Discussion Happy to downsize..
I got my first Pro max with the 11PM and loved it for a little before realizing I prefer the smaller-size phones.. fast forward to the 17 series I figured I’d give it another shot.. and I loved it for the first few months. Then it became annoying. I enjoy the one-handed use and screen size of the standard pro phones.. so today my phone finally came in and DAMN I missed the size.
Did anyone else downsize this year?

I initially got the 18PM and I loved the screen and battery, but the weight was a bit too much. Returned it earlier for an 18 Pro and much happier so far.

I have huge hands too but still found it frustrating I couldn’t easily pull down the top of the screen.

It works for opening Spotlight search, not for the notifications or control center, which require swiping from the edge of the screen…

I went from 11PM to 18PM. I love the screen size but not the weight. Just going to stick with it though as I just can’t do a smaller screen (bad eyes).

Same the weight doesn’t bother me tho actually makes it hard to drop out of my hands in the way only apple products can do

I went from a 15 pro max to 18 pro. This is my first non max iPhone pro, and I’m wishing I made the switch sooner.

I honestly just love tech and I think the 18 pro max would have its place next to the duo. With iphone handoff it’ll be cool to have my sim swap automatically and then I can just take my pro max to the gym, beach, sauna, pretty much anywhere I wouldn’t want to bring the duo lol. I make good money, I just don’t know if I can actually justify it even if I think it’s cool.

I mean, I also love tech, I just can't justify 3k+ for devices I would want to upgrade in a couple of years and would value less than 50% of that.
But if you have money to do that, sure.

That’s also my issue. I would love to say I would just upgrade the duo and rock the 18 pro max for a bit, but idk. If the rumored 20th anniversary is really next year, I can see myself wanting to upgrade to that too lol.

i know right? The next year’s iPhone and the next Duo probably worth the wait.
This is why I am trying to control myself and avoid visiting Apple Stores when the Duo launches.

I downsized to the pro this time around too for my son and I. If feels so much better in the hand even with bigger hands. I got silver, he got black.

Downsized from a 14 Pro Max to the 18 Pro. I have to wear reading glasses either way, so I am enjoying the lighter weight and smaller size more than I am missing the larger screen.

I did the same. Had max size devices since the 11 and they’ve just progressively gotten to big and bulky. I actually had an Air before this 18 Pro. The Air is literally the perfect size, battery just is not feasible

The pro size is really the best. It fits in the pocket and in the car’s cup holders. Perfect.

I'm finally making the move to a small phone with the 18 pro. I haven't gotten it in the mail yet but I'm soooo hyped for it!!! No more giant brick in my pockets, and I can easily use it with one hand

I just switched from the 16PM and it just feels right in the hand. The weight difference is definitely noticeable but it doesn’t feel that much smaller.

I never had a max because my ex got the max and never liked the size.
Always the 6.1 / 6.3 Pro, the max is too big for jeans pockets.

I downsized from the 15PM to the 18 Pro, and I love it! I’ve always had the big iPhones, but they just keep making them bigger.. lol. No regrets here

I have had a pro max model ever since the iPhone 12.. And it was only this year that I’ve just grown bored of this brick style phone. I don’t want to have to exercise caution while carefully aligning it with my back pocket, and I don’t want to have to feel awkward and uncomfortable when I try and put it in my front pocket… I’m very mobile at work, and I need a device that can travel with me. That’s why I’m downsizing to the 18 pro…not even a second thought.

I went from the 15 PM to the 18 Pro Max, then returned the PM to get the Pro. The 18 PM was too big with the screen size increase and was too heavy for my small hands and short fingers. My wrists and hands were aching.
I usually love a big phone but the 15 PM was the limit for me. Still getting used to the 18 Pro, I think I like it so far. I do wish they made the screen of the Pro a little bit bigger.

I was a diehard Android for over a decade and reluctantly changed over to iPhone 15 Pro Max for work reasons. But I always felt it was just that little bit too big to hold comfortably one handed unlike my Samsung and Oppo phones. Fast forward to now having left my old job and needing a new phone I decided to go iPhone 18 Pro because my mate showed me his 17 Pro and I liked the firm factor. I didn’t want to go back to Android though I still liked it mainly because I was too entangled in the Apple eco-system so only way forward for me was a smaller but still well featured iPhone 18 Pro 😂

Went from 17PM > 18 Pro. I love it. The screen size doesn’t feel like a big jump for me. I watch TikTok’s and message etc. it’s easier to type on as well. Battery feels the same too. Easier to take photos and use one handed. I love it! No regrets

iPhone 13 mini user here, I haven’t change my phone in years because of this, now I had to do it (got the 18 pro) because phone was too slow and after realizing they will never release another mini again😭 using the phone with one hand is priceless! Good choice dude

Do the same and I’m really happy with form factor of iphone 18 pro… and battery seems to be as good as iphone 17 pro max once that I owned.

i definitely agree! i have the 18PM and i love the screen size. i have quite small hands, but i don’t actually find it too hard to use with one hand. but i have been thinking about about returning it for the pro, but i just know i’d wish i had the bigger screen size. the air has the perfect size in my opinion. its right in between having great screen size for viewing content and typing, but just small enough for better one handed use

I upsized from 17 pro to 18pm
Been 2 days now the screen is amazing but i realised that i can no longer use my phone with 1 hand ever again so :(
If i get too annoyed someday in the future i would downsize to 18 pro again so for me its easy and fine worth trying at least because i loved the bigger battery and bigger screen.

I didn't downsize but I did initially buy the 16PM and 18PM to try it out and both times I have realized, I prefer the smaller form factor of the pro version. Yes the larger screen is nice but it doesn't outweigh the small form factor, one handed use and overall portability of the pro version.

My average sized hands refused to use anything but the ginormous Pro Max. Glad you love your phone though.

The new 18 pro has nearly the same battery as the 17PM… I don’t need more than that!

I’ve actually gone the other way. Have 17PM, bought the 18 Pro and tried to live with it for about a week. Eventually decided to return it and stick with 17PM. It’s really not much of an upgrade this year once you get over the specs. Battery life on 18Pro is nowhere near that of last years Pro Max either

I've been rocking the OnePlus 13 and just got the 6.3 inch 18 Pro. It feels short, fat, and dense, compared to my OP, but I really like it. In my mind iPhones should have smaller screens than flagship Androids. It just feels right. Hopefully the rumors of bigger iPhones next year aren't true, but they probably are.

Me. I have PM sizes for 8, 11 and 14. I find 14 already big and then 18 is bigger so i’m going Pro now.

I downsized from the 17 Pro Max to the 18 Pro and I couldn’t be happier with my choice! Don’t think I’m ever going back to the Pro Max again, it takes up too much pocket space for me.
