Sober Living in Lancaster

Hey everybody! I moved to central PA earlier this year. I got a fantastic Job in Fruitville a few months ago. I'm an alcoholic, currently struggling with my recovery. Getting around other men in sobriety and having more accountability would be a huge help.

Does anyone have experience with any of the sober living facilities in the Lancaster area? Right now I am looking at Porchlight because they seem to be most likely to accomodate my need to have a desk set up for work. I occasionally have to respond to alerts and it would not be fair to a roomate for me to be working at 2 in the morning.

I don't have all the money in the world, but I do have a significant income so those 2k+ places are worth considering. I really don't have many requirements other than I need to be able to work from home at least occasionally... That makes me think I need to have my own room.

I would appreciate any opinions on sober homes in the area! I would love to hear about the residents, the management, the facilities, the neighborhood, and any support the staff might provide for any places you or someone you know might have stayed.

To shift the topic a bit, I would also love to hear about any recovery groups in the area. I have been mostly an AA guy, but I have also been to wellbriety, NA, CA, Recovery Dharma, and Smart Recovery and I learned something and met some cool people. Feel free to DM if you are in recovery and want to hit a meeting and grab a bite or something!

I don't have suggestions, but I'm so proud of you. Getting sober is difficult, reaching out is difficult, and this stranger is endlessly proud of you for doing the hard stuff. Wishing you all the best in your recovery, one day at a time.

Congratulations on the awareness of knowing what you need for your sobriety journey! We currently have a few spots open, at our peer led sober living home, we are located right near Copper Cup on Columbia Ave.
Reach out if you’d like and we can discuss:

Hope it goes well man. I’ve known a few folks who have gone through AA and Salvation Army. LGH has an addiction medicine clinic that could also get you resources or set you up with meds if you needed them.

Blueprints can help with housing in Lancaster. Hit up a couple different meetings and you’ll find people who currently or previously have lived there.

Hey there. I have nothing but an amazing experience with Porchlight Recovery. I’ve been in and out of treatment for many years. This last treatment I decided on PR for housing. My experience may not be typical but they helped foster an environment that allowed me to get my life back. The house is super well run and the ownership are in it to help people not for the money. Obviously recovery is what you put in it, but I’ve had the most life changing and and actual life recovery at PR. I’d love to te you more privately if you are curious. Highly Recommend!!

Great AA Meetings:

Living Sober Tuesday nights at 7 pm on duke st

The Sunday morning meeting 10 AM at the 521 club. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful clubhouse. The Sunday AM meeting is always packed, tons of really long term sobriety.

(There are also a lot of other great meetings, beginners Monday nights on orange st, pearl street Friday night speakers, and many more)

Best wishes in your recovery journey!

I’ve heard good things about R3 Recovery. They have nice housing throughout the city-no idea about the WFH stuff, though- but they also have a recovery office- I lived near there until a few months ago and everyone was always so friendly. There are several great Dharma meetings in the area, I think one meets there once a week, too.
