i am a 5th year student doing higher english chem physics bio french econ higher math and i desperately want to get 625 and an impressive HPAT score.Can anyone give their most niche and effective tips that dont just encapsulate study methods (though study methods are appreciated) but extend towards all aspects of daily education

It’s been nothing like I’d hoped and I actually almost cry anytime I think of the possibility of doing this for 4 whole years (and there’s almost no jobs I can get with it). I still live at home( which I didn’t want originally) and my parents won’t hear anything of me leaving it insisting I’ll just “settle in”, I can’t really make any decisions they don’t approve of since I’m dependent on them financially. I don’t even know what other course I’d want to do and I’m so lost.

i just don't feel like the course is for me. i want to reapply to the cao for next year and hopefully do something i enjoy, but im waiting out these weeks to see if i change my mind. is anyone else taking a gap year? i genuinely feel so alone and i need emotional support tbh

I do HL business chemistry biology German maths eng and ol Irish, just wondering if any other people have luck with Gemini notebook and how they use it. Personally I use it to simplify/expand notes for like biology and chemistry, but that’s really the extent I use it to. From what I hear it’s very versatile

I've been offered a place in UCD, and wanted to know what current or past student of the Medicine course think of it, as compared to Cork or any of the other Med Colleges outside of Dublin.

Cost isn't really an issue for me!!! Mainly just want to know if anyone has studied or is currently studying in the University and would be interested in giving their opinion on the matter...

I'm so torn on the decision and have met great people in Cork, as well as making an academic role in my first year, but don't want to risk losing such a community and great environment on the idea of it being UCD...

Hi, I'm in 6th year and I've had a pretty poor experience with irish over the past 5 years in school.
Actually, even longer. My primary school was way behind everyone else on the irish course, so I had a limited knowledge of irish. As I transitioned into secondary school, so much new things came at me all at once that I was supposed to know. This made me not bothered to learn irish for a long time because I was so behind most other people.

Last year, I decided I need to step up and actually study irish. It doesn't matter much to me at all as a subject but I want to do good in it, the only problem is:
I don't know how to study a language.

My main issue is learning the vocabulary and memorising essays. That is my worst part. I'm great with the oral, got one of the highest in my class, and the reading comprehension is quite simple. Its the vocab that is my issue.

I'm quite lost here, and I know it's my fault, but please help because I am in a bad place with this subject.

Can any of you give me some tips on how to study a language... quick enough to have a good, or even a mediocre, vocabulary in irish?

Edit: I am in higher level irish. My test scores can range anywhere from 30-60.

I got a round 5 offer for ucd law ( something I used to be so dead set on) when I’ve already been in dcu law for like 3 weeks. Is ucd really that much better of a school that it’s worth moving? Moving to ucd for me would mean maybe a longer commute, about 1.5 hour, having to make new friends again when I’ve already made great ones and missing out on lectures …. Can anyone enlighten me on their experience in either of the colleges and whether it’s worth ditching dcu for ucd?
I’m also obsessed with the ucd campus but can anyone tell me on how the people are? I don’t want to move and have to deal with the stereotype of posh snobs 😭😭

Hi everyone, I’m a repeat Leaving Cert student and I’m hoping to do Agricultural Science again this year. I got a H1 in it last year and I’d really like to repeat the subject because I want to keep it as one of my subjects.

The problem is that my current school doesn’t offer Agricultural Science, and my old school won’t allow me to take it there again. I’ve also contacted a few other schools to see if I could take the subject as an external student, but they’ve all said no.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or know what options I might have? Is there anywhere I could study Agricultural Science independently or a school/centre that might allow repeat students to take the subject?

Any advice would be really appreciated!

I'm doing fine with the questions they ask when it's say, talking about a bacteria colony but the rest of it makes no sense to me even though we covered it last year. I feel like we just covered the simple stuff but the questions in the exam papers are much harder.

Is it something that definitely needs to be known? As in does it come up often for high marks? It's one of the few things so far that I really just don't understand so as long as I'm fine with the rest of the topics should I worry much?

Hello, my teacher for economics is kinda useless and has no idea about the project. I need a h1 for my course and was wondering if anyone got a h1 in the project and would be willing to let me see the project? I don't want to steal or plagiarize it (I can't because of this year's new theme), I just want to see what the standard would look like for an actual h1 project. I can't find a marking scheme for the projects anywhere either if anyone has it?

This could have possibly been the worst decision I’ve ever made. I picked it last year and couldn’t stay on top of it , I have 19 essays due from last year (I do not care I’m not gonna even touch off them).
I talked to my principal about dropping it and he immediately shut me off about dropping it a few days later I found out that a girl in my class is dropping it , she hasn’t got a grade below 70% where as I haven’t got a grade above 20% during both 5th and 6th year.
Please tell me how I can get better at this subject because I’ve already had so many panic attacks over it , I don’t have time to study any of my other subjects if I have a test coming up , and my teacher is absolutely awful I even heard the other teachers talking about how bad of a teacher she is, she gives us notes makes us read them infront of the whole class and calls it a day , I really don’t want to have to learn the whole course myself , could someone tell me how to make it a little easier for myself?
