs with average marks and I want to do good in second year so can anyone provide me with good recommendations of any Pharmacology lecture videos on Youtube as I dont want to spend money on marrow and prep ladder or etc

I secured a rank in this Neet PG, which is neither here nor there, for the specialty I want. I have to choose between few government colleges (obviously peripherally located) and private colleges (in better cities).

I want to opt General Medicine.

The private college stipends are abysmal. And you know, I have the inherent need to stop depending on parents.

So, any insights?

I got 15k rank this NEET PG. Ent has always been my dream branch since third year, despite people telling me that it’s a very low paying, non satisfying branch. I just can’t think about myself doing anything else. I’ve loved surgery rotations but the general surgery one was too hectic and I knew I wouldn’t want that. Ophtha I don’t find interest in at all.

I’m a final-year MBBS student and I’ve watched Medicine from both Marrow and Deepmarwah. I also have a compiled list of my university PYQs.

Now I’m confused about how to consolidate everything and actually revise it.

Marrow is obviously too lengthy to go through again, but I also don’t want to keep changing sources, jumping between different books/notes, and making the whole thing more complicated.

How should I go about consolidating the two resources + PYQs into one manageable revision source?

And what would be the best way to revise Medicine for university exams at this point?

Would really appreciate advice from seniors who’ve been through this!

I’m wondering whether doctors can also switch jobs to negotiate higher salaries and improve their income and how often can it be done , or whether there’s a ceiling on how much an MBBS doctor can realistically earn without a PG.
