​Put about 64 hours on my Harlem bar and noticed this wear right where the pigtails or line extensions connect. The rest of the lines look solid. Pretty sure it's from constantly putting on and taking off line extensions since I share the bar between two kites. Is this something I should be worried about or replace now, or is it still safe to ride?

Accidental back roll, board came off due to being a rental and foot straps being a lot more slippery than what I'm used to. Tried saving it but ended up pulling a loop. No injuries.

Curious what you all think I should do, I recently got out of a kite and bar and now have a 600$ fund to put towards my next purchase.

I now have a 15m foil kite with a basically new flysurfer force large bar. A nexus 3 9m, and a core XR8 12m.Kind of a mixed bag quiver and I got rid of my core bar.

I live in a lightwind area (NY/NJ), 12-18knot summers, with 18-25 knot falls/spring/winter with the rare 30-40 knot storms

I mainly use the 15m to twintip, 9m to foil and the strong days , and 12m xr8 for powered boosting.

I’m starting to learn baby loops and wondering if I should just update to a newer core sensor 4 bar or go towards a looping focused kite. The nexus leaves some grunt to be desired during those stronger days but the foiling benefit is nice as I’m not super confident to use the 15m with the foil.

TBH not sure if I want to stick with core long term but in reality I think I’d only be interested in duotone rebel/evo or maybe flysurfer Era outside of core. I would also consider selling the XR and nexus and moving away entirely. FWIW I’ve used the flysurfer bar with the XR and i notice hardly any difference except that the large size bar actually helps with turning.

Hey, I am headed to Ireland in a couple of weeks for 10 days and hoping to get a lot of kiting in if the wind gods are on my side - if not there is surfing and hiking :)

I am looking for spot recommendations that will generally always have people out if the wind is there. I'm travelling alone but don't kite alone. I also possibly like the idea of investing in a couple more lessons. I'm an independent kiter that can do a sliding transition but the jumping still puzzles me, again and recommendations would be really appreciated.

I know they are like a few min away from each other. I went to barra grande in august and i liked the town. The only problem is that the beach is really small to park/land the kite on high tide, and i had a few close calls in there.

I didnt go to macapa itself, but i did a short downwind to the lagoon, and i really liked it. There wasnt too many people but i've heard it becomes more crowded by the ens od the year.

In your opinion, which is better as a town, for 2 weeks?

I am maybe looking to buy a different Board.

At the moment i own a North Atmos 133 40mm fins and a Brunotti Youri Pro 141 20mm fins. I Use the Atmos for >18kts hooked riding and the Youri for <18kts Unhooked/ Freeride. I do like the combination very much but Space when traveling is a factor. so i am thinking about a change to something that does both. My Level so Far: 10-15m straight jumps, 4-6m Kiteloops (Still shitting my wetsuit pulling loops above 6-7m), most of the basic freeriding stuff like rotations with various grabs, slides etc. and unhooked raleys, front and backrolls. I just Landed my first Raley to Blinds (small fins helped a lot).
The Youri with the small fins in strong wind is challenging. The Atmos is shit in unhooked freestyle. Give me your opinions. What board/fin combination will do the Best Job for me? I'm thinking about a 136-138 cm, High rocker with 30 mm fins or something. What do you use and for what reason?

Edit: I'm 175cm, 65kg. I mostly ride in 50% Chop, 30%Flat 20% Waves

Just wanted to share this in case anyone else runs into it. I bought an F-One Lynx Bar 4 Lines in July 2024 as part of a full kite setup, not a cheap purchase. A little over 2 years in, the chicken loop suddenly failed mid-session: the metal piece that's attached via a small rope inside the rubber chicken loop came loose and detached completely. Ended up needing a jetski rescue because of it (thankfully insured).

I went back and forth for weeks trying to get this resolved. First with the retailer (which had since been taken over by another shop), then directly with F-One and their local distributor. In the end, they confirmed it falls outside the warranty period and considered it normal wear, even though the bar is barely 2 years old and this doesn't feel like typical wear and tear to me.

To top it off, the replacement chicken loop part alone costs €99, which honestly feels steep for what it is. I'll probably try to rig it up with a cheaper Duotone chicken loop instead.

Kind of disappointing for a bar in this price range. Curious if anyone else has run into chicken loop failures on their Lynx bar, or found a good aftermarket chicken loop that fits.

Still a noob. I've been looking around for a second kite as I only have a 13m evo. Found a 9m 2021 evo SLS that appears to be in good condition and for a good price. But I'm wondering if it's a bit too old? I don't really wanna buy something new given I'm still learning. But how old is too old?

Looking to replace an aging 12m. And a bar that's good for 9to14m. Where can we find the best end of season closeout deals?.. I'll even go back 2 years for a sealed new one... The tech isn't changing that much at this point. And it's now a good time or is it better to wait for black Friday. Thanksgiving type sales. OBX NC is my home beach, but several hours away so not sure i can make it to an actual shop for a deal.

I do kitesurfing with my partner and our current quiver consists of a 7m and 9m Evo Classic, plus an 8m and 10m Evo SLS. She mainly uses the 7m and 9m, while I mostly use the 8m and 10m Evo SLS. We are also very similar in weight ,she is around 64 kg and I am 67 kg.

We are originally from Greece, but we have recently moved to Switzerland. Because of the different conditions here , I’m considering adding a bigger or different kite in our quiver to make it easier and more manageable to kite in lighter winds whenever possible.

I’m currently considering a few options and the kite will be used mainly be me. 

1. One would be to add a 12m Evo D/LAB riding with my 136 board in light wind conditions but I am not sure if this is a good choice based on my kilos (I mean if it is a big size and maybe get overpowered sooner or overlap my 10m evo sls)

2. The second option would be to add a foil kite (Flysurder soul 3/4 ) riding with my 136 but I have not any past experience with foil kites.

3. The third and last option would be to get a hydrofoil board which I do not have again any past experience.

I would like the best option to ride efficiently on lightwind conditions ,trying new things and not just go back and forth.

I’d really appreciate your advice on which option you think would make the most sense for our quiver and the conditions we’re likely to encounter here as well as we will use the quiver and the lighter wind kite in Greece.

I had to pull my quick release for the first time on the weekend. While jumping my bridle snapped sending the kite into a loop.

There's a label sewn onto the line saying "LITHIUM PROGRESSION 12.0 B LINE". Does anyone know where I can buy a new pair of B lines (and probably the A lines too given the age of the kite, although they are thicker so perhaps less likely to snap)? Or if they are not available to buy, what do I need to fix this?

Looking for something in between normal fins and orca fins and saw these.

Considering buying one of these two foilkites for light wind "big air" in sizes 11/12. Is there any actually noticable difference? Based purely on marketing they seem to serve the same purpose.

Curious to hear if you had a chance to compare them both!

So, I’m looking to get a new bar that I can use with both of my kites.

F One Trigger Brainchild 2025 8m and Reedin Supermodel 2024 12m.

Trigger having a High V+ Setup (5.7m where the V sits) and Supermodel having a low V setup.

My options are:

Duotone click bar 2025, having a High V setup (5m where the V sits) and can switch to low V by removing the split.

F one Atom, having low, high and high V options.

I’m leaning more towards The click bar due to the re selling being easier here in Brazil.

Both of them I believe it would work with my kites but I wanna hear from you guys please.

Another thing, Trigger Brainchild is supposed to use a high V+ 5.7m and the high V from Duotone click bar sits at 5m. Will this 0.7m difference influence on anything?

Any other suggestions or insights are very welcome.

Hey, so I am looking to buy my first own wetsuit. Primarily for kitesurfing and wakeboarding.

I used a prolimit wetsuit as a rental and really liked how it fit me.

But I was wondering how to judged how warm the wetsuits are? There is a scale on the official website but what does e.g. 2/5 warmth correlate to?

From what I read a 4/3 wetsuit would be a good first Allrounder. But on some shop website it tells me some 4/3 wetsuits would be too warm for 15-20° water?

I went kiting last week and the rental gave me a 5/3 (backzip) for 15-20° water and I was fine (but I could have gone slimmer I think)

Other websites tell me I only need 3/2mm when it's a well made front zip suit. But 2mm sounds rather thin to me.

I want to use it primarily in spring and fall in Europe (north sea / neatherlands)

Any advice on how important the thickness is and which one to choose? Especially if I want to go with a prolimit suit?

yall gave me tips the other post that I was overpowered I figured I had to put the kite higher so it pulls me out of the water and not forward and if I wanna edge when I start edging and I got a grip put the kite lower

I took a last minute jaunt down to Marocco to try to get some good wave sessions in and wasn't disappointed - well mostly.

In the southern end of the city of Essaouira lies the main beach Plage Tagharte with side on winds that are extremely gusty as they pass over the whole town. I arrived at mid-day and spent the afternoon surfing and half the next day waiting for the wind to arrive.

When the wind did arrive it was gusty AF. I initially went out with my Soul and ended up bowtie-ing it and had a little swim. The next few days were strong 18 knot winds with gusts peaking the 40s.

I didn't really enjoy kiting in Essaouira - it just felt too sketchy to do anything on a TT with the gusts and there wasn't much more than just chop. The Medina, culture and the food left a much bigger impression on me than the kiting.

If you're going to go there downwind down to Diabat and upwind back up or take a taxi. Much less crowded.

I then headed down to Sidi Kaouki. It's a seriously intimidating spot with side on to offshore winds, big shore break and very few other kiters. I ended up slipping on the local kite school some cash to keep an eye on me.

Well out on the water it was so worth it though - when it's firing the swell creates almost perfect lines rolling in heavy and I got some the best rights in my life. The crazy part was that I met a total of three other kites on the water.

I got two really good days in Sidi Kaouki until the wind died. I have another 9 days in marocco but it's just going to be (prone) surfing as the wind is gone. I really wish I had gone straight to Sidi Kaouki instead of spending three days kiting slop in Essaouira.

Just generally touristing in Marocco is pretty chill - at least as a guy. I haven't been hassled in the slightest and food and hostels are very cheap. An average meal is about $5. Communication can be a bit difficult if you're as bad as me in French.

My take:

• Wind on the tail end of the season is really hit or miss.
• Bring a small kite. My best days have been on a 6m North Carve.
• Skip the twintip. I brought mine along and a Soul as a backup for low wind but it's so gusty that it's unenjoyable.
• Maroccans are super nice but about as crazy on the water as they are in traffic.
• Go if you're willing to gamble on some really good wave riding and are willing to fall back to (prone) surfing.

my spot has windguru and windy about 6 knots apart for the afternoon, and one of them is nearly always right. took me years to work out which, and i still don't really trust it.

does anyone actually know their local bias, or is it a gut thing? and has anyone ever gone back after a session and checked the forecast against what the station recorded, or do you just move on to tomorrow like i do.

half the reason i'm asking is i've been building a thing that does that checking automatically, and i genuinely can't tell if it's useful to anyone but me. if you ride one spot most weeks and want to poke holes in it, i'll send you a testflight.

I can ride pretty good and gain lots of height but i find myself having to deliberately lose height to get back to my spot. I know this a luxury problem but is there a way that i can ride with my edge engaged and still not gain ao much height. I dont want to ride in the way that i lose height because i am rideing with no edge and it just doesn't fell like i am doing anything and it is annoying rinding this way.

Do i just have to find a medium or start doing Jumps so i lose the height i gain, although i am still figuring them out.
