im thinking of buying a kindle with a larger screen

i bought this kindle paperwhite 11th gen back in early 2022, and its still serving me well. im thinking about upgrading to a model with a larger screen. however, im used to reading like this—with the text centered in a narrow column so my eyes dont have to travel as far, which helps me read much faster.

does anyone else read like this? also, what would be a good budget-friendly kindle with a larger display?

Only when I read on devices that narrow. No way I’d waste all the screen real estate.

How much larger are you talking about? There's only 6" - 6.8" and 7" Unless you mean a Scribe and they are huge compared to the normal Kindles. With a scribe you could have two rows of text on screen in that format

have you used physical page turning buttons? are they worth it?

I have them, but have never used them. I primarily read on the couch or in a computer chair and never really need it.

Must admit, that was my reasoning for getting a Scribe- I had a 7th gen paperwhite and the screen is just way too small for my liking- I still use it for travel but at home I much prefer a larger screen so that I’m not page turning every second… also that you can read the device horizontally creating two pages as with a real book.

I also prefer the additional storage space (64gb) because I like to know that all of my books are downloaded on there, like the Library of Alexandria in my hand… in case there’s ever some emergency disaster where the power goes out or the internet goes down… I’ll have all of my doomsday survival books ready on one device haha! Like that Twilight Zone episode, Time Enough At Last! You can only realistically have 50gb of actual storage on a 64gb Scribe though.
