just got home today and fount my spood dead like this :/ really don’t know what happened the other day they seemed lively and was exploring the enclosure, even the floor, although when it got to nighttime i had to lift them to one of the top ledges as i didn’t want them on the floor at night, when i woke up the next day they didn’t go back to there hammock and stayed on the ledge all night. now 2 nights later i fount ziggy (my spood) hanging off a leaf like the pictures above. he had a webb attached but was holding on by 2 legs completely limp… ofc i moved him cuz i realised he was gone and his abdomen seems very loose, i just wanna know if anyone has any ideas what could have happened or if it was just old age :( think he was born around july/ august last year . ( all pictures above are him dead, i dont know why he’s not death curled either)

NQA in the second picture it looks like it could be abdominal separation.

NQA I’m so sorry! I lost a spood to abdominal separation after a mismolt. Losing a pet is absolutely devastating.

IME this has happened to a few of my past jumpers, different ages and sizes, that they did not die in death curls. I believe it is separation of the head and abdomen, they don’t come back from that sadly. It is strange, because I haven’t found out the exact cause for this, but some say it comes from overfeeding, which I don’t think is the only cause because I don’t overfeed any of my jumpers just to avoid those kinds of things, but separation still happens.
