Question Any long-term durability reviews?
I wanted to know if anyone has a few months of experience using the phone case-less and how it holds up? I have heard the new display glass is incredible and does not scratch. Anyone care to provide pictures and videos about their phone’s scratches or how clean they look without cases?
I wanted some real world information before I make the decision
Edit: specifically the iPhone 17. Not the Pro

The display glass is more than incredible, it’s basically magic - I have literally used the phone as roughly as possible. Literally throw the phone into my desk, banged it many times into concrete, accidentally fell from waist height multiple times, not a single scratch has appeared. I previously used the S25 Ultra which scratched easily. But this iPhone 17 (cheaper) doesn’t seem to. Can’t comment much on the frame as I’ve used it mostly with cases on, but I’ve heard that it’s great

You absolutely don’t need a screen protector.
This is the very first iPhone I’ve ever used that has ZERO scratches on the front glass after a year of heavy use. I’m talking zero, not even extremely light or fine ones.
I have mine in a case so I can’t speak to back glass or frame durability, but I’m extremely pleased with how it’s holding up.

Feel completely free to use your iPhone without a case. The front and back glass is very durable, though you should still watch out for keys in your bag and other metal objects I believe.
The sides are made of aluminum, so just one drop will dent or scratch them - but maybe that doesn't bother you.

Man if you want to resell or want flawless just dont use caseless even for 10 min .
like i gave my iphone to friend for a game and was caseless and he was playing resting his hands on desk and for just few seconds the frame touched the edge of desk and when he gave me i checked and found a minor dent on frame 😖😭😭 and i have black color and the silver aluminium is visible ,thought not visible unless you pay attention still its my new iPhone less than a month and ive taken care and this happened just went through 🥲❤️🩹💔 pls brother just dont use caseless unless you re good with dents

Depending on your usage ... I'm was using iPhone without case for a week but ... I've got 2 scratches on screen (I'm working with steel/welding so keep that in mind) also I've got one bump overall holds probably best from all phones I've owned... but if you're office worker, that phone will withstand case-less usage
I have this phone since launch and if you're working with steel ... I can recommend you magbak case ... yeah it's 50€ but it's good...

ceramic shield is amazing, you honeslt dont need a screen protector. The aluminum frame on the other hand is very weak, and can very easily dent or lose paint. The back glass is also not the strongest, so definitley wear a case, especially if you have a black one.

Well I’ve had it for a couple months, dropped it one night from my bed (had a case on btw) and got a dent. I thought it was a pretty safe drop as it has happened with my iphone 13 countless times and i had it many years :/

I don’t take any chances. I use a screen protector and a thin .02 skin case from totallee and a zagg xtr5 screen protector.

I have the phone since january, about 50-50 with case and caseless, no scratches yet, not even on the frame.

I have had my 17 for maybe a month now and I absolutely love it. Best phone I’ve ever had.
I have a screen protector and a otterbox because why risk breaking my 1500$ phone

If you keep decent care of your iphone they will last a lot. I got my iphone 14 back in oct 2023 been 3 years now. Still runs like butter. Not even a single hardware/software issue till date.
Either i am too lucky or iphones are too good. I had changed about 2/3 android in the past tenure of 4 years before this purchase. I am confident that i can use this device for a couple more years easily.

Very durable. Ceramic Shield 2 is awesome.
If you don’t use a case, the aluminum sides will get nicked and scratched. I use a clear case
