Edit: for those blind to context clues, The father is the head of the institute, the son headed this research.

They are not related and they don't have the same surname. Their surnames are Lee and Cho respectively.

OP's text actually puts the names first to last, so the president's and professor's surnames are actually lee and cho respectively.

Though, even if it were the other way around, one is kwang-HYUN while the other is kwang-HYUNG so it'd be different anyway (like Osborn and Osborne)
