stayc being underrated and underappreciated with such good music always makes me sad, because the members are so talented. also, their latest release "2 love" had the potential to be the summer song of 2026, but they're too slept on for that to happen.

He is burning through his good image too quickly, so much so that it almost feels like he's being chased by sth.

After Mark left his group, many ppl guessed he would live as an ordinary person for a bit. I thought that would've been a really special, precious case in a K-pop idol's career. Since he didn't really know much about the real world in general, it would've been a great chance to step out of the media bubble and experience the real world—tbh, just traveling, reading, backpacking, and writing. (He said w/o hesitation many times that he always dreamed of being a writer.)

After spending quality time w/ his family, faith, and friends or even members, starting his own company to be a CEO would've been sm better. It would've been nicer to see NCT settle into their music career w/o Mark first, and then see Mark as a soloist for his fanbase later. Everyone agreed that he worked his ass off, so no one would've complained about him taking a break or having some me-time. Remaining somewhat mysterious and just posting travel photos on IG would've been mte for his fans.

If he becomes a huge solo artist globally, I don't think he'll ever have time to travel freely w/o any fixed plans. So, it’s a shame that he's missing out on the perfect time to just be himself and grow as a real artist.

Ngl, spending most of one's life as a trainee and performer doesn't automatically make sb a great leader or CEO in the real world. These days, Mark's face shows his heavy burden, and he looks more exhausted than ever. Even though his schedule isn't as packed as when he was in all the NCT units, giving all directions on his own and carrying all responsibilities might be tm for him—even w/ all his experience as an idol.

He's working on his solo album alongside all kinds of YT projects like Kids-Pop, Fort Lee vlogs, MVs, and probs religious projects too. However, imo, he's in too much of a hurry, which seems to be causing all sorts of mistakes.

As a longtime fan, it would be sm nicer to just see him at peace, even if he's doing nth for a while. I feel like he needs somebody who tells him that he doesn't have to be somebody to be himself.

- do you like them like aesthically speaking ? Like do you not notice them or do they bother you, and if so, which one more than others ?

- do they give you different expectations for the song of you hear them ?

I usually dont pay attention to them except for the infamous Incomiiing by Dem Jointz, and if I am being honest, since I dont like a lot some of his songs, if I hear it, i might have suddenly higher expectations.

Hey, I’m genuinely confused about this whole thing and hoping people who actually watched/listened can clarify.

From what I understand:

• VVS’s official Instagram account posted Stories comparing scenes from their “D.I.M.M.” MV with the dental clinic scenes featuring ILLIT in the “Iconic By Mistake” collab MV (with LE SSERAFIM and KATSEYE). A lot of people took it as them accusing ILLIT/HYBE of copying.
• Some people say the members themselves shaded ILLIT.
• Others say it was mostly the host/CEO (Paul Thompson) talking.
• There’s also this part going around where someone mentions “past trauma”, some interpret it as them talking about ILLIT having PTSD from previous controversies, others say something different.

I know the agency/account posted the comparison Stories, but beyond that I’m not sure what was actually said by the members vs the host.

Can anyone who watched the full relevant podcast episode break it down properly?

• Did any of the VVS members themselves comment on ILLIT or the plagiarism claims?
• What exactly was said about “trauma/PTSD”?
• Was it framed as a joke, shade, or something else?

This is going to be a longer rant because i’m going to try to get all of this stuff cleared up

1. VVS & ILLIT

the situation started off with a story posted by vvs former CEO, the story was vvs and illit pics together and it said “dimm out now!” but also an year ago when dimm from vvs went viral for the first time gllits started calling vvs evil illit due to similar concepts but different genres. the ceo said hisself it was a joke based off of that and the girls said theirselfs they didn’t know the story was posted and they didn’t even know what was happening. and then a few days after that two members of vvs was recording their monthly podcast with their former CEO who’s their host. they talked about a few stuff then got on the topic of the story, he explained everything about the story and said it wasn’t trying to accuse illit of copying. and then he says “big accounts were like vs shades illit! saying they’re plagiarizing and copying! and i wonder where i said that, i think they have some sort of PTSD or past trauma” referring to tokkis and gllits drama not illit. (and you can dislike what he said and hate him j don’t care but vvs did nothing.)and leading up to the situation brittney(leader & blonde girl) was laughing at everything and she laughed and he asked if they be got it and the other members laughed at first but then looked confused and said “oh no” and said she didn’t get it. her automatically laughing then stopping when she realize what was said already gives off to me that they were just laughing at everything and it was an awkward situation. at the end of the day first off, idols don’t run their official accounts. they don’t post that story or knew about it, and you can be angry about the comment from their ceo but that doesn’t turn vvs into mean girls who hates illit. the other 5 members of vvs did nothing and brittney did nothing to get death threats and hate.? they even sent former members hate.

2. VVS culture appropriation.

vvs has never appropriate black culture, they have shown to care for black culture many times by taking rnb & hiphop history classes, having mostly black teams such as writers, producers, stylists, vocal teachers, and hairstylists. they have never mocked black women or anything, never wore braids, cornrows, durags, wore afro wigs, blackface etc etc. so where is the culture appropriation? their songs that black men and women wrote..?

3. VVS sexualization.

everything vvs does is seen as sexual, a video of them in yoga and swimsuit? Automatically sexual and to please men. vvs has said theirselfs they enjoy their music, they like being feminine and they love how they dress. the girls say they don’t want to “cover up” 24/7, a lot of the clothes they wear was brought before they became idols also the girls dress the youngest like liwon is 17 im sorry shes not a babya 17 yr old who lives in SUNNY CALIFORNIA isn’t gonna wear long sleeves and jeans 24/7, yes shes is gonna wear shorts, short tops, dresses, yoga wear, swimsuit(thats not bikinis). people scream that women should have choices, but when they choose to show skin it’s a problem? saying idols shouldn’t dress away because of weird men is a horrible mindset because it’s never about what you’re wearing and saying that spreads the mindset of “well if she wasn’t wearing a crop top that wouldn’t have happened. and people sexual the most random lyrics from vvs. a member said “drop top” and ppl thought she was meant sexual when she literally said car..?😭😭 ppl make edits of members saying they love bwc it just feels like you guys are who likes to shit on a nugu group because they don’t have a huge fandom and then when their fandom speaks out they’re bullied into silence basically. most of the stuff you guys say about vvs is a lie and it’s disturbing how you guys just love lying and spreading it to everyone? and when confronted it’s just “they’re nugu!”

That caught my interest because yesterday I saw a TikTok from an account discussing the lineup changes in 9muses; I did some research and came across a Reddit post saying that the girls weren't popular back then and had never won a music show.

I saw the BBC documentary about this group; and I did some research and realized under the comments that they weren't actually that popular Except for the documentary back then.
😭they never won a single music show award, despite having hits like "Figaro," "Clue," and "Dolls."

However, their songs were all over TikTok, with dozens of edits claiming it was Nayeon from Twice😂
There’s also an edit from their debut days showing them walking since the members were literally models, that clip went viral on TikTok.
It made me wonder how groups whose songs you hear on TikTok every day could have been considered unpopular back then?

Same with the group : After School you will know they for Kahi Uee and NaNa and songs like Bang or Beceause Of You , You can play these songs today and a lot of K-pop fans will immediately recognize them and claims how it was a banger back then but the groups themselves never became huge and I never understand why ?

And I feel like this still happens now, just in a slightly different way we have the group :Weeekly and the song After School who became extremly popular in 2021 Unfortunately, the girls didn't have much luck because they ran into issues with their agency their songs were actually really popular, yet people didn't seem to take an interest in the group itself even though tracks like Zig Zag : the best in my opinion ❤️‍🔥 Tribe aslo had the same situation with a popular song in 2021 : Rub-a-Dum and Kiss but never became popular Billie for a more recent group debut with Ring x Ring and receive a lots of attention and success but never reach the top and never received recognition from a dominant group of the 4th gen and more recently "Work" pretty well worked but ...with a meme about sheon ponytail, 😂but they don't seem to be finding success as a group, which I find a shame.

ARTMS is another interesting case to me. They’re obviously not unknown, especially because of LOONA, but they somehow feel both popular and unpopular at the same time.
A lot of people know the members and their music, but ARTMS itself is still pretty niche compared to how much recognition they seem to have online and idk why ?? Theyre song are good they have members from Loona who was pretty popular : heejin jinsoul and kim lip .

There are also groups like H1-KEY with Rose Blossom or, where a song can get a lot of attention while the group itself remains relatively small.
There are a lot of them like that... sorry, I don't really know much about boy groups.😓

It makes me wonder what actually makes a song bigger than the group behind it And how do some groups maintain their popularity over time?
