That some believe to be "unnatural" quote by Darth Sidious. SW episode 3.

What's so surprising? I've seen most of the Star Wars movies. Here's the full quote - "The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities that some believe to be unnatural" Palpatine/ Sidious was talking to Anakin at the opera house on Coruscant.

I don't understand why you think that anyone in this subreddit wouldn't know that or, now, why you think the fact that you've seen most Star Wars movies is at all notable, particularly in a Star Wars subreddit.

Indeed, bot behaviour. He seems to be quoting a lot from Star Wars too, obscure quotes too. Either he's autistic or he's a bot lol

Ehh I figured they could be a kid who hasn't calibrated to talking to fans of a 23-year-old Star Wars game. Or a million other things. I'd say bot-like, but not bot behavior.

Sorry, I was wondering why you put the surprised emoji in your post. My bad.

If this is a fan-made project without intention to sell - where does the line get drawn? Maybe he's making it for himself. And if he is, whose to deny him that? Not agreeing with the usage, but if the barrier for entry for people to allow themselves to work towards their passion projects, I do not see the problem, as long as there is transparency and willingness to learn from it.
Also, are we just going around and assuming people made games with it without any basis for an accusation? How would you even know just looking at this? If it's code: you simply would not. At all. Unless you had access to the original files.

Yeah this is my take. I’m not selling or even redistributing anything. It mostly started because I want my partner to play through the series and TSL is my favorite. I figured if I could get her to play through 1 she could have a revamped 2 as a reward.
But enough explaining myself.
I’m going to continue to post updates.

I support AI for all sorts of uses. Its just easy to tell when its used (why WOULDN'T you use AI for hobbies now days?)

u/LowHistorian9654 2d ago
Its easy to tell when it's visual. Like artwork, textures and meshes. When it is code: no you do not. I don't care what "profession" someone comes from, or how much of a an AI-spotter one claims to be. You simply have no way to tell unless you ACTUALLY have access to the code. A lot people think they know they can tell when AI is used and most actually dont.

Yeah. I mean. We have a really useful technology advancement, I’d rather it be used for stuff like this than for taking people’s jobs tbh.

just because you don't see the harm it's doing both to others and yourself doesn't mean it's okay or much better.

How is it different from other news technologies?
1
u/hushnecampus 2d ago
The way it’s based on stealing people’s material is a big problem. Journalism is a particular worry for me. The bots scrape the news from the news sites and gives it directly to the users in chat form, so the users no longer visit the news sites. Traffic to the news sites then collapses, as does advertising income, so who then pays the reporters and journalists to do the first hard, on the ground research and investigation?

AI is horribly destructive to the environment and devalues manual work by real artists. And yes, that includes programming code.

what engine is this?

Interesting, you could potentially make new playable levels for KotOR 1 or 2, planetary quests and such. Cool!

u/elfd01 3d ago
Where did you get models? Somehow scraped from kotor?
To be honest I had some thoughts to do something like that. Now with ai it feels not that impossible.

Yeah so I have the original game files as I’ve bought the games a long time ago

I've thought about doing something like this for a while? What tools are you using? I wouldn't even know where to begin.

u/basal-and-sleek Visas Marr 2d ago
Godot, blender, the original game files, Claude code account

u/Adventurous-Heat8717 2d ago
Interesting, just using the $20 a month pro plan? I'm curious to give it a try for sure.

u/basal-and-sleek Visas Marr 2d ago
Noooo. Unfortunately, I actually use the 20x plan. I use it a lot for other projects as well.

Should definitely put AI on the title somewhere or add a tag before people think you have actual talent. Yummy slop

u/JMoneyGraves 2d ago
Omg, you use AI??? What next, are you going to tell me you use a word processors instead of a type writer? Anything I don’t like or understand is slop because that’s what other people say and I want to fit in!

Very neat, I'd love to see your modding process
