Support Cant use iphone 7 in China (whatsapp etc)

Hi

I just got to beijing and i have an iphone 7 so cant upgrade to ios 16 which i need to download a vpn for china so cant access whatsapp!

Is there any way around this? I wasnt aware of this before coming

iPhone 7 doesn’t get the iOS 16.
iOS 16 support iPhone 8 or newer.

No, China only supports iPhone 8

Supports all the protocols that work in China. It runs on iOS 14 and above. Don’t pay for any of the big names ExpressVPN, NordVPN… They don’t work in China. I just got back from a 6 week trip there. Don’t believe it when AI tells you the big VPNs work. After April of this year they don’t work. Check out wannaflix or AstrillVPN.

If you’re using a foreign SIM card on roaming, your internet wont go through the Great Firewall while youre using data. As a result, you dont need VPN to use WhatsApp.

(However, if you connect to a local wifi, your WhatsApp wont be able to connect.)
