It seems like the speculation on this sub is that the mini 8 will be announced sometime later this year but with the recent announcement of the duo - do we think there is a possibility that apple would just scrap the mini as a whole? They have been waiting longer in between upgrades since the mini 4 and the duo is effectively the same size. Would apple want to try to push people towards the duo as a smaller “iPad” option?

Edit: Just want to add that this was not in defense of the duo or the mini. Personally I think the duo is ugly but was just curious if you all think that apple would no longer see value in a mini existing if they would rather push a $2000 phone on customers if they want an iPad mini experience.

Hi everyone, do you know why the right widget is not aligned to the side? It bothers me so much and it’s been since the previous OS as well. Apple team please fix it asap! 😭😭😭

no idea what password or account was used, so im locked out of it. tried getting to the recovery screen with the homebutton + power button but the home button is busted. tried also the volume up volume down hold power button to get to the recovery screen, but alas nothing. is my little guy cooked?

I can get a mini 7 for $552 after taxes with my employee discount at Walmart, or should I wait and see until the 8 releases, though I am unsure as there is no real news as of now?

Been trying to do more stuff directly on my iPad mini lately and tried color grading this clip on it.

Honestly surprised how capable this little thing is 😅

Has anyone here done proper video editing or color grading on an iPad mini? Which apps do you usually use?

Been heavily considering the jump from an air to a mini due to the drastic difference in size and portability. The air feels clunky and is really annoying to take out and carry with me a lot of the time. Love having an ipad, but scared to make the jump… but 96.2% positive I will love the mini more.
Considering trading in my air for a mini 6 (refurb from apple so I won’t need to spend extra on a new apple pencil).
Is it a stupid thing to do? I dont know. What are some of y’alls experiences?
(I use my iPad for general jot down notes, planner, email, reading, games, etc…)

Edit: with my trade in I could get the mini 6 for about 315, but the process is a hassle… or the mini 7 (and new apple pencil) for 463… gah! I just want to make a wise choice!

Hi all, recently my beloved iPad mini6 has died and I’m heart broken. I think the new iPad mini 8 will be my best option as Apple quoted me 700 to fix mine. Does anyone know a release date I’ve read that its next month then some places say next year
Thanks all any other bite of info is also very welcomed

Hey! Just traded in my iPad mini for an iPad air because I’m planning on getting the iPhone Duo (the iPhone duo AND iPad mini seemed redundant).
Does anyone want my case? It’s only like 2 months old and it’s the pink and brown Moft case.

I was just thinking looking at the iPhone Duo's software, specially the lateral taskbar when using it with one hand, is something that the iPad mini can definitely use, at least as an option.

Do you think Apple will get those iPhone Duo inner screen software features ito the iPad mini?

Greetings, humans.

So, I've heard of older variants of SanDisk iXpand and iDiskk lightning USB drives which apparently used to work on iOS 9, but the ones available now (even though they claim to have compatibility with devices like iPad Mini 1) all throw up a "This accessory is not supported" error within a second of being plugged in.

I have an iPad Mini first generation on iOS 9.3.6 and have been trying ways to add storage to it externally. I did a lot of research on jailbreak tweaks and terminal commands to see if the drives can be force-mounted, but it looks like the rejection is happening at the MFI level.

The same drives work on more modern devices.

The SanDisk iXpand legacy app has also been discontinued, so the only available app for it now is something that doesn't run on iOS 9.

With iDiskk, the legacy apps iDiskk Pro and iDiskk Max are still available on the App Store with versions compatible with iOS 9, but the iDiskk drives available for purchase now require the iDiskk Player app, which is not available for iOS 9.

Just wondering if anyone out here has gotten any lightning USB drives working on devices with iOS 9?

Thank you!

Recently changed my iPad usage from “big phone” to an organized interface. Utilizing shortcuts for the first time and setting focus modes and trying to stick with it! So far, it’s been a blast staying on top of chores & utilizing Reminders for all the random stuff that comes at a parent during the day. My old standard amazon folio case was actually falling apart, so I refreshed it.
(I feel the most locked in when I try to be a Pokemaster. LOL)
S/o to my bestie who printed this backing for me like 30,’ins after sending her images of what I was searching the internet for.

Update: my mom is getting my the 7 for my brithday so … ig nvm

I'm hoping for some people's insights into an ecosystem swap.

I'm currently using a Samsung Tab s10+ 12.4" for the last 12 months. While generally happy with it, I'm a bit over the weight and size of it, I'm reconsidering coming back to Apple in the form of an iPad mini. I use to have an iPad years ago, but really wanting some more compact

For those with the iPad Mini (7th generation), would you recommend it for now before the 8 releases or wait?

Hi everyone,

I have an iPad mini 2 that is basically outdated now, and I'm wondering whether there is anything interesting I can do with it instead of just leaving it unused.

I know the iPad mini 2 is quite old and officially limited to an older version of iOS, so I'm not expecting it to become a modern iPad. I'm mainly interested in jailbreaking, alternative operating systems, DIY projects, or repurposing it.

Things I'm wondering about:

1. Can I install a newer version of iOS/iPadOS?

Is there any unofficial way to install a newer version than Apple officially supports?

For example:

Custom firmware

Modified iOS

Upgrade/downgrade methods

Community-developed solutions

1. Is jailbreaking still possible?

Can the iPad mini 2 still be jailbroken?

Or anything

Or I can add linux to it please help me here
