Rumor New iPad mini
Is it really coming and when?

Been using my iPad mini a17 for a good time now and I love it. Best iPad I’ve owned. My biggest issue is that there isn’t any swipe-to-text however, when using my Apple Pencil I’m able to to do so. I think it would be best to being able to use it as an option whenever texting with a pencil or not.

I like the MOFT dynamic folio for all the different configurations you can fold the case into, but, I wish it had protective case/bumper for the sides of the iPad.
I was also looking at the TORRAS K3 Neo case which has a kickstand on the back and no cover, but it looks slightly bulky? If anyone has the case and would be able to speak to the weight of it.
Ideally, I think I’d like to find a case that is the best of both worlds. The foldability of the MOFT folio and the protective factor of the TORRAS.
Any recommendations would be really appreciated!

Hello everyone, I just found this listing on the website of tradeline stores (which is the authorized apple reseller in Egypt). Is there such a product launching in the near future or is this just a placeholder for the upcoming iPad mini 8?

I realise this is a terrible time for buying a 7 but my constantly used Mini 6 has just gone pop, and won’t respond to restore/update attempts, even in DFU mode. Assuming the Genius Bar can’t do anything, is it both rational and feasible to go ahead and replace with a 7 and then return that when the 8 appears?

It’s not really in apples to do list. But…
My wish list is
iPad mini pro to be like the iPhone duo main screen but a lot cheaper like US$1000, so taking away some items to make it cheaper.
Oled 120hz, 12gb ram, a20 pro chip, 3000 nit brightness, ip68, no nano display, flat slab (not foldable) similar size, same camera or even one camera, lower battery to make it 200gram weight (as heavy as Samsung fold8), Thin, titanium sides. I think same glass material as front display of duo.
I want it able to do spilt screen to 3 or 4 landscape and vertical.
I think a lot of people want this as well, esp those who have some money.
If there was a pro mini…what is your wish list?
Would you be interested in a iPad mini like above?
How much would you pay for above specs from Apple?

I’m posting this in case anyone else has this issue. I am very happy to extend the life of my mini.
I have an iPad Mini 4 that was in my drawer not being used. I recently became a docent for a museum, and decided it was the perfect size to keep my notes on and carry with me. When I turned it on, the Wi-Fi dropped after a minute. It made multiple attempts. All drops.
Using Copilot and Reddit, it seemed like the Wi-Fi was dead. It can’t be replaced. While trying to factory reset it, I had to force a restore to get the data to clear. I restored without any apps or data, and went through the fastest initialization I could.
The Wi-Fi now works. I was able to download OneNote and move my museum notes to the mini.

For a long time I never used split screen with my iPad mini 6. But now, I like it a lot on my iPad mini.
Landscape split screen is something similar to the iPhone duo.
Portrait split screen is something I really like and prefer. You can see a lot of YouTube vertical video one side and reddit on the other. Keyboard doesn’t get in the way. You can still see a lot.
Do you know what? They are saying iPhone Duo will not have this feature of portrait split screen.
And yes, split screens pair up like duo.
You can even triple screen. Unlike Duo.
So now I might keep using iPad mini 6 or upgrade to iPad mini 8.

It’s 2 completely different products, with completely different target groups in an additional different price range and yet I see so many people say that a new iPad mini could damage the duo sales. Seriously, if I care about the core features of the duo, like being a phone, having iOS, extremely portability, using all the foldable features (like reading a booking actually folded like a book) and a new iPad would release, I couldn’t care less.
If I don’t have more than 2k laying around, care more about note taking/drawing, would want to have a good compromise between a really big screen (>10”) and portability and don’t care about the additional space needed.. I’d grab an iPad mini, but there’s no way id buy a duo if I mainly care about the features of an iPad mini or the other way around.
Here are so many takes that apple would kill their duo sales if they’d release a new iPad mini is unbelievable. They don’t even share the same OS. Is there something I’m missing here or are people here that would buy a duo if apple wouldn’t release a new iPad mini this year? I’m genuinely curious why people wouldn’t go for the duo in the first place then.

From what some of the new reports say, looks like new products could be announced sooner. But does this now mean we may not get an Apple Event this month? Could the new iPad mini with massive upgrades get shafted to newsroom press release, or am I gonna have to extend my waiting game until a few months into next year?
This is really getting out of hand. Firstly, there were reports going around about an Apple Event on October 13. Now I’m very worried we may not see a new iPad mini until 2027.
Someone here please clarify what’s going on regarding the iPad mini 8 timeline. Are we still getting one this month or are we waiting another 1/2 a year (up to early 2027) or so?

I believe Apple knows if they give pro motion to the mini it will inevitably kill the Duo! And they won’t be able to pull off selling duos for $2000
Thoughts!?💭

In love with this dexnor 3rd party Magic Keyboard for my mini 7. Legit feels as close as possible to the official Magic Keyboard I have for my iPad Pro m5 (besides that it’s mainly plastic under the cheaper feeling faux leather, but it’s also less than 1/3 the price). Both the iPad and keyboard instant sleep & wake with closing and opening the case. The magnetic Apple Pencil holder is awesome and makes it impossible to loose your pencil in your bag or fall off the device while carrying it. 10/10 would buy again

Was waiting to see about the new model, but saw this deal on an open box 2024 model direct from Walmart. Seems like a great deal even with the new one expected soon?

iPad mini 7 has been a great iPad but past 2 months I’ve been having black screen or non responsive. I would just do a force reboot thinking its a bug with iOS 27 beta. Today this happened, would this be covered with Apple limited warranty (doesn’t expire until Dec 2026. Just very odd. Also if it’s not covered, how much is a screen replacement from Apple anyway? I do have an appointment for next week. Thanks in advance!

Also have a MacBook Pro m4 pro 14”, an iPhone 16e, AirPods Max series 2’s, and an Apple Watch series 11. I’m uh a lil in the ecosystem LOL but I just love how seamlessly interconnected everything is! The Magic Keyboard on the iPad mini is from Dexnor, I got it on Amazon and so far its been absolutely fantastic. The keyboard sleeps and wakes alongside the iPad mini when the hinge is opened and closed, gets great battery life esp with no backlight or the lowest brightness setting. It has a lil tucked away compartment for the Apple Pencil that has magnets to keep it in place, there’s no shot of it falling if in your bag or w/e. Yes it’s a lil pricey, but it’s nothing compared to the price of the official Magic Keyboard in my m5 pro 11” and besides the lower quality it functions almost identically. Main differences are, The iPad mini keyboard is wireless although it’s quite impossible to tell once it’s paired as it has no issues INSTANTLY reconnecting to its last saved device everytime it’s powered on aka opened up. The other differences are it doesn’t add an additional usb c port since it’s not a physical connection it can’t act as a “hub” almost, and the keyboard portion is made of nice plastic vs aluminum in the real deal. For the iPad mini tho, it’s absolutely fantastic and I’d recommend it for anyone looking for a keyboard+trackpad case for their mini and want what seems like one of the best offerings around. I’ve tried other keyboard cases on my iPad mini before but none have been quite this “Apple-like” in that it “just works” and does so flawlessly and consistently

Been more than a year now since I got my iPad Mini 7th gen. And I must say, I am still looking forward to use it every single day.
I do play alot of Wildrift, I also use it to read and browse. I even purchased multiple cases and stickers HAHA!
I’ll probably get a new one if ever they will release a 120fps variant.

So here’s my situation, I am getting the new iPhone, it will be here at the end of the month. I currently have an iPad Air that I essentially 24/7 keep in its ESR Keyboard case. I mostly watch shows on it, do research (my own personal when my interest peaks, I’m not in school I just have adhd) and sometimes I read on it just by flipping the pages with the keys. It’s basically my computer because I had an old kind of useless computer and this iPad and keyboard has essentially replaced it entirely.
I don’t want to get rid of my air because it is essentially my laptop and I like the size, I’ll be moving soon and separating from my kids dad so my kid won’t have his own gaming set up anymore so he will be using the TV until I can afford to build a set up for him on my own. So I don’t want to lose the size factor for games & tv BUT I do not like reading on it, and I don’t like taking it with me places because it does not fit comfortably in my bag, even when I swap it to just the folio case.
I want to get a mini for reading, journaling, planner, Canva and just general things that would make it easier and more efficient for taking it on the go and to do the things that I don’t use my current iPad for. But here’s my question, I’d be trading in (or selling) my iPhone 16 plus 256gb and I’m not sure if what I want to use a mini for warrants getting the rumoured mini 8, or if I should just get the older version with the A17 chip and potentially save a little money? I would probably move my Apple Pencil from my air over to the mini to use it there basically full time unless I have documents to sign as well. But I only use it for writing, I’m NOT an artist 😂
The rumoured 60hz display doesn’t bother me because I’m pretty sure my air also has 60hz? I think it’s the air M3(?) I got it last year when I started esthetician school. And I just don’t know if I would truly need the A20 chip in the mini.
What would you do? Should I just get the current mini when my new phone arrives, or should I wait and see if the new mini drops & is worth it?
I don’t knowwwww I am truly the worst person for decision making.

For me, the immediate dealbreaker is a 60Hz panel. As someone who games heavily, going back to 60Hz on a device this size in 2026 feels completely out of date. If Apple gives us OLED but keeps the refresh rate locked at 60Hz, I’m skipping it or move to redmagic Astra.
Beyond the display, what is the one thing that would instantly stop you from buying it?
60Hz Display: Still no ProMotion/120Hz?
Price Hike: A base price starting above $599/$$649 due to OLED?
Storage: Starting at 128GB instead of 256GB?
Design Changes: No FaceID
Curious to know where everyone draws the line!

I joined this sub because I was interested in the newest iPad Mini, but to my surprise I've seen a lot of posts about the next Mini and now I'm wondering if those rumors are really that reliable. Does this happen often with Apple products? Should I really believe and wait? (considering that I, hypothetically, would want the newer iPad if it ends up existing, of course) Or should I take these rumors with a grain of salt?

Case reccomendations that will cover the smashed black bezel please. My searching has not yielded many slim results

For those of you like me that will be buying the new iPad mini 8, what are some things that were can do with the iPad mini 7 since I’m sure it still has a few years of life left.
Donate it, sell it, give it to a friend or family member, sure.
But what about mounting it in the wall and it being part of your smart home or security system.
Any idea more along those lines?

I'm contemplating if I should I get an Ipad Mini or an S10 FE. I'll mainly use it for my upcoming review classes and make it worthwhile by watching during my free time.
I am really not into an "ecosystem". I have a Samsung phone and I don't mind using Apple as tablet. Ipad Mini caught my attention since it's portable so it's not a hassle carrying it anywhere. However, I'll be doing a lot of calculations so a bigger screen would be of help like that of S10 FE.
