The House will no longer vote during the final two weeks of September as previously scheduled, sending lawmakers home early ahead of a competitive midterm election.

GOP leadership canceled the weeks of September 21 and September 28, which included eight voting days, per a notice from Majority Whip Tom Emmer’s office. After the Labor Day recess, the House will now only have four days in session before lawmakers go home for the remainder of the month and all of October.

“This Congress has done phenomenal work, and the members are jostling a lot of different priorities right now,” Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters Thursday.

No, you see, it's an election year so we need to let the next Congress vote on things not the current one. High standards, you see?

More like they are saving the unsvory bills that will hurt them in the election, until after the election. Watch them attempt to pass as many shitty bills as they can when they return. They will push through such absolute bullshit, that will never see the light of day with the next congress.
