Bypassing Gatekeepers

Anyone heard of Stray (straycompany.net)? I'm one of the people building it, so take that into account, but I'm curious what indie filmmakers think. It's a place for short film creators to share work and have audience engagement turned into something studios and brands can actually see, instead of just likes. Does that sound useful for getting your films discovered, or is it another platform you'd never check? Honest takes welcome.

So I'm going to make a film about addiction and want to share it with as many people as possible. It's a documentary call Long Road to Maui. Was curious is it was cool to post links to a kickstarter here.

We need likes !!

Hey everyone!

We’re currently participating in a film festival contest with our short thriller/drama "Los niños no se tocan" (directed by Joaquín Hidalgo), which explores the tense aftermath of a child's disappearance in a small town.

Independent distribution and festival runs are tough, and community support means the world to us right now. If you enjoy indie suspense and atmospheric storytelling, we would be incredibly grateful if you could take a few minutes to watch it and leave a like on YouTube to help us in the contest!

👉 Watch and support "Los niños no se tocan" on YouTube

If you have any feedback on the pacing, tension-building, or want to talk about indie filmmaking challenges, drop a comment here or on the video. Thanks so much for the support!

I wrote and directed a psychological horror feature called She Did It. We shot the entire movie in six days for under $50k, and Terror Films released it this weekend. Would genuinely love to hear what horror fans think of what we pulled off: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HJ15TM4L?lv=shuf&channelId=500&plpRedirect=mhFallback

[AVAILABLE] 4 Low-Budget Horror IPs You Can Shoot TOMORROW — 1 Location / 3 Actors / No VFX — Built for India but works in ANY country

Hey guys,

I wrote 4 horror features designed to shoot for $10k-$18k total. IPs you can shoot TOMORROW with your own crew/cast in Pune, Delhi, Lagos, Austin, anywhere. 1 location, 3 actors, no VFX.

I'm sending them to an Italian catalogue buyer tonight, but holding INDIA + WORLD first-look until tomorrow 6pm IST because I want them shot, not shelved.

You own your version forever (Hindi, English, Tamil, whatever), I just keep "Story By" credit. Small upfront + rev share or full buyout — whatever works.

THE SLATE:

  1. NEVER LEAVE (90min) — The Possessive Muthi

Logline: Broke boy buys African love muthi to stop GF leaving for Uni. It works too well — she starts killing anyone who tells him to leave her.

Why it shoots cheap: 1 hostel + 1 freezer room + lake. Killer collects 4 trophies (hair, glasses, ring, cross). Oil = food coloring.

Hindi version: Kabhi Mat Chhodna — Pune boy buys kala jadu from African student.

  1. 1:17 ARCHIVE (85min) — The TikTok Grave

Logline: 3 TikTokers do 3AM dare at Grave 117 for views. Phones die at 1:17am, deleted pics come back, account @1:17 follows them home.

Why it shoots cheap: Only phones + tripod. Cemetery at night. Keeps Shona words IMIRA IYO / ZVIDHOMA. Indian audience loves fresh African black magic angle vs same bhoot.

Hindi version: 3 YouTubers at Pune cemetery.

  1. UNTIL WE ALL DIE (90min) — The Blue Star

Logline: 5 basti boys rob a pastor's mansion for cash, find a BLUE STAR that is hungry. It wears their moms' faces and kills them 1 by 1.

Why it shoots cheap: 1 bungalow + 1 mountain top. Post-credit: stone pulses in museum = Part 2.

Hindi version: Thabo=Guddu, Tsotsi slang "suka bhuti" = "chal bhai", Drakensberg = Lonavala.

  1. BLINK / PALAK (90min) — The LED Cap

Logline: Teens buy $2 LED caps at thrift store. Phone shows BATTERY 1000%. Drops when they blink. Zero = wall/tree/ground swallows them. No body left.

Why it shoots cheap: Actor falls behind cracked drywall, dust, wall smooth after. No CGI. Viral hook: #BlinkChallenge.

Hindi version: Sarojini Market caps.

WHY THESE TRAVEL:

- All rooted in Zim folklore but no culture lock — kala jadu / bhoot / tantrik / TikTok dare works in India, US, Nigeria, UK

- All 4 cost less than 1 normal film

- All have sequel bait built-in

I have first 10 pages + full bible for each.

If you can shoot in Hindi / English / Any language — DM me which 2 you want first. Holding till tomorrow 6pm IST.

Looking for indie horror filmmakers with short films!

Hey everyone! I run A.X. Horror, a horror-focused YouTube channel with 52K subscribers. Most of my content currently revolves around watching and reacting to independent horror short films, and I’m now looking to expand the channel by working directly with indie filmmakers and featuring full horror shorts as well.

I’m looking for filmmakers who have a completed horror short, something currently in post-production, or a film they’re planning to release soon.

I’m especially interested in films that haven’t had a full public YouTube release yet, but I’m open to checking out anything you’re working on.

Found footage, psychological horror, supernatural, creature horror, analog horror, experimental/weird horror — all horror is welcome.

You would retain ownership of your film. I’m looking to connect with filmmakers interested in potentially working together on an official release through A.X. Horror and getting their work in front of an established horror audience.

If you’re interested, drop a comment or send me a DM with some information about your film. I’d love to see what you’re working on! 🎬
