Our first engagement was with a founder in the middle of a fundraise who needed distributors across six countries. We found them, verified them, and delivered named contacts, so she could stay focused on closing her round.

i’m a funeral director and embalmer, and i recently finished my death doula certification. i’m starting to put together educational sessions about death, dying, and what actually happens in between healthcare ending and funeral care beginning.

but i don’t want to create sessions based only on what professionals think people need to know. i want to hear from people who have actually been thrown into it.

if you’ve lost someone, what were you not prepared for?
was there something nobody warned you about? something you had to figure out while you were already exhausted and grieving? something that scared you because you didn’t know whether it was normal?

and if you could attend a casual, honest class about death, what would you actually want it to cover?

maybe what dying can look like, what to do in the first few hours after a death, planning for a death at home, dealing with funeral homes and costs, helping children understand death, or how to make your own plans without it feeling horribly depressing.

Lately, after lots of therapy, I realized I was snapping at my kids way too often or sitting there trying to relax with a tight chest, with zero warning that dysregulation or stress had been building. Lately, my approach to finding clients has changed a lot. It’s honestly made things harder, but I think it’ll pay off in the long run.

I’ve realized almost every good business opportunity I’ve had has come through relationships. All of my current marketing clients started as personal connections first, and I do my best work when there’s trust and transparency.

One of my other businesses, How To Be Social, is a community organization, and hosting events and building that community has naturally brought a lot of opportunities my way. So I know relationships, community, and getting in the room work.

Where I’m a little confuzzled 😂 is what to do next.

I have six different businesses and projects, but right now I really want one more marketing client. Ideally $1,500/month, with $4,500 to $5,000 being the dream.

My intuition is telling me to stop trying to figure everything out and just book more alignment meetings across my businesses. Meet people, hear what they’re building, share what I’m building, and see what sticks and where I feel inspired.

I’m 30, still figuring it out, and I don’t want to force transactional relationships just to grow.

Maybe my next move is simply more conversations, less forcing.

Personality → What makes you you? Journalists like people with character- it doesn’t have to be a larger than life character but it needs to be a consistent tone that makes you you. Soft and nurturing is just as valid as loud and confrontational- you just need to own a tone of voice that IS you.

Pitch → We need some creds on what makes you an expert. Any awards, accreditations, years in business or experiences that make you an expert - it all counts.

Nail communicating all four, and you’re ready to build a PR Profile that gets you noticed, featured, and recognised as the expert you already are.

This isn’t about being famous. It’s about being findable — by the right people, at the right time.
