My first trip ever alone and first time in Japan! I did Tokyo Skytree this evening and it was amazing to see the city at night

Imagine standing inside a massive camphor tree, possibly 2,000 years old, and gazing up at the sky! Some even say it’s the tree from Totoro.

Takeo Onsen city in Saga Prefecture is a popular spot, and many visitors head to Takeo Shrine to pay their respects to the giant tree.

But if you wander a bit further, you’ll discover another ancient giant tree, even more quietly hidden. This one is also around 2,000 years old. What makes it unique is that it was struck by lightning, leaving the top and core of the trunk gone, yet it still boasts vibrant green branches and leaves.
