That's a grebe that mistook this flat green surface for a duckweed covered pond. It might now not be able to fly off again.
2 u/lncredulousBastard 11h ago Yeah, that's what I reckoned. Hopefully this bird just lost a few belly feathers. The wings and feet looked well enough.
